  1. I wont do any brake/clutch bleeding without installing speed bleeders. They save major headaches.
  2. I bet Honda figures that 50% of the market is going to dump the stock exhaust can no matter what, so they design the cheapest legal option to get the bike out the door. As a btw, the 5th gen exhaust cans bolt directly to the 8th gen and visa versa. Cool! I admit I went and looked at one, and its quite an attractive bike. I like it, but for the damn VTEC. -- Maybe there might be a future 5/8ths VFR coming to my garage in the future.
  3. I'm with you too --- I would love a chance to wring that Busa for some serious adrenaline. But when it come down to it, bike wise, I have always have been a twistys junkie. Give me miles of nasty twists and I'm in nirvana.
  4. One of my neighbors has a tricked out Busa and that thing flat out hauls ass. He passed me on the hwy at full bore and holy shit, it sounds like a champ car. BUT, on the way back from the ride, I took the lead and cut through some local twists. Busa guy couldnt handle it. 100hp VFR guy looses 200hp Busa guy.
  5. Pass! There are other bikes in better shape. You will dump money into it and end up spending more bucks than if you found one in great shape.
  6. Great thread, I'm long overdue for a WV trip.
  7. ^^^^ That's kinda cool --- kinda hard to tell what is going on....
  8. I know someone who makes the stuff for mil-spec apps...
  9. So whadif -- this something I have been wondering about -- a combination of composite fibres, and figure out to get a ceramic weave in it and autoclave the thing? Probly simular to armoring a limo.
  10. Interesting thread... Ever consider Kevlar?
  11. Honda electrics ..... grrrr Ideas - -Take apart the switch gear and clean out the connections. -- Double check battery.... charge overnite and then get load tested. --- Have seen screwball lights/dash behaviour with iffy charging system garbage..... Do a quick idle and 5000 rpm volt check. (multimeter needed) --- check stator connector..... and check grounds....

  13. A Bandit1200 comes to mind, the classic big UJM. Or jump to a FJR1300 or ST1300 or all out to a GW.
  14. That's the DoD procurement system - order and build more equipment than really is needed. Give away the extra or scrap the extra stuff. Brand new planes end up being flown to the Arizona boneyard. Tanks? The Lima tank plant is a perfect example. We have a warehouse of tanks that arent needed, yet we keep making them for the sake of making them. Billions - wasted.
  15. Anybody in Dayton area know where I can get 3 or 4 hours use of a car lift? thxz
  16. Omg, that's so sick it's hilarious... That's about the equivalent of politics in America. - I think that they should just intravenously use vodka, OD on alcohol....
  17. That is the aspect I despise the most. Being a civil complaint, it makes the camera company party to each violation. Now how the hell by any law, can a private company charge individuals for a traffic violation? That just pisses me off. (I want that gig)
  18. I have used throttle rockers for years with no problems. While cruising, you can keep the throttle open with two fingers on the bar end and your thumb on the rocker. Then when it gets twisty time, just move over and grab the grip like normal. Also have used various locks and they are great for the long haul. On my Valk, I have it set as a dead man's throttle... i.e. the lock is set somewhat snug where the throttle stays where you put it. Its ez to roll down the road hands off. Then, you have to remember to shut down the gas when slowing down. No big deal, once you get uses to it.
  19. How much weight do the beads add to a tire?
