  1. I won't flame ya man But I will say I don't think you should be able to vote unless you pay taxes. I also wouldn't be against voting (at least on a federal level) being opened to only property owners. This would prevent politicians from draining our economic system with handouts to gain votes. I'm okay with saying that people who are tax paying and or property owners have a more vested interest in this country than a homeless person. Too much bullshit legislation is being passed right now to "buy votes" and cripple our already down economy. Its weird how most businesses and people that have a financial interest in this country are against this legislation. Those who have nothing to lose and everything to gain support it. I don't know if I'm for this, but I've heard people propose the idea (although I think its illegal right now because it would be considered a poll tax) but charging people a tax to vote. I hate taxes just as much as the next guy. But if you paid 20, 50 bucks to vote, think how much money that would raise for the government, prevent voter fraud, and maybe cause people to put more intelligence into their vote instead of going "ehhrr I saw a commmercial for this dude, yeah!! hope, change!!!" (not saying all people voted for obama because of his slogan, but it did test well in the focus groups ) I'm not saying I'm for this particular idea, but it is compelling.
  2. wasn't shaq a reserve police officer in orlando at one time? If I got pulled over by him I'd think I was being "punked" and be scanning for Ashton Kutcher like I was looking at Where's Waldo Book

  6. Maybe he'll pull a ryan perrilloux and transfer to jacksonville st after this year (granted that guy was kicked off the team... but you get the idea) I wouldn't be surpised if he transfers to another school that caters to his style of play if his season continues on the route that it is. At this rate in two years he'll be lucky to get PT in the UFL let alone the CFL.
  7. He had good intentions but I read this and couldn't help but laugh: Terrelle Pryor is under fire at Ohio State, so one of his best friends jumped to his defense -- although it may not have come out exactly the way he wanted. Receiver DeVier Posey, who has become one of Pryor's favorite targets, made the case that too much is expected of Pryor, who turned the ball over four times in the Buckeyes' shocking 26-18 loss at two-touchdown underdog Purdue last week. Posey said that all eyes were on the acclaimed quarterback from the time he set foot on campus. "From his first pass, (people said) he's really not that good. But I really feel that's kind of hard for a guy like that, you know what I mean? There's only one Tim Tebow in this world and I don't really know what people want from (Pryor)," Posey said. "He's going to get better. He really can't do much worse." Those were hardly words of consolation, either for Pryor, now a sophomore, or Ohio State fans. Posey went on to say Pryor will improve, although he was a bit unsure of when. "I feel like he's going to get better, he's going to be a great player. It's going to happen in time," he said. "He's further along than (Ohio State Heisman Trophy winner) Troy (Smith) was, than (ex-Texas QB and current Tennessee Titan) Vince Young was, and I just feel like if people are patient, and he's patient (he'll be great). ... He's not going to be great tomorrow. But if he works on it, eventually in a year or two, or even maybe by the end of this year, he'll be a great player." Such a timeline may not work for Ohio State fans. Read more: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/football/ncaa/10/21/pryor-posey.ap/index.html#ixzz0UcmGvGNj

  16. I saw this mentioned a couple times and figured I'd address it. I don't know if people know this, but a 9 mm round is not going to "stop" a car by firing towards the motor. This isn't hollywood. Also did anyone bother to read those news stories? The police have arrested this guy multiple times in the past and he had a long criminal record of drug trafficking. This wasn't some guy just running because he didn't have insurance and the police knew this when they were trying to pull him over.
  17. Actually it does... when the suspect uses his car as a deadly weapon

  19. I've had the buffalo chicken sub at subway... and I'm thinking those hershey squirts are independent of your cough. If you've had a cough for 2.5 weeks I'm guessing you have chronic bronchitis and probably have black mold in your house somewhere and need to clean things up you dirty bastard. jk go see a doctor (you can call any office close-by and ask them if they're accepting new patients)
  20. I don't know whats more sweet... that drift or the background music!?
  21. I've never been pro choice in my life... and after recently having a child I can't imagine someone having little or no regard for life because they find a child "inconvenient". I'm not referring to cases of rape, incest, or medical complications. I'm referring to the rest of the reasons people abort children. I remember seeing the heart beat in the first sonogram at 12 weeks. Before my daughter was born I felt like I had this unbelievable connection to a life I had yet to meet, but new was there and couldn't wait to bring into the world. Child birth has been so romanticized and over played through the years that all the "cliches" about it have been worn out but yet still remain true. Seeing my daughter born was probably the greatest day of my life. She's a little over 7 months old now and every day with her is a blessing. People value different things differently, but I'm a little disturbed when people don't value the innocent life of a child. For me, abortion is nothing about telling a woman what she can or can't do with her body. I think thats a lame counter argument. It's about giving a voice to the child. Unfortunately there's so many circumstances and shades of gray in this complicated issue that no one can develop a black and white standard that offers a solution to encompass every situation.
