I couldn't imagine how a cigarette would last long enough to be worth it at much speed. My friends and I would occationally pull out a cigar while snowboarding, and if it were left out in the wind on your way down the slope, it would be completely burned away by the bottom of the run. I would think a cigarette on a motorcycle traveling at anything over 30 would burn away before you got the thing to your mouth!

That's awful to hear but great that you guys are ok. I hope you both recover fast. Because she's 82. Clear the road, motherfucker!

I didn't realize it came up so soon, I thought it was later in August. Glad you had fun! I drove by Sturgis on the last day 10 years ago on my way to Yellowstone. I didn't know squat about bikes back then but knew what Sturgis was. I thought maybe I'd make it one day. I actually thought I might make it this year since I was hoping to ride through some of the parks out that way, but my vacation plans changed.

Back road corner carver project-Ninja 250R or 'zuki GS500F?

I don't know anyone with an XR1200 and never heard of the head shake. Is that a common problem? If so it would remove any desire to own any HD bike ever made. I thought this was a pretty decent ride till now. Does the AMA kit do anything to resolve this? -
there isnt one bike that will do everything

I've been thrilled with my SV for what I do. I have saddle bags so it's my car from April-November, I ride 2-up all the time, it handles, starts, and stops. I liked it so much I bought a second one for the track. It's not perfect but I sure have a lot of fun on it, and that's all that matters. -

I wonder how USAir is still in business. This is standard operating procedure for them! -

The SV has 77hp to the HawkGT's 45. Parts can be had from anywhere for cheap. They might not be unusual on the forums, but it's rare I see any on the road. -
Got my disc today, thanks Marty!

It's a completely different bike, but my Yoshi pipe on my track SV is much, much quieter than my street SV that has an M4. The M4 is borderline too loud for me where the Yoshi has a very pleasant tone without being noisy, even at full throttle at the track. There's days I consider switching since I prefer not to be associated with the screaming exhausts of two particular individuals who also live in my neighborhood and like going WOT from each stop sign.

So here's a similar question: I have a GSXR front end sitting in my garage ready to be installed on my SV650. The GSXR tire is a 120/70 where the SV is a 120/60. I plan on carrying over my current tire to the GSXR front wheel, because it's essentially brand new (only 2 track days this season). Is the GSXR wheel any wider, and if so, is putting a smaller tire going to create an issue? For what it's worth, the GSXR fork swap lowers the front end a bit already. I really don't want to buy a new tire when I essentially just bought one. But is this is going to make the bike twitchy, I'll buck up and buy a 120/70

I took my Tuono out against my better judgement and suggestions of a few and had a great time. In the same day, I took my friend's VTR250 out. Completely different bikes from my SV and each other, and a heap of fun. Go for it!

Found an article on this that sounds like confirmation http://www.motomatters.com/analysis/2012/08/07/this_time_for_real_yamaha_to_announce_ro.html I found that article here http://www.corner-carvers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=958083#post958083 -
$17 for that? Wow, that just reinforces why I don't go there. Matt Fish must be laughing at his customers almost as much as I am. Fuck Melt!

That's outstanding! Any idea where that was published and when?

Was exarch riding the Dayton route again??

I think that's a Diavel Not positive though. I don't see the instrument panel on the tank, but the angle of the photo makes it difficult. -
If they'd move the ditch to the road, the Harley would always stay in the road! Seriously, I bet he was having fun riding with broken fingers. Hopefully he makes it home ok and gets fixed.
-
It was great to meet you too! I was glad to see you were able to get your bike fixed and get out. I don't know why the control guy gave me a green light when he did. I habitually check to see if anyone was coming when I leave the pit and was shocked when I actually saw a bike there! I hope I wasn't too much of a holdup. I've been dying to take that bike out for some laps and figured that was my best chance.

I wanted to say to him it'll buff out, but figured it was too soon. If he's making payments on it, I think he would have to rebuild it. More power to him if he fixes it. If the engine and transmission are still good, I can see it happening. The forks looked fine, so did the front brakes and rotors. Wheels appeared to be ok. If he makes it into a full-on track bike, rebuilding it might not be too bad. Getting a new frameThe frame is thetricky part, and I'm sure it'll nickle and dime him pretty hard, but what else would you do?

Had a great time Saturday, I think I met a few of you guys without realizing who you were. I thoroughly enjoyed running my Tuono around even though I never got out of 3rd gear. At least I feel like I can ride the thing now which is reassuring. A few of the Mini riders dropped by too to oogle my friend's VTR250. They were a cool bunch and that whole group was a hoot to watch. I may have to get into that! Speaking of, I did take his VTR out for half of session 6. Fuck that was fun! The BMW crash is a major, major bummer. I feel so bad for that guy. I really hope he can find his way out of that without taking a huge financial hit.

I love reading all the things that went wrong with that jump. It must have been amateur day at stunt school!

Riding The Track...With Handlebars?
wantahertzdonut replied to wantahertzdonut's topic in Track is Crack
I usually ride a yellow SV. I love it on the track but just figured I'd try the Tuono once. I'm bringing my friend's bike so I'll be towing with a maroonish Suburban and a very faded green ez-up. My Tuono is red/white/black. I'll be showing up late tonight, feel free to drop by! -
I heard back from Todd this afternoon, he confirmed this. Gates will be open all weekend.

Can Anyone Check Out A Truck In Groveport?
wantahertzdonut replied to wantahertzdonut's topic in Dumpster
Hey guys- I have a friend of mine who is able to check out the truck tonight. I really appreciate the responses. Max- I didn't think you would do something like that, I was just kidding around but was super tired last night when I wrote everything. Sorry if I came off like a jerk! Out of curiosity, do you know what year Toyota switched a/c refrigerant? This truck has "a leak in the a/c system", I'm trying to figure out how much it'll cost to fix and possibly convert to R134a. -

Aw man, you'll be the next guy to steal one from under me! I've missed out on probably a dozen since I started looking in February. The usual no answer/no returned messages, or in 3 cases I got a call from the seller saying "he has someone else there right now buying it" as I'm getting in my car with money to buy. Of course I can't just buy a normal vehicle with 30 examples for sale on CL at any given time!
