  1. For sale: 2000 SV650 frame, swingarm, and shock. NO TITLE. This was the frame to my track bike that I swapped out last spring. It has about 12,500 miles on it. All is usable and in good shape. $50 or best offer. Would prefer local pickup, but I can work on shipping it to you at extra cost. I am in Fairview Park, just west of Cleveland and just minutes from I-90, I-71, and I-480.
  2. I rode last Sunday. Not that it makes this past weekend justifyable by any means...
  3. I'll most likely run in to you since I need to bug Todd about a few things, so I'll be making a beeline for the Motoseries booth as soon as I get there Saturday morning.
  4. Well I wish you the best of luck. It sounds like you got some cool bits and should have fun with it this summer. I always liked TL's, but couldn't find a TLR that wasn't beat to death or owned by a squid for a realistic price.
  5. There are some people that seem to think so given their inability to negotiate each and every turn! But yes, weekdays and early weekend days are nice. It seems like a lot of the spirited drivers hit the stretch early on weekends so it's quite entertaining then. Night is generally nice too.
  6. Welcome aboard and to the area. The Valley Parkway through the metroparks is the best ride in the immediate area if you don't mind passing illegally every so often. The road is great and has turns, but can get clogged with slowasses in minivans doing 20. Still fun, my friends and I are down there all the time.
  7. I've been shoveling for the most part. When it's been warm it was also wet, or the roads were covered with saltwater. No riding for me.
  8. I wouldn't go yelling at them by any means, I had a great experience with them at BR last year. I truly am upset but I'm not going to get all uptight over a few dollars. Yelling at people over the phone rarely accomplishes much.
  9. I took a deposit on the car tonight, and while it's not final until I have the balance, I'm considering it sold.
  10. I joined either last August or September. If my understanding is correct, it would be good for one year. I'll re-read my receipt info to make sure, but I'm quite certain I have at least 8 months to go on my membership. I think I'll be making a call today. And yes, I've been a very happy Motoseries customer since 2009. With all the dates and tracks that are scheduled this year, I won't have much reason to go with anyone else.
  11. Looks fun. I was hoping to go that weekend but my job sentenced me to New Jersey for the last two weeks in September.
  12. I just read the email, what the fuck. I just got my membership with them toward the end of last season and had a great experience with them at BR, so I guess that's $25 I wasted. It's not much money but I joined with the intent of doing more weekends with them this year when Motoseries was not holding an event. I kinda want my money back!
  13. I'm honestly surprised it hasn't moved to Columbus since everything else is moving from Cleveland and going there.
  14. My glitch? I'm still living in Cleveland and wake up here every day.
  15. I hear you on that. We get way more snow than you guys up here and you'd think the local population would figure it out. It snows, you can slide, it's ok as long as you don't freak out. But everyone does... Most people just can't drive in general. Snow only exacerbates the problem.
  16. Lots of names, and many are places I don't frequent already for a number of reasons. I know there was one of those online petitions going around, I think the real thing is call your congressman.
  17. I rode a bit New Year's Day but that's all I've been able to manage. Too cold by the time I get home and the streets are all wet, I'd rather not contend with ice.
  18. Tennessee bitching aside, wouldn't this eliminate half of the trucks on the road? Just trying to see the bright side. Hopefully trucks coming from TN will get ticketed once they cross the border.
  19. I'm definitely going but I miss seeing the BMW, Aprilia, and KTM displays. After wading through the HD Fanboi Lovefest maybe I'll get to check some stuff out. I need to run into Todd from Motoseries about a few things anyway. I might stop by the afterparty for a bit too. I haven't met any of you in person but I certainly don't mind meeting people over a few drinks!
  20. I usually get the insurance because mine doesn't cover rentals. Do some checking into the rental service. If there's recent reviews suggesting poor condition bikes, look elsewhere. Check to see what helmets they rent, because if you want proper head protection, bring your own. Beyond that, be prepared to pay $125+ a day depending on the bike. For what it's worth, I've had pleasant experiences renting from HD dealers, but you're stuck with a big cruiser. Sportbike rentals are a bit harder to find but they are out there.
  21. That guy's motorhome buildup is making me jealous. Running away sounds pretty nice these days, and that's the tool to make it possible!
  22. That's quite the shame. At least I got out for a little bit in the last couple weeks. I guess it's time to face reality. That said, we've been lucky so far. I'm just worried the snow is going to carry out into April, or it'll be another wet cold spring/summer. Come to think of it, I've been on that road in Colorado shown from 2:39 to 3:19. Nice place.
  23. I've taken to wearing an old snowboarding jacket over my usual gear. If I go out and it's in the 40's, I'll have a thermal LS t-shirt, a fleece sweatshirt, my armored jacket, and then the snowboard jacket. I have cordura armored pants that I wear over jeans, and some heavy work boots since my usual motorcycle boots breathe way too well when it's cold. My weakness has been gloves but I dug up an old pair of ski gloves with a leather palm. They're probably not the best thing for crash protection but they put my focus back on the road, not on my hands. In the past I've installed dirtbike hand guards to block the wind and that made a huge difference as well. No heated gear, and the jacket covers my neck right up to my helmet. I won't ride when it's below 40 due to the possibility of ice, but when it's 40-50 I'll be more than comfortable for a couple hours with that gear.
  24. Same here! I wouldn't mind seeing an 81 XS850. I'd also like to see a buyer for my Mustang and warm dry weather to ride in!
