  1. Wonder what the first new production model would look like? I crossed up a Kawi and a Duc and like how it turned out. Duc and hog not so sure about
  2. Looks like it'll start soon on the north end where it splits from 800. Road is covered with paint markings
  3. I just couldn't resist. So let's hear it. What do you like, ride, want?? Don't have a lot of experience here myself because my first was a 750 then 1000-1100-1600-1200. Thinking I only stayed with bigger bikes because they generally have some nicer options like adjustable suspension and such. This question popped into my head while covering 300 miles of glorious 2-lane today. My slightly modified zrx weights in around 450lb with 138hp and just shy of 100 ft lbs of torque geared 1 down 2 up. I'd consider myself a decent rider but today when I decided to reall try and ring the bikes neck I found there to be way way way more bike than rider here. Lots of fun though. Loving this bike. Guessing a smaller more nimble bike bike would make you a better rider though? Force you to be in the right gear, pick the best line and carry a bit more entry speed vs having a big inline to pull you from moderate speeds to what the fuck just happened in the blink of an eye even in the wrong gear seems to me there are pros and cons both ways
  4. 536 Is open. Pretty clean as well. @EOdesmo it's always a pleasure bumping into you. Too bad we were headed different directions.
  5. Kinda thought you'd be the fella to answer this one. Sounds like I may pass you down that way. If I pass you slow up I'll work my way to your mirrors. Will be on the white Rex not the red Rex. Speed safe!
  6. If you think that's messed up shit then stay tuned for page 16! Guessing it's not getting any better. Pretty sure I'll have another bike in the garage before this thread ends.
  7. Gonna try to get a bit of a ride in tomorrow before the storms hit. Anybody been down 536 lately. Torn between the river and hocking. This could be deciding factor.
  8. Calendar marked and this time gonna avoid roads beginning with the letter I. The slab sucks!
  9. Cabin was nothing special but fairly clean. I really didn't spend much time there because the weather was great and I was there to ride motorcycles not watch tv. The down side for me was not being able to contact home most of the time and a long way to go for a 12pk of Miller lite. Upside is leaving or coming back you get to rip down 28 and being able to bullshit around the fire at night without anybody bitching is pretty cool
  10. The first leg of that trip was excellent. Some of those sections were damn tight and made for much fun I was smiling like a fuckin clown behind my visor. Didn't want the fun to end so 119 was almost steady felony speed and I made up enough time to 2-lane back through SE Ohio. Right at 600 miles when I pulled in this evening. Absolutely great day! Thanks for letting me tag along this morning.
  11. Absolutely nothing but put gas in it and ride it. First day in a week I haven't tweaked, adjusted or filed something. While at Fontana had to fix brake linkage issues, pull the ignition cover and reseal it and make a dozen little adjustments. Not bad for leaving the day after I thought I was finished with the build and riding through a half dozen states. Seems pretty solid now after a 2,000 mile trip.
  12. Looks like one of the fellas from the smoky mountain crawl is trying to steal his bike
  13. Headed north this morning. Had a great time and it was good to meet some more board members. Was my first O.R. Trip down here and I'll be back next year. Have fun and be safe ish.
  14. Made it. 600miles today. Mostly uneventful but....just past the Senic overlook headed south on the tail I grabbed some rear brake and had nothing. Linkage busted. Hunted down wheelers shop that I've heard so much about and I'm back in business.
  15. Bikes loaded down and fueled up. Heading out no later than about 2am. Hope to catch up with some of the early birds in the afternoon. What's another couple hundred miles.
  16. eBay item # 311793080143 listed for a 2011 vaquero looks like all the 1700's up to at least 2016 use the same setup. Unfortunately mine is a 1600
  17. That sucks. If it was a swap from my meanstreak I'd offer you a loaner but I believe they are different. Sorry. Looks like a functional used set on eBay located in Huron Ohio. $50 might be a good back up plan you could resell if not needed and I imagine they could get those to you pretty quickly.
  18. Odds are good if that 250 was jerky while doing low speed maneuvers you just haven't got your clutch control under control. Those little engines have a lot of pulse so if your not smooth on the clutch you're gonna feel it at the wheel. Do the same on a powerful bike and it will take off and leave you behind. Basics are much easier to learn on a smaller more forgiving bike.
  19. I'll be in sometime Wednesday. Haven't nailed down route or when I'm leaving so who knows when. May be early just to miss some traffic on the way down.
  20. Agreed about turn in. Got the roadsmart 3s mounted up and a few hundred miles on them. Running same pressures they seem to give a little softer ride and definitely drop in quicker than angel gt. That's gonna take some getting use to but so far nice ride and the grip seems good.
