  1. Only the coffee table uses a keyed lock, the night stand's hidden compartment just pulls open via detent. I agree with your opinion about fumbling around keying a lock in the dark coming out of a sleep. But a middle of the night, break-in induced adrenalin dump would probably wake you/your motor skills fairly quickly I'd imagine.
  2. Here's another idea, but this one's on topic. I really like the concealment furniture concept vs a gun vault just stashed in a night stand drawer or under a bed. Thieves, and most kids, can likely identify a pistol safe/vault when they find one, whether it houses a weapon or jewelry - they know something in it is of value enough to protect, so it's simply a matter of getting it open at that point. And for a thief, they're easy enough to just take and bust into later at their own convenience. But hiding weapons in plain sight has the advantage of disguise by being completely inconspicuous to anyone unknowing. Afterall, what thief would steal a night stand? What kid cares enough about furniture to examine it's every seam and structure? These are pricier than pistol safes, but there again you are getting 2 benefits in that the gun is completely hidden away, yet it can be quickly accessed in a midnight hurry. Bear Arms concealment furniture makes this night stand and coffee table - there are several types of concealment furniture, but these are what I found on a quick search.
  3. Walking Dead theme is a good hook once you decide to sell it, best damn show on TV
  4. Touche' But I finally achieved perfection the 3rd time at the fall epic ride last year!
  5. Discontinued? Well that's shitty news, but I guess it's inevitable with everything. Do love my Field Armors. Can't say what else is comparable at that price since they're the only street boot I've worn since they hit the market.
  6. I'll continue to lead a medium paced group, Derek, no matter the route. If I get the route in advance, I can map study enough beforehand to pull it off as best I can. It's just nice having some familiarity in the mix. I was just getting quite confident memorizing the current route, but dont let that stop planning for a new route and meet point. I'll do my part if it's scheduled for a weekend I can go.
  7. Nice upgrade - So what's the paint scheme theme gonna be on the R1?
  8. I'm sure most barbers WISH ladies would ask for those. Signage would likely read... Ladies leg shave $20 Ladies "all the way up" leg shave special $15 Vulva job $FREE
  9. I use a power station in my tankbag. 3 power ports and 2 USB ports. I can simultaneously run the GPS, charge both our phones, and still have spare power sources. Wired straight from the Battery Tender tether, just plug and play. Cheap enough, around $20 last year iirc. Here's a link, but dont buy direct - they can be found much cheaper elsewhere online http://www.eklipes.com/EK1-214
  10. I like the route, especially since I'm learning it fairly well, but if the route does change - so be it. A lot of good riding to be had down there. I'm not a fan of the early season fog/cold mornings and evenings for the ride there and back, so early summer is my choice ( mid June ). I feel the Start/Finish point is a pretty good locale since there's a ton of open space allowing for a larger turnout. I honestly dont see where much improvement can be made on it all, good setup as is. But, if other ideas bring more of us out - I'm game
  11. Oh joy. It's winter AND Ringo's back to spew his Summers Eve all over this place. Well, welcome back anyway. I find it hilarious that his join date shows to be 12/30/15.....so am I to assume that's his ban deadline?
  12. Meh, our government will become a tyrannical tornado either way, so it's inevitable.....besides, I'm done making kids, although I still bug the wife into practicing with me anyway
  13. Parental negligence at a seriously ridiculous level. I swear, the more of these I see/read just makes me pray more and more for federal law to initiate a screening process to permit procreation in this country ( more regimented like the adoption process ), and I'm even more amazed she would be so careless with her tax deduction like that
  14. I could use some lessons, and Marysville isn't THAT far away
  15. The last time we rode down there, ( him, myself, my wife ) season before last, he led and we rode most of the popular route. If you have a googlemap or can simply pm me the turn points, that would be great Dustin
  16. Definitely looks like a cheap, fun toy. Never understood the rigid 3 wheelers. Honda could have at least thrown a short swinger/shock or sprung forks on it and kept it affordable. Hell, my first bike was a '77 XR75 and it had full suspension
  17. I hear ya Ben, would like to light the fire around western Ohio again like a few years ago. The wife and I do the annual Little York Tavern meet, but with it being put on in March it usually doesn't give folks much of a pre/post meal ride option due to shitty weather conditions. I'd like to host the Dayton route ride again ( Rt 350 / Ft. Ancient area ) but between my work/band schedules eating up weekends, it makes dedicating time every month next to impossible. Been a season or 2 since we last went riding down there, but last time we had a decent dozen or so riders show up. Too bad Porky Capones BBQ in Lebanon closed up, it was a good after-ride bbq meal stop to hang and chat at. Might throw a handful of our Piqua DQ rides together this year, but my route needs finess. Not a lot of good riding in Miami/Shelby counties without long drawn out periods of flat straightness to suffer between twisty sections.
  18. Thats a damn nice case for $20, if only I lived closer. GLWS, surely wont last long at that price
  19. I believe this should be a key element to the responsibility of pursuing a CHL. Someday it may eventually be deemed a requirement in obtaining a CHL ( I truly hope so ) since further training can never hurt, no matter how experienced a shooter feels they are. As for the Dayton Mall scenario, it's absolutely ridiculous that ANYONE should rob another at gunpoint for a pair of fucking shoes, much less anything else, but I guess I just cant rationalize a criminal mentality. Definitely a worthless waste of a life, and over nothing but a material posession that could be ordered/bought elsewhere/gone without. Silly to think that shoes can mean enough as to be willing to take a life over them, and what's likely even more ironic is that he probably had on decent shoes when he was attempting to rob the shooter of his new Jordans. Easier to get my head around it had the robber been homeless, or at least broke and shoeless. I understand the tentative thoughts behind whether or not carrying is a good idea since there could be coping issues after needing it for self defense......BUT, I would personally rather need some psychiatric care while still being alive to share time with loved ones instead of feeling comfortable with not having to decide between brandishing/shooting because I dont carry at all.
  20. Umm, no.....it's actually spelled "06+ ZX6R" Congrats on the passion relighting, will be good to see you back on 2 wheels bro
  21. Perfect gift, and nice wifeyness on her part. Congrats
  22. I've been reading on this same complaint, where and how to carry on-the-body vs. off-the-body with larger pistols ( current gun is an XDM, but pretty set on an XDS full-time carry next year ). G&A hosted this aticle, first timer or not it explains some good points to consider with your gun/holster choices http://www.gunsandammo.com/home-featured/how-to-choose-your-first-ccw-holster/
  23. Oh the marital woes this would create if I were to run off to have fun without her.
