Sweet video - those two bikes are at the top of my sportbike lust list... MD
-
I have had both a "sporty" bike and a cruiser for a lot of years. Its a great combination. Sometimes I just feel like laying back mello and just ez cruise 40 mph on the local backroads and sometimes the adrenaline junky screams out and I gotta go thrash some twistys. The few times I only had one or the other bike, I missed not having both. BTW - I would never join the "potato, potato" gang. MD

That is incredible - MD

No way is that legit. If it was - dibbs! MD

I used Spiegler on my project RC51 brake job conversion on the Viffer. They are waaaay nice, and since they were in town and ez to get to the shop, it was a no brainer. --- You sure got a deal, mine was in the 150 buck range, front only. MD

Fricken awesome stuff. MD

Wish they would fit me, but I think they are too small. Something weird, I dont remember where I heard it, but your glove size is supposed to be the same as your shoe size. So being the curious foole, I went to the Held site to see how they measure glove size. I did a little paper strip around my hand like Held showed and measured it. -My shoe size? - 9 -- The paper strip length? 9 inches exactly. --> Fricken weird. MD

I have an account on fulltilt with real bucks, but only have done the freerolls on pokerstars. For some reason, I dont like stars that much, the graphics and quicker pace just bug me. (btw - on fulltilt you can deposit bucks with a visa card.) I play some live in a few home games in Dayton and if I can get loose, I'm gonna hit the Hollywood over in Indiana. -- Mostly I'm just a hacker at it working to get better. I took up poker to have something to do in winter, Now I would say riding and poker are equal priorities for me. (Although I'm a waaaay better rider than a poker player.) MD

Dude - I bought a Honda Valkyrie in '99 thinking that it would be the bomb for long distance riding. Since the riding position is bolt upright and all the weight is on your ass, I found that on long trips the beating on my lower back were pretty nasty. Well damn, thats not gonna work. I gave up on using it for trips and just keep it for local cruising which it excells at. I have had VFRs for a dozen years and have found that they are actually great and reasonably comfortable for long distance multiday rides and still handle the twisty stuff, Maybe not as well as a 929, but a good rider can give a gixxer fits. Good luck dude, MD

It looks like actual common sense prevailed and just focuses on street racing. The part of "excessive demonstration" has been struct out so if your solo, the bill doesnt effect you. The nitrous part is only in there now as to if you use it in the act of street racing, your still in deep do. All the noise to the senate actually worked - how 'bout that? MD

I have a Toshiba "netbook" with the intel atom chip - it has windows XP. I managed to lock it up. It boots up and the get to a point where the pointer and hour glass are just permanantly lock. Ctl +Alt + delete does nothing. I have to hard power off the thing to kill it. -- I have Norton 360 on it. -Maybe I picked up a virus or something? I'm in Dayton, who/where would you suggest a fix? Boxing it up and shipping to Toshiba - CA is out. Thanks in advance, MD

Just a reply to follow status on the bill - hear is the reply from Columbus --- I received your e-mail expressing your support for House Bill 191, which would increase the penalties for street racing. I appreciate you taking the time to contact me on this issue. House Bill 191 has been assigned to the Senate Judiciary Criminal Justice Committee where it will undergo further debate. Please know I value your suggestions and look forward to working with my colleagues should this legislation come before me in the Ohio Senate. Again, thank you for your e-mail. I encourage you to contact me should you have additional concerns on this or any other issue facing Ohio . Sincerely, Jon A. Husted Senator 6th District ---------------------------------------- MD

OK gang - Here's a letter I sent ---- subtle but makes the point. Feel free to use it! Send to your senator........ Dear Mr Husted, There is a bill that just passed in the House that I am in full support of on "Street Racing". I am totally against any kind of street racing and I understand that recently somebody was killed as a result of this. 2 or more people who conspire to race on public roads is unacceptable. I would like to point out a concern though of part C that expands the deffinition of street racing - listed © Any exhibition of speed or acceleration that is 2502 inconsistent with the normal operation of a vehicle on a public 2503 road, street, or highway. Persons 2504 My concern is how will normal operation be determined? If I am speeding, is that racing? If I accelerate hard onto the highway ramp is that racing? How much acceleration is too much? If I am alone but speeding, how can I be racing? What is the difference between "reckless operation" and racing? I just think this is way to ambiguous and leaves it vague and up to the mood of the police officer. I may as well add that - yes I am a car and motorcycle enthusiast. I dont street race and dont support anybody that does. But this bill leaves it open that I could get charged with "street racing" if the officer is having a bad day when more appropriately I may be simply be guilty of speeding. I ask of yourself and the senate to clarify or eliminate this issue. If section C is eliminated, I would be in full support of this bill.

I think a letter should ask more of -- what is normal? What will the difference be between speeding, reckless operation and street racing. Is it up to the police officer to determine if my braking or accerlation is normal? I wouldnt mention anything about spirted riding. Say ---sometimes I may be guilty of "speeding" but how does a LEO determine I was "racing" even if I am alone? These guys are politicans and we need to be level headed about it. Also say that in principle you are against "steet racing" (even if you do it) but section C is a stretch. Easy does it - but make the point. MD

I've used WD-40 quite bit on chain cleaning, but mostly I spray a rag and drag the rag and sometimes a toothbrush and go like that. If I'm real ambious, I go grab some kerosene from the hardware store to use for cleaning. For 2 cents worth - my favorite chain lube is the pro honda moly and teflon dry film. BTW - chances are your friends chain is worn out

Motorcycles have always been the priority in life for me, so I never have had less than 2. About 4 years back, I had about $30k in motorcycles and a $4500 car (used Accord). Strangely, being a Honda kinda guy, 2 years ago I stumbled into an absolutely georgeous black Acura 3.0CL with only 28k miles on it for just $10,000. Super nice car. OMG, well yeah I bought it. But dammit, black is a major PIA to keep clean and my anal side rode up to keep the thing perfect. Yeow - after 6 months, I couldnt stand it, I had to sell it. The OCD on that car was driving me wacko... that plus the bikes was too much to handle. So I replaced it with another $4500 Accord. --- See a trend here? So $25k? - wow, lets see, $5k for a car and $20k for bikes. Hmmmmmm..... MD
