Nice rig, congrats on the gift-to-self!

Firstly, congrats again on the wedlock plans AJ! When the wife and I married, we held both the ceremony and reception at the same venue ( which was very graciously gifted to us by her aunt who managed the finance dept at Meadowbrook back then ) which was convenient for both the wedding party AND the guests. Pricey, but fairly exquisite if you're interested in checking it out... http://www.daytonmeadowbrook.com/ I hate golf. Firm believer it's nothing more than an elaborate waste of good ground....but it's a stellar locale for wedding photog. Wife had her minister perform the marriage, but to do so meant we had to attend counseling sessions with her to ascertain whether or not we were right/ready to be married. Not a deal breaker in my book since I already knew this would be my first and last wedding. Agreed that the premarital counseling wasn't a bad idea since some experienced insight might do us some good, and apparently isn't as uncommon as it sounds. Aside from the free venue ( this included seating for over 100 outside for the ceremony, and inside the reception hall, rental of tables & cloths/cloth napkins/place settings, decoration and signage, free realm of virtually the entire building, outdoor decor setup and wedding arbor, and full cleaning services afterwards - remembering that totalled around $2500 over 10 years ago ) we still invested almost $5k in the wife's dress, ring set, some of the wedding party's outfits ( renaissance themed wedding, but my Mom ate some of that cost as her gift to us ), a monster 3 tier cake, a large catered spread of food/drink, open bar for wedding party only - all guests bought their own booze, a hefty donation to the minister, DJ ( bandmate of mine who's a pro, but chopped his fees ), and photography. That likely equates to 3x what we actually spent out of pocket had there not been financial help and freebies. If we had to do it today, all by ourselves, I completely agree with the $20k budget. Unreal what some of this shit costs and how bad the inflation has become.

GE's Nighthawk bulbs are supposed to be a better/brighter OEM replacement bulb, and seem to perform a bit better than Sylvania's Silverstars. Really up to the consumer who buys them, since this could almost be compared to a tire/oil thread. I dont like HID's due to the cost, and possible ballast failures - which leave you without an easy roadside replacement option like bulbs can

Doubt she'll have any adverse effects to her business from this. It's well placed, smack in the middle of gun-toting-hillbilly-central. It will likely increase her sales, not to mention her popularity.

Probably be a carbon fiber factory option offered at a mere $1899

I'm not able to go. Got my daughter that weekend. Be safe out there

Not so much Dayton area, but I go to Mike's Bike's just east of North Hampton on Rt.41 He swaps/balances off the bike for $20 a rim.
-
Hob, you change bikes more often than I change tires on ONE bike - nice ride though, congrats

Sign a waiver and a $10 dollar bill is all that's needed to run all day, I think? Grom with a 450 transplant? B-Mac and I were just talking about this at the Epic Ride, was only a matter of time before someone pulled it off

Damn, rough gig Sam. Lost mine to a passing car years ago. No matter how they go, it's always hard. What kind of dog is he?

This is absolute BS folks.....I MADE DINNER TONIGHT. She was just on the phone in the kitchen doorway

In essence, you guys are describing the basic idea of last years Doc's Double Dream Ride. Random groups of us overnighted in cabins and campsites. The same route was ran both days. But it wasn't as productive the 2nd day since rain was forecasted to move in, so iirc there were a lot less in attendance on day 2. We left late morning on day 2 because of chores at home, and too much to drink the night before Had a blast anyway, was nice riding a short 6 or 7 miles back to a cabin to retreat in a frothy hot tub and kickback with some drinks while the sun set. Making it a 2 day event would be nicer if the routes were different both days, just for sake of being different for those riders that are taking in both days. And I believe the whole idea stemmed from folks not able to make one day or the other, so the masses could congregate twice the same weekend and make it possible for as many of us as could be. Now, this isn't Deals Gap so group rates could be tough to make happen, but that would make it more affordable. And financially wouldn't make sense to overnight for the majority of us Ohioans, yet the convenience is really nice. Makes it feel more like a mini Gap trip when you are staying close by the good riding areas. I dont do night riding. Too much inherent risk with the very limited visibility and nocturnal critters attempting suicide. But day rides on scenic routes are killer, and a nice way to top off twisty rides. The LLC thing is under discussion, may manifest into something great or could just stay the same. Either way it goes, it will be a good thing. It's nice to have a large and localized group meet every year where we can all enjoy SEO together

No worries Mac, rather you ride where you felt comfortable. Just glad you came out. Good chattin with ya. Loved the Z, sharp ride.

I didn't take a single pic all day today. My primary focus was all about the route and meeting other riders. Glad to have met everyone, and see familiar faces again too. Ready for Epic Ride 2015 to get here already

Yeah, he got a bit ticked when he said "it's a 180hp bike" and I replied "That's it? Man that clutch setup must eat up some power then, huh?"

Talked to the owner that Friday evening. The burgundy bike was an older Suzuki VX800 frame, 900cc triple Arctic Cat 2stroke, with a custom stretched swingarm. He said it's about 180hp and geared to run up to 150mph. The primary cover was huge, but it's a centrifugal clutch snowmobile powerplant so there's no shifting to be done. Had a thumb throttle too. Clean build, but a wild concept.
