  1. I was once called to testify as a witness downtown and spent three days in a room with a South Columbus Major Case detective. They had a similar injury - a guy shot one of the officers in the arm and then fell off his second story porch. Somehow managed to break just about every rib and really bruise himself up. Must have landed funny.
  2. Country Hearth Inn, Willard Ohio. Fastest Hotel Yet...
  3. I'm tempted... any pics of after the drop? Just curious to see what it looks like now.
  4. Welcome to OR! Another project! Awesome. Be sure to take pics, I like to read build threads.
  5. Shit, I can't get past level 1...
  6. This is fantastic. I love the "no job is too big or too small" picture...
  7. Great trucks - my father in law has one that he ran his landscaping business with. I was very surprised at how capable it is - he tows a loaded 14' trailer with it, and we've been on a long trip with 5 people in it - plenty of room for us and all of our stuff - the little "trunk" in the bed makes great use of space that's wasted in other pick-ups. GLWS!
  8. I apprciate it - I spent 10 years in automotive before I came out on the railroad, but I appreciate any advice. Code self-cleared... bah! I still would like to get in there and poke around.
  9. For what it's worth, as a buyer, there's not a whole lot a seller can do to you. Can't leave negative feedback for a buyer, the best you can do is file a non-paying bidder report. If they hit the buyer with a non-payment, the seller gets his listing money and final value fee back, and the buyer gets a "non-payment" strike, which you can't see anyways. Basically a waste of everyone's time. EBay is heavily biased for the buyer...
  10. That's pretty slick, actually. Once I get my bike done, I plan on getting a vanity plate for it. The bike is my one luxury... I drive a 97 Sable so that I can spend a little cash on my two-wheeled hobby. :-)
  11. I have my shitty mobile internet right now... I think the site is www.gsa.gov and then look for an auction link. Hope that helps!
  12. I drove past the mixing center at Walbridge Yard today - it was full of Chevy full size vans. All white, but all with windows. Brand spanking new thought! Thought of you... have you checked any government auctions? A lot of government agencies used full size panel vans... I doubt you'd find diesel, but you may get a good price.
  13. http://autos.yahoo.com/news/ford-reintroduces-the-1965-mustang.html Man, this is pretty cool. I'm impressed that Ford is doing this themselves. I'd love to build one of these, and let's be honest, $15k isn't terrible. They already make Gen II bodies (just not through Ford) and they're talking about making a Gen I Bronco? Even better! I'm going to get on my soapbox here - it's decisions like this that got Ford through the meltdown without borrowing government funds. Kudos to an American company for thinking outside the box to support it's followers. I worked at Nissan for three years, and my wife drives a Rogue just because I know exactly what I got when I bought it, and for the kind of money a new car costs, I need to know. But I'm proud to drive a Sable. And I'm looking hard at a Fusion/Milan when the Sable finally kicks it - hoping to get another 5 years out of it, and transmission willing, I will. Of the big three, I've always respected and preferred Ford. ChevySoldier, go ahead, take me to town...
  14. Hey - just saw this thread again - go ahead and sell that MC if someone else wants it. It'll be a while before I need it, I'll find another. Thanks!
  15. Man, this is a great deal. If I was more seriously in the market for something like it, I'd buy this in a heartbeat. I just need to stop watching Top Shot. I could start WWIII if I had every gun I wanted...
  16. It's been a while since I've been in an Avenger, but I'm pretty sure every Chrysler product is double din. Check http://www.crutchfield.com for fitment. And have you tried looking on eBay? Or head to a pick-your-part salvage yard? I'd think you'd be in to it about $30-$50?
  17. Last bump - OR price $30/$40 shipped, goes on eBay Saturday afternoon. Thanks guys!
  18. I ordered a set of snow tires for the Sable... I was hoping to wait until Thanksgiving time to put them on... ugh. Seriously though - for those determined to ride, be very, very careful. Most tires for motorcycles are not designed for temperatures much below 50 degrees. Make sure to ride accordingly.
  19. It's going to have to come out of another Chrysler product (Plymouth, Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler). It will be a double din - 100mm(?) versus 50mm(?) tall, like the imports.
  20. Thanks man! I figured it was carbon buildup somewhere - I'll check this next time I have a chance to wrench. I don't remember the code I pulled off hand, but it was EGR system efficiency or something like that - just a basic, "your EGR is fucked up" type code. Any way you slice it, I have to break one of the bolts on the tube loose - I did eBay a 1 1/6" crows foot to get it loose. I'll start at the top and work my way down.
  21. Well, here we go. Been playing around with different setups in the rear of the bike. Definately can't use anything but the Virago without re-engineering the whole rear end. Instead, I'll just re-engineer the wheel (have I heard that phrase before?). Sat down with my gauges, CAD program, and calculator and worked out this basic spacer for the XS wheel: This will mount between the drive flange and the wheel itself - the bolts that hold the flange on will just go through the holes on the spacer and the axle will go right through the whole at center - dimensions are 130mm x 10mm. Now I need to track down a machinist to make it for me. I figure this simple shape will cut down on machine costs and keep the balance neutral. Here's how I came up with the thickness - first off, it looks right. Second off, the plastic ring that protects the gearing it 20mm on the XS wheel and 30mm on the stock Virago wheel and on the XJ1100 wheel I had mounted up as well. That leads me to believe these two wheels are 10mm wider on that side. The spacer I got off the XJ1100 axle axtually spaces the other side of the wheel perfectly, and with the previously decided machine work on the brake caliper mounts, the brakes bolt up as well. I think we have a weiner!
  22. I like this. Too bad my wallet doesn't. Friggin' wallet...
  23. Some .pdfs are editable to print, like you're describing. Some are not. I think if it is, it is, and if it's not, it's not. Sorry I couldn't help more than that...
