  1. If they're just glued on to the aluminum, get a set of plastic pry tools - I got mine at Harbor Freight - and pry them off - then you can get the adhesive off off the aluminum with a solvent.
  2. As far as the State of Ohio (I assume you're buying here) is concerned, ernest money is simply a sign of good faith that you will complete the transaction. It is not required by any statute or law. If you want it back, they are required to give it back. That being said, if you take back your deposit, it will probably end your transaction. If you want to negotiate, it's a good practice to let them keep it. But once again, this is all contract on a napkin/handshake over dinner type stuff. Nothing dictates the practice other than the two parties involved.
  3. You're right! (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/attorneys) I was just being a dick. FUCK YOU ENGLISH! What good are rules if you don't follow them? I'm going to start speaking Spanish... we'll all need to by 2020 anyways. (fanning the fire on this thread with that last comment )
  4. This resistor may cause an issue with the code being thrown, but I think you have another issue with the fuel pump. One of the troubles you run into when you deviate from stock is you really, REALLY, have to know your shit with some systems. Some systems have a failsafe, some don't, some work with a code, some don't. It's tough to say... we'd run into stuff like this a lot at Nissan and the more complex the vehicle, the bigger issues minor changes would cause. Sorry, I don't think that answered the question... Go to Radio Shack and get the correct resistor. Or find different directions?
  5. Good link Ben - very true - I worked at Meijer on Sawmill during college and saw a lot of this. I absolutely believe that there should be a temporary system to help folks get back on their feet. But that's not what the system is. It just makes me kind of sick, especially being someone who struggled a bit earlier in life and yet was never in a position to use these programs. It kind of pisses you off when you work a job and watch people who don't live a better life than you do. Not right.
  6. So, it's finally happened... my network of Facebook friends has expanded to the point that it now suggests either A) My Ex-fiance or B) Her Husband on a daily basis. Fantastic.
  7. I bought a VTR1000 that had relatively light rash damage and I was into it a couple grand to get it on the road again. You'll nicken and dime your way up. Now, $1500 is a pretty good price, so you can put a couple grand into it and still be ok. How much time do you have? Might be worth it.
  8. Sometimes the bike we own is the one we got a really good deal on
  9. I used to run Pick-N-Pull on Groveport Road - we were the highest volume salvage yard in Columbus. I can tell you with some confidence that if you find a stepside in a salvage yard in Columbus, the bed will be worthless or already gone. Fact.
  10. I'm lucky with the Virago - the engine is a stressed member so the whole frame bolts to it. I just unbolt everything and I'm left with the motor on he jack.
  11. If it makes you feel better, I have a yardmaster test on Friday?
  12. I've been looking into this too and I'm leaning toward VHT Case/Jug Paint - it looks like they have several steps - stripper; adhesion promoter; primer; paint. Good to 550 degrees, which is prectically exhaust temps and you cure by running the engine - no baking. I like it.
  13. I wonder what kind of bikes the Blast riders' husbands ride?
  14. Too bad he didn't get a close-up of the carnage...
  15. I have a friend very interested in this, but pictures are a must.
