  1. Does anybody use LED lights from an MTB as a helmet light or additional light on the bars? There's a bunch of people around here who put one on the bike and one on the helmet. I got a single one from dealextreme, and was surprised by how much light they put out.
  2. Sale fell through, bump for better riding weather this week!
  3. Can't wait to get home & see the comments to those hahaha. Are they serious? I can't believe they left the FB page up with all the hilarious comments.
  4. This is exactly what I was thinking just watching the governor and all the standard knee-jerk reactionary 'We have to do SOMETHING' mentality on the news just now. The situation is a giant mess, but rushing in with new ill-conceived legislation never really seems to help.
  5. Thanks Ebon! I love it and would prefer to keep it in the garage, just need to free up some cash for some family stuff.
  6. 1998 Honda VFR800. 34,xxx miles (still riding as often as possible). Includes seat cowl and passenger grab handles, Heli bars and Sargent seat. PO painted frame, top triple, and passenger pegs textured black, so it looks slightly different than the standard 5th gen. New Pilot Road 2s with ~1000miles, new front pads and brake fluid changed at 32k along with valve check; R/R changed at ~25k along with VFRNess to avoid charging issues. A few minor mods/updates: Sonic 0.95 front springs with new fork oil, CBR929 rear shock. Radar’s sliders, Pazzo knockoff folding levers, heated grips, throttlemeister, Hyperlites LED brake lights, LED voltage monitor. I have a set of T-Rex front and rear stands I can include with the bike for $75. A few pics to give an idea - I can email hi-res versions: Test Rides with cash in hand only.

  11. Epic in a minor way - I just think it's a cool brewery; got to visit the New Belgium mothership a few years ago & had a good time. Are you Brookpark PD? I was at Memorial Park for today's bicycle mud-sufferfest, and didn't see any R1s in the PD parking lot, but apparently you weren't working today anyway...
  12. Happy birthday!! - toasting with the last of my Fat Tire....
  13. She's dead to me now that she's pushing those Big Brother SuperSpy monitoring devices... Another data point, 41, no tickets in at least the last 5 years, full coverage for the VFR thru Progressive is $200/yr. Hundred bucks more a year for about twice the power isn't bad, though!!
  14. Probably the Memphis Belle replica-it was on the 6:00 news tonight sitting at CLE. A few weeks ago I was doing a bicycle race at Wendy Park on Whiskey Island; the B-25 from Urbana was flying in the pattern from Burke, then as my race was starting the B-17 from Yankee Air Museum in YIP came over. Very distracting to hear 4 radials right on top of you when you're surrounded by people with your heart rate spiking.
  15. You know you should keep this one, right? I bet it sounds awesome with the Staintunes...
  16. I went last year, mostly custom cars & not many bikes, but there was something for everybody, including vintage earthmovers (!!!) and trucks, a MIG-21, and a bunch of other cool stuff. This year looks bigger from the ads I've seen. Everybody make sure they pony up to go thru the B-17!!
  17. Yeah thanks, my kid just read this thread, and wants me to take down his Green machine & drive to Columbus now... Anyone have a spare big wheel I can borrow? This is only slightly less ridiculous than the crazy Swedes sledding behind a Viggen fighter in the winter time, probably about 1000x less expensive though.
  18. RIP racer.... Not sure about the wisdom of dissimilar vehicles on track at the same time, but I hope this tragedy doesn't result in another round of fear mongering against kids being outdoors.

    New Addition

Nice! What kinda remote reservoir shock do you have there?
  20. Duct tape? Somewhere i saw a pic of a guy with a small chair that was mounted on a modified topcase rack; can't find it now, though. Several people have done bike racks this way, so it can certainly be done... Unfortunately looks like I'm out for tomorrow; parents are coming into town for the weekend, so being gone having fun all day would be a bad thing. Bummer.
  21. Excellent! Maybe you can get one of these to aid in your therapy so you have the option of hand or foot shifting: http://www.aprilia.com/Model/39/Mana+850/Overview.aspx

  23. One of my dogs is terrified of thunder (really any noise). He woke me up at 3 trying to dig under the nightstand; after I got him situated I couldn't fall asleep so I went outside with a couple Fat Tires to watch the second storm cell roll in. Between cells the sky cleared out, so the moon was lighting up the clouds as the next cell rolled over us and the light show started again. Very cool...

    HIPAA laws

Yeah, that changes things. So you should be guarantor for your daughter only, no the ex's whole extended family. Shitty on the part of the ex and/or the billing dept. Send me your info so I can add you as my guarantor too... got a few appointments coming up
  25. I wouldn't run from it, just go in with your eyes open and/or take someone mech-savvy with you. Use it as a negotiating lever? I wouldn't pay 3k for a 5th gen with a rebuilt title when you could go get one with a clean title, new tires etc for 3k-3500. If you're interested, go over to VFRD and school yourself on charging system issues, another negotiation point. Wish mine had gear driven cans:(
