  1. Nice vid doc. - I did a simular vacation a while back. Flew into SF, rented VFRs and north on Hwy1, to Oregon into the redwoods, over to Crystal Lake, back around to Yosemite, Tahoe. Great time. - I take it you rented the BMW? Where did you pick it up from?
  2. What does your owners manual say? Stock spec on a VFR is 36 front, 42 rear.
  3. I was sarcastic, not sure if you took it that way. -- Been down in Ky quite a few times too.
  4. Yup, roads around Dayton are just awful. Flat as a pancake and boring. Yup. Not an S turn in the area.
  5. Thanks for this one Nick. I tried on my leather pants and "oh shit." Too many 12 oz curls headed straight to the waist.
  6. ^^ Would love to see your NSR sometime, if that's cool.
  7. +1 > A solid 5th gen would go $2800 to $4500 and up to $7k would get you a super nice 6th gen. Add a suspension upgrade and you got a bike that would do several days burning twists in the mountains and not wear you out. Its good for a commute or cross country if you have the itch. And they sound badass wih a good pipe. (I'm never selling mine.)
  8. Dont have to be one or the other - I am equally fine with burning though the twists with the VFR or doing a laid back day just taking it easy on a cruise ride. Why just do one flavor?
  9. That's a great deal! -- I have one of those and I use it constantly.
  10. West Third is a rough area and high crime.
  11. Got out for about a 60 mile blast. First miles of 2013. - Damn, shoulders are bit sore!
  12. Been riding a lot of years and if it has 2 wheels, I'm into it, whether, sport, sport tour, standard, dirt and even cruisers. Lots of different flavors. My current cruiser is a Valkyrie. Love the thing. My current combination I like to say ---- one to go fast, one to go slow, not necessarily in that order.
  13. Wow! That's nice. I have been aching for a uber long distance ride for quite awhile. But its bad timing for me at the moment. GLWS.
  14. Its a copy of a copy. ---I think its in the 400 mile range so I would cut it down some, probly lob off the east end of it for starters.
  15. Debating about it. Hocking Hills is cool but kinda touristy, lotsa other people show up. Logan right by Hocking on 33 would be good meetup spot and east of Logan is some great riding. I would be interested in coming out, cranking 300 miles of twists and call it a day. I prefer to work it good in the corners and then cruise the straights. btw ATGATT and http://users.hal-pc.org/~mmcham/rules.html http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/flashback/122_0911_the_pace_nick_ienatsch/
  16. Since she's used to the V65, she could pick damn near anything and certainly a VFR800 5th or 6th gen too.
  17. Generally agree with ya, but mostly early in the season is when to look. Late summer, you'll get gigged for full price. -Good place for mounting too.
  18. I was just tipped off on checking Amazon too. A lot of stores sell their tires thru there. http://www.amazon.com/Michelin-Pilot-Radial-Motorcycle-Touring/dp/B005J88E9C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1362061293&sr=8-2&keywords=pilot+road+2
  19. ^^^^ +1 --- Always my first places to check for pricing on tires.
  20. Kudos to you dude! - I hate hearing about newbie rider screwups, hope you can prevent one.
  21. There's plenty of horn options, but the gotcha on any of them is figuring out an acceptable place to mount the thing. The loudest are usually with a mini compressor and air horn such as the Stebel Nautilus horn. The Fiamm high and low set are frickn loud too. Its best to add a relay in the circuit too if you do the upgrade. Good luck
