    "Nice bike"

I just laugh a little and say thanks with a smile since my bikes usually lbts. I am still amazed the number of compliments I get on a bike that at any one time has mismatched fairings, zip ties, dirt ingrained in plastic welds, missing/mismatched screws, no fairings, no headlights etc.
  2. ^^^^These, and what material the shirt is made out of. If its cotton, is it pre-shrunk?
  3. I am in the market for a nice Tig welder with torch, ground clamp, foot pedal, consumables and a flow meter (I don't need a regulator). Let me know what you have, how many hours on it and how much you want. I am not looking to spend much more than $2k for a used machine but let me know what you have and we can discuss.
  4. Any pictures of it? I'm no r1 expert but I would have helped if you were closer north. Post up problems if any arise, I'm sure plenty of people could help you along the way.
  5. I will be there Saturday; who will be control riding that day? I hope it isn't going to be too packed since everyone was default bumped to that day after the cancellation.
  6. I'm not making any comment on the news article but you don't want someone running for office that has been wrongfully imprisoned and would want to reform the system; someone who was remorseful of what they did and were one of the few who were rehabilitated; someone that made a mistake and have changed their life for the better because of it? You are insensitive and unintelligent to make a judgement based solely on 1 event in someone's life. I have never been to jail but those that have, have served their time and are square with the house. Repeat offenders are a different story, but I can't let your ignorance run amok this time.
  7. I think the 5 minute grace period is enough. I have seen the edit/delete thing get abused on other forums, as well as this one (by a mod though, so I don't know if they can still edit/delete or just move stuff)
  8. I didn't say it wasn't easy, I was just curious if Kawasaki still put the limiters on. I saw the list at the bottom of the page (with the ECU re-flash) but wasn't sure if that was officially what she used or not. I don't know much about land speed records and the like, but I figured MR12, carbon fiber wheels and ceramic bearings are a little more than standard
  9. The washing machine was invented by a man for a woman on her birthday, you know. Maybe you could do something just as romantic, but with a dishwasher (didn't mention that one!) ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhwbxEfy7fg
  10. *Warning: Not actually good or funny, actually pretty lame* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI5l5GQzOk0
  11. That is the only reason I haven't gone yet and possibly won't ever. If its very windy out and directed right at me, I can't seem to breath in. My throat just closes off like some sort of odd protection mechanism and I have to turn my head away to take a breath. Thank you for sharing this. I figure I'll just end up using my dad's old hang glider instead
  12. You say "nothing special", but wouldn't she have had to at least remove the 186mph limiter? I assume they kept that gentleman's agreement but I don't know for certain
  13. With the response I have gotten by the majority of people to very well done ad's by myself, I am certain they do not even read it. Whether or not they can read is still up for debate and it would explain the lack of proofreading. That does appear to be a real chameleon paint job though, which is pretty impressive for the literacy this person displays. I would have expected a rattle can faux chameleon, resembling camo more than anything else.
  14. What all did you have to replace? I have never thought that Honda's were any more expensive than any other bike, it just depends on if you are really searching for parts. For example, most people were trying to ask $300 for a front wheel (which is admittedly far too high) but I was able to find one close enough for $75 and with a little machining time had a matching front.
  15. ^^ it kind of looks like a Whole Foods to me
  16. Wow, clearly someone is beyond reasoning and it surely isn't the biker. My advice would be to put a stock exhaust on the bike (if possible) and see if he could log an official complaint against the neighbor or something or that nature. It is clear that the "war veteran" is unstable and is willing to do some sort of harm so it would be best to have it on record that you have tried to mitigate the situation and he is beyond reasoning. If he has 4 bikes, he should be more understanding that they do make noise
  17. Don't worry, Casper will PM you to help I still have that one BTW, I did PM you back but I don't know if you got it.
  18. Holy shit, you still post here?! You've missed a good bit of fun. I want to see you on another group ride this year.
  19. Plasti-dip the d-ring If you have used Dzus and like them, just use the button head style and you shouldn't hear rattling. I think I am going to experiment with using cotter pins once my bodywork comes in. I figure they'll just pop off in a cash before letting the bodywork break. -Edit- I didn't understand "rattling use" so I just dropped "use", it now occurs you might mean loose. In that case the plati-dip obviously doesn't work so I would go with the rivet style.
  20. They always stop, just some more gracefully then others. If its not raining, or looking like rain, I'll probably tag along. It would be nice to get in some seat time right before finals as a stress reliever.
  21. I have heard it is usually harder for people to do right hand turns (hence why most tracks are right hand biased) because it is more difficult to reposition your body and move your arm while maintaining proper throttle control. With that same thinking, maybe you are uneasy about having the throttle too far away and subconsciously you might think you have less control because of your distance to it? I really have no idea though
