Damn Sam, sorry to hear this day had to finally come. Godspeed brave Tyton. Our loving pets, like children, should never have to leave our lives prematurely. A teary eyed tip of my glass to ya both, here's to meeting again in the next life.

We have Alpine Stars branded under garments that help wick sweat and allow air to circulate through to cool you, but thats all we wear under our suits. Under Armor makes the same type of garment. Helps us stay cooler at trackdays for sure. For city riding and backroading, its typical street gear and regular breaks like red mentioned above. Dont have any real tips aside from the common sense rules of hydrating frequently, eating small portions often, and rest off the bike occasionally.

Got both stocks today. Impressed with how rigid they are for a skeletonized design. Armalite injection molded frames. The adjustment rails are serated, so once in place and locked down, they are rock solid. The adjustment assemblies mounting nuts are captive and partially recessed into the frame, so no 2nd wrench is needed to move their positions on the stock, just back out the screws/reposition the mount/refasten with the included ( and stowed onboard ) allen wrench. I especially like the fact that the comb can be moved fore/aft to adjust for varying eye reliefs between optics and still have a good cheek weld. LuthAR boast their stock weighs in about 1/2 pound less than the PRS, has a bit more adjustment in the LOP and riser, as well as the pricetag is about $100 less than the PRS....so, it's obvious who their target competitor was with this design. Now, I'm not discrediting Magpul's product, this was just more befitting my taste and budget. All win so far, but once I get the guns built and fitted properly is when the true tests will happen.

I'm becoming a firm believer in building vs buying a rifle, you'll get exactly what you want for less investment. As for optics, I'm still on the learning curve, but currently using 6-24x50's on a couple of my rifles. Can see a good distance at that power

Well, I opted for the Luth-AR MBA-1 modular buttstocks. Should arrive at the end of the week and plan to build these rifles this weekend. I'll post up a little review once they're mounted, and maybe more insight once they've had a little field testing

Got a deal on an NCstar 6-24x50 ( basic illuminated mildot ) for our AR builds. $80 shipped through Amazon where the old price was avg $120.

Great shooters, love mine. Not too poorly priced with the extra mags either, GLWS

I'd wager the sending unit itself failed/shorted causing the issue. Probably just coincidence the fuel pump had just been replaced at the time, aftermarket or not. Not sure they share a circuit but likely that they both communicate through the ECM seperately. I used to sell a lot of 5.9 pumps and respective solenoids to farmers, municipalities, and diesel heads, but it's tamed down a lot over the years and rarely see these in our shop anymore. I can help save you guys money on engine components, but we dont deal with anything smaller than class 6 trucks.

I first thought about the simpler A1/A2 stock, but since it lacked adjustment I decided otherwise myself. Plus I want an adjustable comb so I can have the option of various optic/riser setups and keep a comfy cheek weld

Kendon trailers are light and fold up to only hog 12sqft of real estate against a wall. Of course they do cost more than an avg trailer, but a great space saver and towable with most any vehicle

Thanks guys. I'd assumed there would be more positive feedback about the PRS than anything else due to Magpul's popularity and the limited market for precision AR stocks. They were my first choice, just pricier than expected. Thread retitled to try and draw more interest outside of just the 2 makes. Keep it coming folks, diverse opinions desired

There ya go Sam. You and gsxkat split the cost of the bike, store it at his place, and share it at some trackdays

I mentioned the street fighter idea to him, but he isn't really a fan of the nakeds.
-
He rode street with it until he dumped it. It's a clear titled bike, but he figured it would be easiest/cheapest for potential buyers to offer it up as a track bike since the lights and fairings are done in.

Thanks AJ, I'd read a few reviews online but was hoping for some personal experience here. These both require a fixed rifle length tube, they're aren't notched for collapsible stock buffer tubes, plus they're precision builds ( of sorts anyway, my first attempt ) so once adjusted for me, I can keep the repeatability easier with a fixed stock. I'm really leaning towards the MBA stock since it can also be locked in after I adjust it, whereas the PRS adjusters just have detents to hold things in place. Detent seems to me like it'd be a bit of an open door to where it could be bumped out of position.

I'm liking the versatility of the Magpul PRS but the damned pricetag is holding me back from nabbing a couple of these for a pair of rifles that I'm building with my Dad. Shopping around online, I found Luth-AR's MBA stocks. They appear to be just a little more versatile than the PRS by allowing multiple positions of where both the LOP adjuster and upper comb can be mounted on the stock, as well as a bit further adjustment on the LOP. Anyone have any hands-on experience with the MBA stocks? The price is almost half of the Magpul, so that in itself has enticed me to want it...plus the added adjustability is really driving me towards them too. I'm sure I haven't shopped all my options out, but these 2 options are pretty close to what I'm after -- planning to mount it on a fixed rifle buffer tube assembly. Any other adjustable makes out there that I'm not aware of that would suit my wants/needs/wallet??

Bought 2 Element Arms stripped lowers a couple years ago, and finally ordered some custom uppers from SAA late last week. 20" BHW HBAR's in match416 stainless, rail height GB's, YHM rifle length FF Quadrails, and NiB BCG's. Now shopping for optics, bipods, and stocks/buffers, so I'm stoked I'm finally getting close to working on a couple precision rifle builds.

DAMN Standing in front of that exhaust manifold is death waiting to happen Killer rebuild

Believe it runs a 110/70-17 front and 140/60-18 rear, so not quite SV sized -- possibly a swingarm swap would allow for the 160 rear?

Congrats on the wedding. I feel your .40cal wallet pain, considering a 9mm carry myself. GLWS

The motor ran tiptop. Last year Chad went through the valvetrain and got everything shimmed back to spec, he also went through the carbs and got the mix jetted properly. Straighten the subframe, slap on some track plastics, and this thing would be ready for a trackday. GLWS bro
