  1. Many of you know I'm a practicing metal musician. Nothing professional by any means of the word, but had my share of limelight over the last 20 years. I'd wager most every musician has a shortlist of inspirational talent that drew them into the instruments they love/learned to play. Well last night I not only met, but got to sit and hang with one of the few players that originally inspired me to play guitar way back when. Anyone even semi-fluent in 80's/90's metal will know of a band called Testament, and their original lead guitarist Alex Skolnick. If you're not into the metal scene, then he'd be known more commercially as the guitarist for Transiberian Orchestra over the last 9 years, as well as other independent projects in acoustic guitar works. He was in Dayton these past few days putting on guitar clinics at the University of Dayton, but I sadly missed out on those sessions. BUT a fellow bandmate of mine ( Neil Hixson ), who's also the club owner of Oddbody's Music Room, hosted a local metal show last night where Alex would make an appearance and join in on a metal-fan-favorite rendition of Black Sabbath's War Pigs with Dayton area band Engine of Chaos. After the show was done and the club closed up for the night is when the best part happened, some after-show personal time with Alex and his crew. We all sat at the bar and had some drinks on the house as Neil and I revelled in our company and shared music scene conversation for more than an hour. It will be a night we'll never forget, and being exposed to Alex on a more personal level was truly interesting. Neil has been a good friend for over 20 years, and a bandmate for 15. His corporate contacts and business sense has allowed me to meet quite a few of my mentors over the years, and last night was definitely a huge, cap worthy feather for me. I'm surely indebted to him for enabling me to meet a lot of my favorites in the music industry. Pics to follow...
  2. Awesome news, cant wait to read the build thread and see it in person
  3. I'd rather work with assholes than entire asses......some of the fux here are such absolute baffoons, it's amazing they dont turn blue from forgetting to breathe. THAT's how fucking stupid people are allowed to be anymore. And sadly, "we the people "cater to these idiots, when 250 years ago you'd die from the dumbass mistakes that these knuckledraggers make on a regular basis. If I had my own Delorean, Doc Brown and I would go back to the night of their conceptions and stomp their folks genitalia into useless puddles of shit...../rant
  4. Get a Condor ( much better quality than the looks of the stand you've pictured ) then have Quikaccord cut all the vinyl Triumph decals you want = superior garage
  5. That definitely sounds a bit greasy to me, not heard of this practice before and sends up a red flag for me also. I'd simply choose the most reputable business, take it there, and be done.
  6. AJ did a hell of a job rebuilding the CR, I rode it a couple seasons before he got it and it's a strong 250 compared to others I've had. Seriously, the pair in trade is a good deal and well worth the $4k you're asking especially with the engine spares included. But this 450 is a hell of a deal too, wish I was willing to spare the funds for it. GLWS
  7. You got a Grizzly Adams' beardly beard bro. Looks like a badger is camping on your face. I dont know how you guys put up with the maintenance. I have a lot of facial grain to grow a beard of serious proportion, only I lack the tolerance to get it grown out. Drives me ape shit after 2 weeks and shortly thereafter, off it comes. Sadly, I dont like being a furry fella. Shave my head/face every few days.

  9. Welcome back. Surely Cinci is a sad comparison to riding South Carolina. Which brought you back, work or family?
  10. No words can convey enough hope and strength to comfort anyone in this situation, or just being part of a situation like it. Has to be a feeling of absolute anguish and helplessness. So tragic to hear. Cant say much more than these fine folks have. We are here for ya
  11. What if a burning zombie leans up against the side of it? Log fortresses still burn
  12. Looks like a fun wheeler. Lift looks fresh in the first pic, what equipment did you go with?
  13. Rt 78 up to McConnelsville is all good, but after that I've no clue. Our Epic Ride route took 669 north at that point. From what I've seen, most roads out that way are good riding, but have heard there are some that may be chipsealed and rough.....but you ride a sumo, so no deal breaker there right? Others that know that side of Ohio better can chime in with experienced input
  14. Damn, thems some prehistoric fuckin wasps Oh, and someone should have told scooterific not to buy that helmet, it's obviously a crappy brand
  15. That mantis is definitely on bath salts if it's high enough to eat the face off a shit sucking fly
  16. Innovative. Wonder what the price tag would be on that?
  17. Thats one cool school to put on a music program like that. Your son did great, and seemed to enjoy the limelight. Give him props for us all!
