  1. Thanks, Doc. Yeah... I think I'm ok. A little bruised on the left side (that just showed up in the last hour). My chest is feeling better. I thought I bruised a rib, but must not have. A little rash on the left side. It's really not bad.
  2. Yeah... Strom needs some work, but it's rideable. The cable was moving the lever that goes into the crank case, but it just wouldn't grab. Not sure why. I don't think it has anything to do with the lever or cable.
  3. Just my pride was hurt, lol. I choked, plain and simple. I don't know why, but I got nervy, glanced off the road for a second, and there I went. Can't really explain it. Hasn't happened before like that. I low-sided once on ice, and once on gravel, but never just choked like that. I think maybe I should have backed it down and stayed toward the rear of the pack until I was more comfortable. There are a million excuses I would like to make, but I just screwed up. I don't think the bike will be hard to fix, but the clutch has me puzzled. There is no good reason I can see why it shouldn't engage. Thanks to everybody. When I get back on the horse, I'd like to give it another shot with you guys, if you don't mind (and I'd understand if you did, lol).
  4. Well, since I wrecked on this weekend's ride, I don't see being able to make this next one. Just letting you know, Doc. I was looking forward to meeting you.
  5. I am such a loser! I blew a turn and the bike was unrideable. So much thanks to Isaac's Papa for the trailer home, and Mike53ali for hanging out with me while we waited for a ride. Sorry for blowing the day for you guys.
  6. Leaving in about 5 minutes.
  7. Yeah... I should be there. I'm planning on it unless something comes up. DQ, right?
  8. Yeah... I could go 76... get on at 225. That would be cool.
  9. Where are you meeting up in Bolivar?
  10. This is right up there with the guy that drilled holes through his ECU and couldn't figure out why his bike wouldn't run.
  11. Nice bike! That will be a good daily rider for sure. Good deal.
  12. I completely agree with you. The whole point of not stopping oncoming traffic on a 4-lane is that the bus routes are arranged so that they always pick up on the same side as direction of travel so as not to cause a huge holdup on a main route in rush hour traffic. Stopping suddenly could actually put more kids at risk, if it were to cause an accident sending cars into the stopped bus.
  13. Sometimes it's all about area under the curve, rather than the highest peak. I don't like the looks of the Yamaha, but I appreciate that it's a nice bike. I could say that about their whole lineup... never did anything for me.
  14. that is hot, but I'm partial to naked bikes.
  15. Wow. How fast was he going when this happened? Better there than wound up in the rear wheel or ibreaking through the engine case.
  16. acronym confusion... qft-quit f**king trolling, or...? ahhhhha... quoted for truth. Sorry, I'm old and not of the interwebz 20-something hip generation. Dig?
  17. yes sir... I apologize. You gotta admit, the first POST was quite the troll.
  18. 4 lane road- not required to stop unless you're moving in the same direction.
  19. Oh Black Betty! Amberlamps. We might be right, but you're still hot, and I'm still an old ugly married loser that hopes to be pulled over by you someday. [ame] [/ame]
  20. I would agree with that. I had a '95 and really liked it. If it had better brakes and a little more room, I would have kept it forever. I would still like to pick one up, but that's just nostalgia talking.
  21. I might try and make this one. Sounds like a lot of good riding.
  22. There are a lot of stupid people in this world. I think you did the right thing. I've been in a couple situations that made me wish I was carrying. Fortunately, I have a po'd look that says "you'd better leave now", and usually they get the point. Just like in roadhouse... be nice, until it's time to not be nice.
