  1. Oh shit, I hope I didn't do something to mess you up. I'm the guy on the yellow SV. My apologies if I did. I'm glad you were able to keep the bike rolling. I've had a couple offs in the same place; missing my turn-in point and didn't lean enough and wound up running wide.
  2. Had an outstanding day yesterday. The rain while pesky wasn't stopping me from going out. I discovered a new line because of it. I also discovered the curbs are slippery! The one in T3 got me a little sideways and I went off in the grass for a short bit but kept it up ad got back on the track with no issue. Once the track dried it was a great afternoon.
  3. What tracks are in NC/SC? I may wind up moving there and would love it if there were still tracks to visit.
  4. I generally have a good experience. Prices are nice and it's a fun way to burn a rainy weekend day driving down from Cleveland. I've bought both of my helmets from them since it's very nice to be able to try on so many different brands and sizes all at once. My girlfriend was hunting for a pair of cordura riding pants for quite a while and I really hoped she'd find them at IP, but no luck. She's quite thin, and the only women's pants they had were more for show than for providing any protection. Yet you could walk over to the men's gear and find pants that would fit a 10 year old boy on closeout. She did get a great jacket, and later found the matching pants online. Is it me or is a lot of their gear "generic"? Everything packed in off to the right seems to be a lot of no-name stuff. It's weird walking through there sometimes.
  5. Bring something you know you'll like, if you get in a bind go hit up the concession stand. The people that were there last year had a great breakfast but it appears to be a different truck this year. I haven't had a chance to sample thier grub yet.
  6. No worries, I got a spot on a trailer from R1.
  7. Thanks for shooting those, they came out great. Between you, Kyle, and my girlfriend taking photos, I'll have tons to look at. The video is outstanding too. Great angles and sound. Watching that reminds me a bit of the second race in Grand Prix.
  8. Close! It's his dad on an FZ1. The VTR is occupying the second slot on my trailer.
  9. Speaking of COTA, if MotoGP holds a race there, would that eliminate one of the existing US GP events? If that were the case, and MotoGP went to Austin instead of Indianapolis, it might bring back attendance at MO for AMA. Earache has a good point too. Cops generating revenue, I mean enforcing the law, are really doing a great job of killing crowds at anything, be it racing, concerts, fairs, you name it. But that's another rant for another day.
  10. Is there anyone from the Cleveland area going that has room for an extra bike? A friend of mine wants to ride Novice on Saturday and my trailer is full. He's willing to spot gas money and he'll get the bike to you.
  11. I think I spotted you off to the side at one point. I was in intermediate on a yellow naked SV with a big eyeball sticker where the headlight should be. Yellow helmet, blue/black/white suit.
  12. Perfect, thanks. One more thing, does MO get you for a gate fee, or charge spectators?
  13. Can anyone tell me what time I need to arrive at the track? I don't see a daily schedule of events on the MO website. I don't want to get there in the middle of the rider's meeting! I assume the track goes hot at 9am.
  14. Anyone know if they still serve lunch? I need to know if I need to pack a bunch of food or not. Last time I did a MO trackday was with STT back in 08 and they fed us, but I'm sure things have changed.
  15. I can't do the 18th, but I'm trying to get the 17th off. I put in for the day off and my boss is being lazy. I'll have to hound him on Monday so I can sign up.
  16. Never fear, I won't be bringing the VTR smackdown into the I group! lol Now if I find one for myself...it might be another story!
  17. I'll be there Saturday in I, quite possibly with a friend or two, they will be in B.
  18. I try to be accustomed to bad driving, then some other idiot surpasses my expectations. This is in large part due to the fact I live near a mall and drive into Cleveland on I-90 every day.
  19. Glad you're ok after this because getting hit like that sucks the big one. How much good did the gear do for you? As said earlier, hopefully you can get replacement of your gear as well, since it's obviously essential, and not cheap!
  20. I am very interested in making it down, so if you think there is work that can be done then I am all for learning something that I need to know anyway. I'm hoping to make Mid Ohio anyway this year, it's been a long time and I'm itching to get back. I'm going to put in for the day off which shouldn't be much trouble, once it's approved I'll be signing up. Going for suspension help is a huge bonus!
  21. I'm eyeballing the 17th. But my SV has stock suspension with emulators, but nothing else. If I can get my GSXR fork on and get a shock installed, I'll have more to do. I'd like to bring my Tuono down and learn how to set it up, but I don't think I want to chance it on a track I haven't visited since early 08. I'll see how I feel.
  22. Sounds like a great day! I was wishing I was at the track but instead was returning from NC from a vacation that was cut short. I plan on heading out to BR with Motoseries on the 22nd.
  23. I've rented a couple heritage softtails over the years and found them to be decent enough. I would never own one as they're way to plush and there is no feedback from the bike, it just feels vague. But I expect that from a cruiser that's twice the weight of my sportbikes. I took one up to the Haleakula crater in HI last fall and it was decent, but those damn floorboards scraped on almost every turn. Not enjoyable to say the least. I missed my SV. I'm surprised to hear your experience in the first dealer. I guess they must have enough business that they don't care to bring in new customers. Considering HD's greatest achievement is marketing, that dealer certainly isn't living up to the image. Of the few HD dealers I've set foot in (usually for a rental) I've been welcomed with a smile, shown to where I need to go immedietly, and had some of the greatest customer service I've had at any store of any kind. It almost makes me want to own a Harley. If they made a bike more in line with my taste, I certainly wouldn't hesitate based on the customer service alone.
