Finished up rebuild of calipers and master cylinders yesterday and installed them. Attempted to install new custom made lines but turns out they were custom made for a z1000 not a ZRX.

I'll meet up with you guys in New Concord if you don't mind. What's ETA there? Or will you have tracker turned on?

I'm in. Assuming the February ride to check out the meet spot was a medium pace. Medium group -
Added bonus. Good shine should be damn near as effective as penicillin

Reservation made

Mid Ohio in MtVeron will allow some demo rides. Was told demo wasn't a problem. Now if you go in wanting to ride three different bikes it might be. If you have your list narrowed down to the vulcanS it would be worth checking them out.

Did some cutting on the rear fender and made brackets for different taillight. Not finished but mocked up and looks like it'll do

Been doing some more searching and... Some of the tomtom units can be had for little $$. Seems quite a few folks run them on bikes but gotta keep them dry. I'm thinking for all the more I would use it could be the ticket. Anyone here used one?

Thanks. Different bike. That was my 1100 and this is the 1200 project I just started. Both swingarms are stock the 1100 is different it's all tube.

Yep but wife wanted blue. I'll slip some Kawi green in before it's done

Sounds like the phone might be my best bet. Guess I didn't realize how much a decent gps unit was. $600 on a set of shocks I can justify to myself but not a gps. Seems it would be great for long trips though. Maybe next season.

I've never owned a gps before but thinking of getting one for the bikes. I would like to know what brand/model most folks like and what to stay away from. Basically I don't know shit about these things.

Top clamp, masters, and controls painted. Tires mounted on freshly powdercoated wheels

Thanks. Was hopeful I'd have it done before epic ride but still waiting on parts from across the pond. Getting closer though. Valves done, new plugs, timing advanced, all emissions shit now blocked off inside the head, new coolant lines, stainless header installed, forks serviced and springs swapped out. Still managed to get out on the mean streak for a couple hours.

Rebuilding calipers and master cylinders sucks. 5 of 14 pistons were frozen and system full of 16 year old fluid.

+1 for Fontana dam tuckaleechee caverns a ways north of deals gap is one of the coolest things I've ever seen gatlinburg/ pigeon forge traffic is absolutely horrible Ditch that trailer. Hammering down 119/23 was one of the best parts of my trip last year

Nice looking bike! The breakout is probably my favorite in the Harley line up. That duc is gonna feel like a dirt bike on steroids when you take it around the block. That's how my 1100 feels after riding my mean streak for a while. May as well keep them both there's nothing like options when you open the garage door!

I've been through quite a few carry guns including a shield and ended up with a 380 LCP. Definitely not my favorite gun but absolutely the one I'm most likely to grab on the way out the door. Not a range gun but perfectly capable of hitting a man sized target at a reasonable distance. Slip one in a remora holster and you have many Cary options.

Got the paint finished up on the 1200. Took an extra day because it seems every time you pick up a spray gun something will go wrong. Ended up with a pretty nice pearl white. Went on pretty smooth just needs a touch of cut and buff. Tried to get a pic but pearl doesn't phot very well.

Pulled the air box and carbs. Carbs sent to a fella in Arizona for complete disassembly, dip, all new o-rings & gaskets and reassembly with jet kit. Entire brake and clutch system pulled. Working on caliper and master rebuild along with new lines. Body work ready to paint and with a little luck will be pearl white this time tomorrow.

Hands down best tire lubricant I've used is ruglyde. Made the job much easier most likely because that what it's made for. Napa carries it, about $20 for a big ass jug. Use plenty. Like mentioned in another post a couple 2x4's can make for a decent bead breaker just be sure not to put pressure on your rotors. I've done a dozen or so with my harbor freight set up and it's pretty handy.

Made a little progress on the 1200 Sent about a dozen parts to powdercoat including the wheels. Removed all the bodywork to get ready for paint and flushed out the cooling system. I've found a few surprises here and there but nothing to bad.

Today I put the 1200 up on stands. Pulled the wheels off, peeled the tires and rotors off and knocked out the bearings. Wheels and half a dozen other parts headed to powdercoat tomorrow. It looked like a ups truck hurled on my porch when I got home. New header, mid pipe and can. Jet kit, hoses, lines, caliper kits, mirrors, gaskets and block off plates. Some new body parts ordered from Germany as well. What the hell just happened! This was gonn be a small project.
