  1. Its a copy of a copy. ---I think its in the 400 mile range so I would cut it down some, probly lob off the east end of it for starters.
  2. Debating about it. Hocking Hills is cool but kinda touristy, lotsa other people show up. Logan right by Hocking on 33 would be good meetup spot and east of Logan is some great riding. I would be interested in coming out, cranking 300 miles of twists and call it a day. I prefer to work it good in the corners and then cruise the straights. btw ATGATT and http://users.hal-pc.org/~mmcham/rules.html http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/flashback/122_0911_the_pace_nick_ienatsch/
  3. Since she's used to the V65, she could pick damn near anything and certainly a VFR800 5th or 6th gen too.
  4. Generally agree with ya, but mostly early in the season is when to look. Late summer, you'll get gigged for full price. -Good place for mounting too.
  5. I was just tipped off on checking Amazon too. A lot of stores sell their tires thru there. http://www.amazon.com/Michelin-Pilot-Radial-Motorcycle-Touring/dp/B005J88E9C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1362061293&sr=8-2&keywords=pilot+road+2
  6. ^^^^ +1 --- Always my first places to check for pricing on tires.
  7. Kudos to you dude! - I hate hearing about newbie rider screwups, hope you can prevent one.
  8. There's plenty of horn options, but the gotcha on any of them is figuring out an acceptable place to mount the thing. The loudest are usually with a mini compressor and air horn such as the Stebel Nautilus horn. The Fiamm high and low set are frickn loud too. Its best to add a relay in the circuit too if you do the upgrade. Good luck
  9. Esapism- awesome, that's what its about. The wind, the g's, your skill. Your life is in your hands. You're in the moment, nothing else matters. Dammit c'mon spring!
  10. http://vimeo.com/andrewdavidwatson/waitingoutwinter Yeah, its kinda like that...
  11. Damn - still for sale? Stopit.
  12. Looks to be a top veiw of the thing. Could be something like the LIT motors faux motorcyle thingy.
  13. Lotsa ISR activity going on - with focus on the terrorist and counterterrorist arena.
  14. Damn that looks fun, its been way too long since I've been on a dirtbike.
  15. Ive heard Charleston SC is a hot area to live. Many businesses want to locate there. I think BMW is located there, quite a few others.
  16. Some ideas…….Engineering jobs in motorcycling are of the scarce variety. That said, look into racing, parts suppliers, or major OEMs. Since you are into Computer engineering figure an angle on how to apply that to motorcycles. See if you can contact great motorcycle type engineers - i.e. Bazzazz, ask if you could pick their brain. Get some EE courses too. Electric motorcycles at some point will hit the landscape and will need engineers to help. -- All this will apply to automotive engineering too. With all that – keep working on computer engineering. The massive wave of leading edge devices and IT seems to have no end in sight. Good luck
  17. 20thGix did a great job! Professional and fast. Asked me to post some pics so... 2 cent story - I hated the linked brakes on my 5th gen viffer and to ditch them, I used VTR lower fork legs on VFR800 upper tubes. With that, RC51 calipers mount up with minor mods. The VTR fender wont mount up, (VTR triples are narrower) so I did CMM measurements of the VFR and VTR lowers, and designed this adaptor bracket so the VFR fender will fit on the VTR fork lowers. Works out fine. (Probly could stand to hog more material out of it.) Did the original around 5 years ago, and I had several people on viffer forums recently ask if I would make a set for them. - I have a couple extra sets if anybody wants to tackle the job.
  18. I am at - all bikes are cool, anything with 2 wheels. I like to get out and wring my tricked out VFR in the twists some days and other times just jump on the Valkyrie, lay back, cruise the countryside. Its all good, all flavors.
  19. Kinda like the idea, but I think its ugly, needs a restyle. Would be good for commuting to work. - Wonder if it would be easier to just trike it.
  20. Brian, please post all the pics of the build you can. This forum could stand more bike build threads.
