  1. Roughly 11k. Would have had more but the weather in the late fall this year is worse than usual.
  2. I am not sure, but heading up the night before seems to make the most sense. Another dumb question: does or will everyone have an EZPass? I don't travel on toll roads often, so I don't have an EZPass transponder. I usually find out the tolls ahead of time and put the exact amount in my tank bag for each toll booth, so I don't have to remove my gloves. If I am the only one without one, I can order it.
  3. If it goes on 6/12, I have a green light.
  4. You may need to update the software on your Sena. I have the standard SMH10,and there was an update that significantly uncreased the maximum volume coming from the speakers. The updates are pretty easy to do.
  5. That good Samaritan interfered with the robber's civil rights. The robber was clearly entitled to the store's cash.
  6. I need to work for an embassy. $180,000 in alcohol.
  7. I have the wife's buy in. Trying to get the summer vacation plans locked in with the kids and extended family. Things are coming together. As stated in previous post, the route from Cbus does look easier than leaving from NE Ohio. Hopefully someone else from Central Ohio wants to go. 8. I have test ridden some bikes for friends to give them an honest opinion. In these instances, the bikes were significantly bigger than their current bike or they were new riders. I always showed up ATGATT on my motorcycle, which have always been larger than the test ride bikes. No one ever demanded cash in hand to test ride, but I also don't come off as a squid. The last bike I sold was a VTX1800, and I was very hesitant to allow test rides due to the size and heft. I allowed the eventual buyer to ride it after he had the financing lined up.
  9. I am at 50/50. If the timing works out, I will depart from Central Ohio.
  10. Welcome. Enjoy the nice roads in Southeast Ohio. They are the funnest to ride in the state.
  11. I want to do it, but it would take a perfect storm to get the necessary schedules of work, wife, and kids to line up. I am going to keep an eye on this thread in case a can get the timing to work out.
  12. A stock C14 runs mid 10s in the 1/4 mile. Not bad for a sport touring bike. I have a Guhl re-flash that opens the butterflies all the time. On a number of occasions, the front end has come up off the ground without using the clutch in first gear. It happens when the pavement is not real even and I have WOT. It is no ZX14,but it will keep up with most bikes. It is all day comfortable. It is by far the best all round bike I have ever owned.
  13. The biggest detriment is the lack of concern or education by the population at large. How many of the laws are actually read by our lawmakers? (Not all of them, and they are getting paid to not read that garbage). I would vote to disallow attorneys to be in Congress. They have a vested interest in making extremely difficult and complex laws, so they can propagate the profession.
  14. What about setting up a 1000 saddle sore ride that ends at Desks Gap in coordination worth the OR Deals Gap trip? I would potentiaiy be interested in a group saddle sore trip to either SD or other destination.
  15. Bicycle shorts and a hydration pack are definitely mandatory for long rides like this. They greatly reduce fatigue. I also like the idea of taking I77 to I70. There will be less traffic, less likely someone can cut you of while fatigued from a long ride.
  16. Way to go students! I am sure the majority of Alumni are proud.
  17. My initial thought was running down I71 & I75 and hit US129 through the Tail of the Dragon from Cbus. I would then head east toward Asheville, NC. I could take I26 north to I81. I could take I81 to I77 back to OH. Jump off at US 33 back to Cbus. The best thing about winter is that I will have plenty of time to plan and think about it.
  18. I have been considering trying to get a saddle sore 1000 certificate. I have a Russell Day Long Seat on the way, and I have ridden many a long trip. Last year I rode 16.5 hours in a day. Unfortunately slightly under 300 miles were the Blue Ridge Parkway, and I didn't keep an exact count on mileage for the day. I have read the IBAs websit, and I am in the preliminary stages of planning. Departing and completing near Central Ohio will make it more palpable to my better half. How many have tried , completed, or tried & completed? Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated. It was either this or run a full marathon, and I much prefer riding a motorcycle to running.
  19. Somewhere, a father either didn't do his job of raising his daughter, or he is rolling in his grave.
  20. That would be a good way to teach circuits. Much more interesting than the way we were taught.
