  1. Got home about 30 minutes ago. Stellar weather, awesome road conditions, great folks, good ride, and BBQ ...how could the day be more perfect?
  2. We are leaving CompAcc in 15 minutes. Looks like everyone is here except 3.504
  3. Sounds good, added ya to the roster. See you all in the morning
  4. We'll probably be at Hocking Mall shit shootin' for a while afterwards Jack, pretty sure the slow group rolled in last time while we were still there. Cool, be good to catchup with ya again and chat about your cbr setup and new pr @ MidO since the trackday last month Nah, Mac....shouldn't need to do that unless you'd feel more comfortable going slower/faster. A dozen riders isn't overkill, and we should be at about that.
  5. That guy is hilarious.....he used fuck in every possible context long before the 5 minutes were up. If I sold firearms, and a customer came to me asking to buy a particular weapon....I'd say need your drivers license, fill this out, sign here, let me run this through, be right back. Sounds like the salesman at that particular Gander had bullshitted his way through the hiring process right past an idiotic manager. Sad really. Not only because it's an unsafe practice, but moreso that they allow fools to sell their product.
  6. Sweet, this should put our group to capacity now
  7. Nice, I spent my spare time at work compiling a short list of directions myself.....guess I should've procrastinated.....again
  8. No problem, I'll add you to the Groveport list Hope she fires right up for ya, I'll add you to the list too
  9. This is why you just trade guns for other guns, cash, or drugs. Barter system has worked just fine for centuries, and it's tax/fee free
  10. Think the Nelsonville stop was at a Speedway just before the right turn onto Burr Oak? The BP stop was in Malta, iirc.
  11. I'd never buy a carbon fiber wrench of any sort just to save weight on my bike, the price alone drives me away. Cool for those with the money to try something new, but ( like Dave said ) without an offset and smooth grip I dont want anything to do with them. If I need that much tooling to go along with me, then I'm sure all the luggage I'd be toting would exponentially outweigh the extra tools anyway. A handful of wrenches/sockets are only a few pounds at most. Maybe a good investment for a roadside assistance mechanic using a Ninja 250 to work from? I'm a SnapOn fan, but I'm slowly collecting my way into them by replacing my old Craftsman tools as they break. I'll have to get some pics of the Snappy boxes some of our tech's have at work. Some ridiculously beasty 8 wheelers with full hutches on top of the upper deck, 3 tiers of toolbox just screams penile compensation. They are stupid expensive at over $30k for the boxes alone. Those guys have monthly tool payments of about $400-$450. Dave's box pic'd above is plenty, maybe add a side locker for bigger elec/pneumatic tools.
  12. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Hope you feel better soon man, heal up quick Yeah, meet our group in Groveport
  13. Let's go ahead and stick with the Groveport plan, just in case there's anyone else planning to meet us there that hasn't chimed in. Plus it's a good stop point to fuel up from Springfield
  14. I'm scheduled to work late shift until 8 that night, otherwise I'd have been game to meet up, nab some dope, and pull a few drive-bys with ya. Seriously though, Dayton isn't that bad, unless you're inside the city limits without a gun
  15. We must share a wavelength, you and I....I was just thinking about shooting you a text. Wife and I will be through there about 6:15a-6:20a. Want us to meet ya? Speedway @ Barnhardt/Rt55?
  16. Damnit....now who's gonna tell all the drunken, crazy, shenanigan stories? Claine650, you still plan to meet us in Groveport or are you coming to the CompAcc meet spot?
  17. My bike has been off the Tender since Spring, the issue here was corrosion interrupting the negative connection. That looks like a good investment, but all I have is a tankbag at the moment ( aside from my backpack ) to haul stuff in. Looking into a Concours in the next season or 2, so would definitely be an option then
  18. Meh, probably be comatose anyway from all the miles, twists, and turns.....may as well do it on full gut
  19. Uh oh. The old drunken addage....went to bed at 2 with a 10, woke up at 10 with a 2
  20. Good to hear you've got a replacement ride, now just to finish healing up and you're all set for next year. See ya Saturday
  21. Had a little episode yesterday afternoon out in the sticks about 25 minutes from home. Shut the bike down for a minute at an intersection so oldschoolsdime92 could pet a donkey that had approached the roadside fence where we'd stopped. It appeared to be friendly but when he walked over to pet it, ended up it was just hungry and tried to eat his glove, so he scratched that idea. Got ready to get going again and my bike refused to restart. Pushed it to the berm. Every time I thumbed the start switch I could hear the starter relay ticking erratically.....no worries, we'll just bump start it. Clutch popped it rolling in first, and it fired right up. Left it idling while I threw my lid back on and it suddenly dies. Dash display was well lit, the fuel pump cycled fine every time I flipped the engine cutout switch with ign keyed on, didn't see/smell any cooking of electrics, had good ignition power. Tried tapping the relay several times to get it to engage while I hit the start switch, but no go. Didn't have tools onboard to pull the battery ( it's fully encased in the side of the frame ) and didn't want to try and bumpstart it again just to avoid any further possible electronic meltdowns, so off oldschool went to fetch his truck/trailer. Got the bike home ( Huge thanks to oldschool for the lift back to the house ) and once the battery was pulled, I saw a floured mess at the battery's negative terminal.....could be the issue. I went ahead and tested the relay anyway, just to rule it out and it was fine. Cleaned all the corrosion from the negative terminal, cleaned all other contacts, dielectric greased all connections, reinstalled the battery, bike fired fine. ZX14's have an ammeter built into to the display, and it was reading 14-14.2v consistently so my volt reg was functioning fine. Problem solved. Folks, do yourself a favor and check your battery and ground connections at least once a year. Keep 'em clean and protected. I hadn't had mine apart since wiring up the Battery Tender harness about 3 years ago, and it could have left me somewhat stranded had oldschool not been with me. Biggest lesson learned.....dont pet a donkey, it could turn out to be a hungry ass.
