    Why carry a gun?

Depends I OC my FNP-45 15+1 rounds of 45 acp! Ever since I took an advanced ccw course I always carry 2 spare mags that's 46 rounds of happiness!
  2. I do jeep right I sure wish others did, I hate going through cinci or cbus everybody thinkbthe need the left two Damn lanes. I highly doubt your reaction is much faster than mine, I drive a truck and was trained under the smirth system. I'm jot saying it isn't faster but I bet not much if it is. I've blown to steer tires in a semi fully loaded 65 plus, had a trailer air line rupture at 65 plus causing major air loss. With a four cylinder car pulling a trailer rolling down a hill, how is he going to accelerate if trailer says starts? Towing with a proper tow vehicle and being experienced is different than towing a uhaul behind a 4 cylinder car in the mountains rolling down the hill. I rarely tow on the interstate in my personak vehicle which is why I don't usually tow at 75-80. When we moved from Indiana I ran 74 or so most of the way with a fully loaded car trailer. I also know what my vehicle and I are capable of. That setup 80 mph is dangerous in my opinion, but its not my life he risked!
  3. Yes you are correct! Basically we make $0.5804 cpm X 6,770 miles per week. So combined this run would pay us $200,265.40 approx plus accessorials per year if we run it a full year. We have only been back this particular run since September this year. This year we will make just over $150,000 combined Im guessing or at least we are track to do so. And yes we are company drivers! Now at the first of the year we may lose this run to another team, we don't know. The other run we know we can get is 5,218 miles per week @ $0.6004 per mile for a grand total of approx $160,044.36 plus accessorials per year, but we get an extra half to three quarters of a day off on that run. You are wrong 75K each this year. Please see above. We are LTL linehaul drivers, we pull doubles and hazmat and get paid very very well! I pee in a bottle if I HAVE to, but we have time we can stop, they give us 24hours to do a full turn we usually run it in 22 hrs. Sometimes we get stuck in traffic, behind an accident or such and its an option between a bottle and a tire. Poop in a can NEVER!!! Now I have had to pull along the shoulder and shit in the woods, truck stop food can tear you up. I was wrong truck moves 22 hours or just under a day unless something goes wrong. Like this week we are a little behind due to rain, accidents, construction, traffic, etc. Bad day overall. We know all the places to stop, and I usually stop once during my shift at a rest area, although sometimes more it honestly just depends. I can stop more if I need to, I just log it as off duty. Killing the wife somedays, I swear actually at this job not as bad, our last job we were out 90 plus days at a time now that is stressful on a marriage! Pretty close, actually we eat on the truck almost exclusively. We eat healthy choice steam meals(i think that is what they are) for breakfast, I eat a cold microwavable bowl of chef boy r de mini ravioli for lunch, and for dinner we reheat leftovers in a lunch box cooker(like this week we have roast, potatoes, and carrots, and the other meals are home made Stromboli). I love to cook! Now on thursdays we usually eat the switch point, and some fridays we eat dinner out it just depends how we are running on our schedule. Now getting started in truck if you run OTR(Over The Road) expect to make $35,000 to $45,000 your first year depending on what company you go to, some pay shit! There is good money to be made in trucking once you get a little time under your belt and a good record. Walmart drivers make $75k solo plus from what I hear, all LTL(Less Than Truckload) drivers make good money I know some who make solo $85k plus and home every day and most weekends, UPS parcel feeder drivers can make $100k solo, some tanker gigs pay very well, and some flat bed pays well. Union car haulers make excellent money as well as some grocery haulers, compared to OTR Now can we get back to the OP, and help him find a job. I apologize to the OP, I did not mean to start a huge discussion and deter everyone from helping you, but obviously many people have misconceptions of trucking. If anybody want to continue the trucking discussion start a thread so we don't distract from the OP! :backtotopic:
  4. It's drop and hook freight. Sometimes it'd 5 date and s few hours, but yes we basically run 6,770 total in roughly 5 days. I drive 11 hrs a dat the wife does a little more. The truck moves 23 hrs a day. The first half is aprox 671 miles the second is aprox 690, but the run pays 6770. Did I mention I'm an ltl driver, we make more than average.
  5. If you like I can scan my paycheck when we get home. My wife and I are on a dedicated run. We run 6,770 miles a week and make 29.02 cpm each. You can do the math, now only figure 50 weeks as we get two weeks vacation at $850 a week. The other run we ran was 5,218 miles per week but paid 30.02 cpm each. Fyi we don't split the miles either. My old man ran for eagle and made over $70,000 most years.
  6. Crossbreed has to be ordered I don't believe they have local dealers. Each holster is custom made. I have or had several crossbreed by far my fav IWB holster. Although I am contemplating order a MTAc for the Sig I carry now, but so far I've had no issues carrying it OWB. Check Xdtalk form for a used one, he also puts blemished ones up for sale on Xdtalk. The owner of crossbreed runs Xdtalk forum now.
  7. He's not at liberty to discuss that matter at this time, the test results are pending!
  8. Nevermind! Hell I could to that fast, but a little four banger has a hard enough time controlling rhe trailer. Just nevermind! Maybe he will be lucky maybe not! You see the shit I see out here on the road it gives a different perspective!
  9. My panties aren't in a bunch, Hell I'm free balling! Those little tires they have on the open uhaul motorcycle trailers have a tendency to come off the rim completely much like snow mobile trailer wheels. I will say it us interesting to watch when the trailer hits the ground. The other issue towing that fast us if the trailer starts fish tailing your screwed. You don't just need to stop due to traffic there are other reasons to stop. You do as you wish I travel in a semi and your not going to hurt me! I've seen more accidents with cages towing trailers lately.
  10. Sent you a pm I do t see usps going anywhere, but either way the jobs are with contractors. My dad worked for eagle express lines, they handle most all tractor trailer work in cbus I believe.
  11. If he is only making $28,000 he needs to find a new gig. We will make $75,000 each this year and thats because we took a shorter run with more hometime. The run we run now pays $100,000 per year per driver, and we are home 48 hrs a week. Look for a mail route I'm not sure who has them in your area but the tractor trailer mail runs pay pretty Damn well.
  12. We had a naked lady in lowes one day when I worked there. She was sleeping trying to stay warm in the rubber dock door boot when we opened the door to unload the trailer she took off through the store luckily we weren't open yet. She was stoned I'm sure and was hiding from the cops.
  13. Remind me to not buy your car! Towing with your setup at 75-85 is dangerous, just cause you can get the car and trailer to go that fast doesn't mean you can stop it efficiently! I swear common sense goes out the door when people get in their cars. I have a pickup up with a brake controller, and a tandem axle trailer, and I won't tow at 75-85 mph. Have you ever seen what happens to those tires when they heat up? Have you ever seen what happens to the car when you end up in the median after blowing a tire? They're going to need the jaws of life to get you out. Some people shouldn't be on the road!

  15. I don't don't have an iPhone, but I have a plantronixs pro, that works very well and seems to have a long standby time. I'm not a big talker, it is noise cancelling and light weight. In the semi we use a blue parrot it lasts like 10 hrs or something of straight talk time. I have uconnect in my pickup and love it.
  16. I disagree with you on hunting, while some may hunt for your stated reason more do not. Many people hunt to feed their family especially in these economic times, yet others hunt tovhelp keep the animal population manageable. I have no issues with hunting as long as the hunter uses the animal. Hunters donate a lot of meat to charities!
  17. I suppose they are not going to donate the meat to charity either.

    1911 info

I had a PT1911 and I couldn't get it to group worth a Damn, I didst care for it. When it comes to the PT1911's there isn't consistency you either get lucky and get s good if or well. I have two Springfield 1911's and love them they are very accurate out of the box. I would not carry a 1911 in my pocket personally just too big and you have the safety to catch on stuff. I prefer to carry cocked and locked and I just wouldn't feel safe doing so with a 1911 in my pocket. The grouping issues with tour HK might be grip related. iWB carry isn't bad with the right holster I prefer crossbreed supertucks horsehide, that's how I carry my full size Xdm.

    Ruger LCP

Recall performed and less than two hundred down the pipe when I sold it. I always thought it kicked like a mule for its size, it would sting my hand.

  22. Let me think on that..... No!
  23. How should I go about pricing my four wheeler if I decide to sell. Is there a blue book price guide for four wheelers? Does anybody have access to such a guide. What I have is an 09 or 08, but I'm pretty sure its an 09 kawasaki brute force 750i I don't know exact hours or miles right now, but they are pretty low as it hasn't been heavily ridden. Stock other than cross country winch, mirrors (removable), k&n air filter, plow mount, Honda plow 50" plow. I have a nylon bag set on the back and I have a salt spread that can go with it. Just trying to get an idea what I can get out of it, not sure I'm selling it yet.
  24. I think I'm going to cancel the on demand netflix the selection is getting shimmer in the cartoon category.
