  1. First Generation (2001-2005) FZ1 is a fantastic motorcycle. Yamaha hit the mark with comfort and performance. Its perfectly happy touring, dragging knee, taking to the strip, or just commuting. It does everything well and is as smooth as any I4 out there. Thought I wanted a Ninja 1000, but after living with both for the first half of the riding season, I enjoyed getting on the fizzer more than the Ninja 1000. Don't get me wrong the Ninja is a great motorcycle, it just did not hit the mark as well as the FZ1.

  3. Welcome! FZ1 is a great bike...what generation is yours, 2001-2005 or 2006 to present?
  4. Its called an impact driver...it works and does not mangle screws.

    Riders Down

As odd as it sounds, Derek did the right thing in this circumstance. By picking where he went off, it saved him from a much worse crash. Ray tried to ride it out and low sided and hit a tree (entire turn was tree lined). There was no way of going through that turn at even a moderate speed with lean angle and getting through clean. I scrubbed off more speed then Derek and Ray as the turn is very blind when heading west, I do not like blind turns at all, and still had to cross the double yellow to get through clean. This is a decreasing radius turn, and the stones were from right before apex all the way through the exit, but you could not see them until you were at full commitment and lean.

    Riders Down

Just got home (8:30AM) Ray is home and doing well, although with a lot of pain. Little rash on knee and hands, but the gear did its job. Derek is home, also sore in the shoulder and neck. Both bikes are home...Rays pristene FZ1 is a total loss...frame, forks, swingarm, and rims bent. Entire right side of bike looks like it was put on a giant belt sander. Have been up for 30 hours between ride and aftermath...I am smoked! Special thanks to the EMS crew for getting bikes out of 20' ravine and trailering bikes to safe place! Mike for driving down from Akron at 7:00pm with no questions asked and picking up bikes, Derek and me, then rolling down to Huntington WV. To pick up Ray!

    Riders Down

Derek Closer (derekclouser) and Ray Waible (wolfman1) went down this afternoon on route 56 at the intersection of route 356...major stones and gravil. Derek is OK and with me, but Ray took a chopper ride. He was responsive and could move all limbs, and was joking with us. He did have major back pain, as he grazed a tree on the way off the road. Please keep Ray in your thoughts. Will update when I know more about Rays condition.
  9. Are you using a quick shifter?
  10. Its a byproduct of our culture...and just plain retards who should not have children! If you have to think about or worry about leaving your child in the car you are stupid.
  11. Have a gen1 fz1 and had a ninja 1000. The ninja is better handling better stock suspension and a better street motor, but not as refined as the fz1. I found myself missing the fz1 when riding the kawasaki. I decided to stay with the fz1, as it is smoother and slightly more comfortable.
  12. Wish I could ride this one...the weather is going to great! Have fun and be safe.
  13. I just do not understand how anyone can get those kinds of miles out of a rear tire...on a sport bike to boot!
  14. When did we lose commonsense?
  15. Company's or corporation's do not exist to provide you a job, they exist to make money... Period! Hobby Lobby just as Chick Felet are owned and operated by families who are Christian and run their company's with the same belief as they live and operate there lives. Understand I may not believe in nor live how they live, but I do understand in a free society they should be able to run "THEIR" company as they see fit. Our government has no right to define and mandate what free indevidules or companies have to offer, especially if it has to do with personal belief or religious belief. It is very easy to not shop or work for a company if you do not like how they conduct business. The market will take care of companies who do not take care of employees or do not offer a product that people want. This is the whole idea around free markets. If another company pays better or provides benefits that people want or need, they will attract talent and prosper. The exact opposite is true for the company who does not provide for employees. Bottom line the government should not be allowed to dictate something that is really not nesicary.
  16. It's route 550 and 377 intersection. Part of 377 had new asphalt but only about half, the northern half up to 78 is groved and dirty. Hopefully this will be done this week.
  17. Where are you located? I can do a sync, or better yet show and assist you in the synchronization of the carbs and setting the pilot screws.
