  1. I spent almost 10 years in the tire/automotive racket and I still can't find them cheaper than on Tire Rack. Hate to say it, but they've got the game tied up. Now, I only buy name brand tires - you might be able to find some house brand cheaper, but to play with the big boys, TR has it stitched up...
  2. His WIFE bought it for him. Change his name to John Kerry.
  3. Let me pose the question here... watched SNL last night, and it's pretty horrible. There were few bright spots in the 30 minutes or so I could choke down. What happened? Here's my question: Was SNL really better when we were younger, or were we just at the age where it was funny and now we look back in a mist of nostalgia? Discuss! Also, Mumford & Sons is just awful. Maybe they're a better studio band, but an empty stage would have been better for those four minutes I won't get back.
  4. Welcome to OR! Keep the wife, sell the bike.
  5. I'd have to say, $3000 is likely a fair price, but considering the time of year, I would be prepared to take a little less - $2750? Not really an offer, but you can get a new one for $4200, and I'm sure that price will drop out once the 2013s hit the stores and the winter months come...
  6. I used the Eucerin lotion that comes in a little tub for my most recent two - used fragrance and additive free Curel for the other ones. I liked the Eucerin better, but you had to put it on three times a day (sometimes more) but I felt like it protected the skin a lot better. But hell, you're just about healed by now...
  7. Haven't been to the mailbox yet, but USPS says my knife is here - ordered 9/20, delivered 9/22 - from Arizona! If this is true, I have to say I'm impressed with the shipping if nothing else! Edit: Got the knife, no foolin'! Sharp as heck, too, and a pretty good size, bigger than I expected.
  8. I'd love one of these. Maybe in 20 years when momma lifts the bike ban...

    I'm back!

That turned out really nicely! Looks good, makes me miss mine!
  10. To answer the original question, I've seen a lot more recently, yes. But we also have a shit ton of construction down here in central Ohio, so I think they're patrolling more here out of respect for the safety of the workers.
  11. Damn it! Beat me to it. I was thinking of being more of an ass about it though. Carry on... Edit: "Sodder" is one who lays sod; "Sauder" is a village in Northwest Ohio that explores life in the 1800s. "Sauder" also makes furniture of varying quality. Couldn't resist.
  12. Man, that looks like all sorts of fun!
  13. You gave them the credit card number, right? I mean, I'd want my card reactivated.
  14. Be careful saying that - a group of my friends and I have all wrecked right after those words were said to us. Needless to say, we don't use that phrase anymore... Welcome to OR!
  15. I was able to get my info from this paperwork, but I had to get it at a specialty store. Can't remember where, but it wasn't Home Depot...
  16. I was able to find siding that matched my house in '07, but they've since gotten rid of the database that had the colors in it. I agree - take a piece off. At first, you could tell what was replaced, but after a few years it matched fine.
  17. I actually like this handle better for what I'd use it for (removing o-rings from air hoses at work - railroad speak for stabbing vagrants).
  18. Hopped on this one - missed the last one - funny thing is, just emailed a guy on eBay about this same knife, listed at $19.99. Glad I waited!
  19. Man, that looks like fun! What are your plans for it?
  20. Definitely doing my best - re-riveted the cable stop today. Wasn't happy with the way it was lined up. Need to finish stripping the paint and get it cleaned up, primed and painted. Headset and fork are in transit. I think just about everything else is here. Few odds and ends...
  21. I bought an ultrasonic cleaner a few years back and never used it - do a search online for carb cleaning and you'll find several ways that are just as effective that can be done in your kitchen without the ultrasonic cleaner.
  22. I thought this was pretty funny - more in the delivery than in the content. Some people are just better at telling a funny story than others...
