  1. Looks like my Camaro is perfectly suited to the 11.50 class..........hmmm Maybe I'll have to show up to one of these and see how it goes.
  2. I will be out, rockin the Miata. Camaro goes under the knife this weekend.

    Hello!

Hey OP you have to post again, so why not show some pics?
  4. Make sure the PCM recall was done to the Vibe, otherwise at least its better then an Aztec.
  5. Hey now 3800 V6s from GM were great engines, a few minor leaks aside it was bulletproof. 3100 3400s are a different story. I wouldn't own the new 3.6l V6 for any length of time either.
  6. The Aztec is ugly, and I would consider it a bastard of all GM's worst ideas. Having worked on some at the dealer I have done headgaskets (not only on those but lots of 3.4s), wheel bearings, corroded connectors by the gas tank where it goes through the floor, body control modules (they control the rear hatch and have to work for the hatch to open), stupid squeaky suspension bushings that happen to be molded to the control arms and knuckle, broken window regulators, and that's just what comes to mind. Run away.
  7. Cadillac CTS? The newer ones seem really nice, their new Cue system should take care of all his nav, audio wants. A laid out Regal turbo? Not sure of your friends definition of fast.

    Oh Lima

Bet this is one of UNOH's drop outs. http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/4322247887.html
  9. This. Jones has to realize this isn't an autocross, it's about making power and getting the car down the track. To run a competitive car on something short of a drag radial would be very dangerous.
  10. Get some leaf springs and correct the driveline angle with shims between the springs and axle or cut the mounts and weld them back on in the desired angle. Putting together a 4 link has the potential for many issue, the first being proper welding. Having the ability to get proper penetration and strong consistent welds is paramount with suspension components, a task I wouldn't attempt even with the right tools. That is a job I'd leave to pros. What kind of liability would you incur if you're driving down 315 on your way to C&C with your 2 kids and one of thos links comes loose?
  11. Happy birthday old dyno god. Lol.
  12. I'm not, if you consider all the footing and extra concrete poored around the perimeter to support the dome. Now that's not to say the dome isn't unstable but it wouldn't be the first to go.
  13. This is how I see it. If it can legally be driven on the street, then its a street car. I am also a fan of making a 20 mile loop. And for the record, I will not be competitive in these classes and will not compete, so I will volunteer to be an impartial judge.
  14. I'm happy that you got lucky with it. Now hopefully the belt outlasts the car.

    Trolls

Look a wild Sadist appears. This thread is for the lulz.
  16. Well on the bright side nobody was there to get hurt. Still amazing to me the odds of all the places for a sink hole, it swallows the only 1983 Corvette.
  17. Well best of luck seeing the valves with a scope, that's not easy to do when your spark plug hole is on top between the valves. You're not going to see damage to the valves from up top it will only bend the end. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but a leak down is the only way to prove anything short of pulling the head. Now if you have a smoke machine you can put smoke through the spark plug hole instead of air pressure. Best of luck.
  18. Not sure if it's an interference motor or not, but the ones I've pulled apart after the belt breaks typically just ding the pistons and bend some valves. So what is typical is removing the cylinder head and having a machine shop repair it. A proper leak down test on all cylinders would confirm if there is damage or not, if it was my car I do a leak down before pulling the head on the chance it isn't hurt.
  19. Had my reception at the same place 14 years ago, quality hasn't changed. A very nice place, though I doubt it's cheap.
  20. Granted I was only at a Subaru dealer for 10 months, but I've seen every engine have head gaskets leak. I will say that it's mostly the SOHC timing belt engine that I typically saw. Sorry OP can't help you, but doing a timing belt on one isn't a big deal, so if you're in doubt just do one.
