    Ride Sat 4/28

Out; mowing/baling yard before the grass gets taller than the house.
  2. Maybe the cop is tired of responding to preventable injury/fatality accidents?
  3. Like!! I have this wierd V4 fetish...it just reminds me of the real 70s CanAm car sound.
  4. Frame & subframe straight? One of my buddies 'thinks' he's got a 125 engine in his barn.
  5. That's a great pic! I just read thru the back story as well - much respect for rescuing them and giving them a great future!! We have 2 dogs (greyhounds) and 3 cats, all of which are rescued. It disgusts me the way people abuse and dispose of animals (and kids and the elderly, for that matter)
  6. Great, now my daughter thinks we're going to do this tonight.... won't ride a freakin' bike, but she's running around the house with my helmet on...
  7. This brings up a good point - the total lack of SA, courtesy or lane discipline seems to be a factor in many of the road rage incidents we see. I'd think creating a common-sense based 'Keep Right Except to Pass' law and hammering on violators would actually help safety far more than ticketing for speeding. Combine it with cellphone/text use, putting on makeup, or other distractions, for a $500 a pop fine-fest...
  8. What's your mission and budget for the new bike? More power/sport, hooliganism, commuting, two-up sport touring, track days? The extra mass of the VFR allows it to 'hold the road' better . The plus-size sportbike/small-sport-tour class (VFR, Sprint, Blackbird, FJR, new Ninja 1000, etc.) is a good choice for a do it all kind of bike.
  9. 41, but wife tells me I act like a 12 year old...
  10. Still 1100 start time for Sat? I might be working til noon.
  11. Good question. I did a quick Google search which makes it sound like A* uses different zippers, but we can try them and see if it's compatible. I do have the opposing zipper that came with the pants.
  12. OK so half again the power, almost double the torque... I couldn't remember the VFR torque off the top of my head. I agree, we need to see how this pans out. It could wind up looking completely different by the time it gets to production. I'm hoping they succeed.
  13. I got these used with my jacket thinking they'd fit me, but they're too small The guy I bought them from said he'd worn them once; they look 100% off the rack new, apart from one small ~1/4" long light scratch on the front of the right thigh. No bug splats or, rips, tears, or anything else that I can see. $150 shipped Link to the info/sizing page on JRs site: http://www.joerocket.com/catalog/index.cfm/237/129/Pants/Blaster_2.0_Pant
  14. RIP Rider Don't be scared, learn from their accidents and do your best to reduce the risks as much as possible.
  15. Looks like half a Chevy V8-that's some impressive torque! I wonder why they put the engine longitudinal with the chain drive, though? Packaging? Plans for a range of sport thru ST/Connie size bikes down the road? It's like a VFR/Sprint with twice the power, should be a good time.
  16. I ride west river down to Valley City, then 252 to Abbeyville on the way home from work.
  17. That's my internet impression too - maybe death grippng? If you're clamped onto the grips it's going to tense up your forearms as well.

    Hello all

    Welcome from another noob!
  19. +1 (could be he meant that the cops being harassed for not applying selective taxation was a shame, though)
  20. Man that A380 looked like it was cruising for such a confined space! Looked like a kid kicking his sister's dollhouse over...
  21. Yeah that's a bizarre policy. 'Hey, let's limit our revenue and push people away to rent somewhere else!' WTF? Doing that independent flying is what helps make you into a real pilot, apply decision making, deal with real world weather on a longer trip, etc. Are you pt 141 or 61? I instruct part time at Lorain Co.
