  1. Due to the old school aerodynamics you may be able to draft behind my ZRX. It cuts through the wind like a brick.
  2. Took 119 down last year and it is a nice stretch for a 4 lane. Worst part is we were staying in pigeon forge and took 81 over from Kingsport. That was horrible! Asheville route looks much more entertaining.
  3. I've put zero thought into getting to the gap so I'll be taking the slab south in the wee hours of the morning Wednesday. Any riders or groups have a more interesting route and not mind the company? Might be able to get together.
  4. New tires mounted up and I think I got the carbs where I want them
  5. Definitely the worst one I've seen
  6. Maybe just a short closure? I couldn't find anything either. Said he got to talking with a group of guys on sport bikes and they were bitchin about it being closed
  7. Buddy of mine is in Gatlinburg this week. Said the tail is closed due to mudslides. Better this week than next.
  8. Saw this post after I ordered a set. Thanks anyway. It probably would have worked out. I ordered Roadsmart 3 next day shipping right at $250 set after rebate. I do my own mount and balance. Really surprised next day shipping wasn't more. $19
  9. Thanks for the info. Been thru 3 sets of the angels with no issues. Will be a toss up between those and roadsmart 3. Gonna ride up tonight and see what pony has.
  10. Well thanks to a nice chunk of rust steel I'll be needing tires before the gap trip. Figure I'll pick up a set of angel GT's tomorrow. Anyone here tried dunlop roadsmart 3.
  11. Just the last 5-10 miles of that stretch. Wanted to give a heads up though. It gave me a new respect for loose stone signs.
  12. Heads up sr83 a little ways south of Cumberland is chip and sealed. Mostly southbound lane to sr78 Lots of loose stone
  13. Heads up sr83 a little ways south of Cumberland is chip and sealed. Mostly southbound lane to sr78 Lots of loose stone
  14. Thanks for the comments fellas. Took a few blasts down the road today and everything feels good. May need a little more fine tuning. I had the carbs apart twice adjusting needles but may have to do again. Bike runs amazing, stronger than my 1100 but I got a good bit of exhaust pop on deceleration I'd like to tune out.
  15. First ride since I tore it down. Gotta couple more things to do but couldn't wait anymore. Damn thing was begging to go down the road
  16. Almost forgot to mention a nice rack and a well shaped saddle.
  17. Came home to a set of beautiful Italian twins!!
  18. Zrx1200 almost done. Brakes are all rebuilt, on, and bled out. Body work installed. New battery installed. Carbs in and synced. Seat and shocks should be here by weeks end. A few loose ends to tye up and I'll be ready to take her down the road. Looks like it should be done in plenty of time for the gap trip.
  19. Good roads. Great weather. Was good to meet up with some of you guys again and be able to meet some more. Will see quite a few of you again in about 3 weeks.
  20. Have you considered putting it on a dyno? Thought about doing that with the zrx's. Not sure of good place to do that around here. Guys on the zrx forum swear by that method.
  21. Thanks. Took advantage of the cool weather after the storms and worked on it till the wee hours of the morning. Figured I wouldn't be getting up for the ride since it was cancelled. Turns out there's plenty of guys still heading out so I'm gonna have to shake out the cob webs and get moving.
  22. Though I can't argue with results. Not the best pearl job I've seen but my first and I'm pretty pleased.
  23. Finally started the cut and buff on my 1200 bodywork. Reminds me laying on paint is the easy part. Kinda funny how this shit works really...sand...prime.....sand............paint.......sand again..polish getting sick of this sanding shit
