  1. it is america, you are not allowed to discriminate.
  2. It is with much regret and remorse that I am typing up this add as I absolutely love this bike and it is everything I have ever wanted in a street bike. But the kids are growing too fast and want a boat. So, the family or lottery has to come first. 2010 SMT with Akro exhaust/map and SAS removed, 4k miles. New $14k + $3k Akro/SAS removal = $17k original investment. Asking $12k. (no ABS as that was not an option in '10) Bike is hardly ridden and never ridden hard. Original tires still have lots of miles left in them. If you don't know the bike, KTM SMT is a 990 twin with about 120hp and gobs of low, midrange torque. Commute, tour, twisties or milk runs - the bike can do it all well. Seating postion is upright dirt bike style with plenty of leg room for the taller set. Small windshield works well as I don't really notice with wind blast on the super slab. Akro + SAS removed the hesitation/surging that was common in stock form. Throttle is uber-responsive and gives an instant hit and the rear brake can squeal occasionally when hot but all SMTs do it. The bad - slight surface scratches on the right tank side, hand guard and brake lever as I lent it to a short friend and he had a tip over. Other than that, the bike looks as pristine as any Orange SMT photos you can find on the web. PM me and I can send pics of the scratches.
  3. I think the SMT is going to be sold. Kids want a boat and I should spend some time with them as the 14yr old won't be around much longer. But, a dirt bike is going to take its place. I was looking at the KTM EXC and XCWs today. Getting ready to search for a XR650 as well.
  4. I was out today. Headed east toward Cowan Lake and then stopped in to Clinton County Cycle to drool over the dualsports and get my chain adjusted. Beautiful day, sadly I have work to do tomorrow since I blew it off today.
  5. I went to the Outdoor show here in dayton and talked with the Goblin guys. The 2/10 vs 3/7 setup was quite interesting. The bikes looked nice but I have no desire for a 29er. A nice hardtail is still desired.
  6. Two slow I riders interested asI know my brother in GA would be up for it as well. I have never done Jennings and it is on the list. We have run Roebling Road in Feb. and it was fricking awesome (weather and track).
  7. ugh, how do you delte posts
  8. F the tablet, buy a laptop. Much more versatility between, web, games, movies, homework. WIth the holiday season coming, good deals will be coming along. I picked up a really nice laptop last year for $464 at Best Buy.
  9. Your too young, you missed the best piece of drug pariphenalia ever. http://www.adrants.com/2007/02/index.php?page=10
  10. Yes, as in Jeb throwing FL for his bro. W cannot be blamed because we all know that Cheney was the Prez. W is/was a dumb ass, silver coke spoon fed puppet.
  11. We have a black Whirlpool double oven that was removed because the wife wanted stainless appliances. Top has normal wear but bottom oven looks like new due to lack of use. Digital display. http://dayton.craigslist.org/app/4116647090.html Please, someone come get this off my porch.
  12. Note, you should never hold it flat either. So, all pre-game and olympic ceremonies that role out the big flag are in violation. You referencing this: 4 USC § 8 - Respect for flag Current through Pub. L. 113-31. (See Public Laws for the current Congress.) No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. (b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise. © The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free. (d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker’s desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general. (e) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way. (f) The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling. (g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature. (h) The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything. (i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown. (j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart. (k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
  13. Yes, Freedom of Speech will protect you. Can't do much if you get stoned with hardened bagels.
  14. LOL, I just bought a case of Paulaner Heiffy as supplies were low.
  15. Cyclocross bikes are good choice for a one bike quiver. Or, you can do what many have done is get a hardtail mtn bike and put road tires on the wheels (or, get a second set of wheels). You are not going to get much for $500 but if you do CL searches in cities like Seattle, Portland, SF, Denver > out East, you will be suprised what you can find. If you could bump up to $1,000, you can buy a bike that is worthy of upgrades and last the rest of your life. http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/bik/4103869921.html
  16. You really want to buy my '10 KTM SMT so I can get a Norton. Buying bikes is fun and there are lots of nice bikes out there.
  17. I so need to obtain a dirt worthy steed.
  18. In one of the articles I read on "The Beast," KTM stated the color of the demo model was not a production color because it fades too fast. Bummer, as it is a lot sexier than that production still. KTM ADV is one heck of a bike from the reviews. However, the 690 Supermono has my curiosity piqued. With the rc390 coming to the states, one can only hope the 690 supermono gets green lighted and makes it to our shores.
  19. Upright riding position, VFR you say: just wait and get this one:
  20. Well, I would sell you my SMT but the seat height may be a problem as it will deliver on all your requirments. The #1 best option for you right now is the Honda NC700X CrossTour as long as you are being honest about not wanting top end speed. For the amount of coin you have, you can buy a new one or come close. After that, look for the a Wee-Strom or V-Strom. Older Kawi Concours, Ducati Multistrada, or Triump Sprint ST will suit. http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/4096744167.html After that, BMW has been putting out bikes like you want for decades. Search for ST/GT versions. F800 or R1200ST are good places to start. The new F800GT is a solid option and will put you in the same category as the VFR only with more touring options available. http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/mcy/4083614626.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/4039797462.html
  21. Consider the environment and if the kids were shooting at kids going to school, then they got what they asked for. Had they learned the lesson that my grandfather told his son and his son told me, "NEVER POINT A GUN AT ANYONE, EVEN IF THE GUN IS FAKE!" I think I learned that lesson with my first pop gun or rubber band gun. 13 yr olds should know better if a 6yr old can learn the lesson. No sympathy here and I hope those kids and others near them learned an important lesson.
  22. definetly cut from another cloth, amazing. I so want to go over and see it live. only circle racers stop for precip, roadies go in the rain. F1 shot:
