  1. If you spread it out to 1 beer an hour, each hour, you probably wouldn't feel much of anything (other than tired for being up 24 hours straight).
  2. How about not spend any money, and save up for a mod that you will actually notice.
  3. I would have to measure mine, but my Malibu is noticeably wider than my Sea Ray was. 21' vs 17' boat. If you are thinking about that Fling in the garage sale section, I would do some research..
  4. These boats are 14'2", running an inefficient OMC jet drive. The boat is called the Fling, offered w/ both a 90 hp and 115 hp motor option.
  5. When I grow up, I want to never work again. Basically, win 100 million in the lottery (that I don't play) and live on the interest the rest of my life.
  6. Hopefully they throw the book at that guy.
  7. 10000k is pink. 6000k is in the blue range. A quick google search would tell you all of this.
  8. Kenwoods seem decent enough. I put one in the Sea Ray around 2001, and it is still working strong. CD didn't skip even over the hardest chop, which is uber important on a boat. Kenwood's Navigation units use Garmin, which is a nice plus. Their single DIN stuff doesn't look nearly as nice as other makers.
  9. Just barely missed it - we pulled the Sea Ray out of the water only a few minutes before is started to come down hard. Took the Malibu out later in the day, only to get hit by rain again!
  10. I figured this much. But since it is only $5 and near where I work to do it, I'll just make her legal. Looks like LJ will be doing the same with his new boat.
  11. LJ asked me this, I haven't found the answer online, and need to know for my Malibu as well (which doesn't expire until 2014). I never had my Sea Ray checked in the 11 years I've had it, so I'm not really worried about rocking it illegal, as the sticker is current. I recall the last time I renewed the Sea Ray, I was able to do it at the BMV near Andersons in Reynoldsburg (just had to pay cash, no checks/CC for some reason). Looking online, it looks like only a few places do boat registrations now - around here either the headquarters for Ohio in 43229 and a place near Alum on S Old State. I know a bunch of folks recently bought boats, so I figured someone would have some insight on this.
  12. USB is the suck. Get one that controls the iPod. Pioneer sells units that control iPods with some that will control iPhones as well. I have a Premier DEH-980BT and just keep a old 20GB iPod in my Avalanche as basically a portable hard drive, and use the head unit to control it - works well, and have been doing it for years. I also stream Bluetooth audio, such as Pandora, to the unit as well. The mobile phone part of the Bluetooth is so-so, but works.
  13. According to: http://www.lrh.usace.army.mil/_kd/go.cfm?destination=Page&Pge_ID=1237 http://www.ohranger.com/senecaville-lake http://www.senecalakecabins.com/wildlife.html http://www.ohiooutdoors.com/ohasp/ohioL2.asp?DivID=15&PageID=5&OOSection=Camping It is 299, which is what I have always recalled it being. Wikipedia and a couple other sites list it @ 399. It is possible it changed recently and these sites are not updated - though that first link "should" be the most updated website. I guess if I went there I would bring all the links that were in my favor for 399 with me.
  14. Seneca is awesome - but it does have a HP limit of 299HP, so I can't take my new boat there. I wouldn't call it huge either, but it one of the nicer lakes in Ohio and is big enough.
  15. Way overpriced. You can get a brand new 2011 2SS for 35-36k at a local dealer without even negotiating. And since new car financing is better than used car, your monthly payment would likely be lower, so why pay more for month for a used, year older car with 32k miles?
  16. Just to reinforce, we went there in 2008; wasn't on the water 10 minutes and destroyed my prop - couldn't drive above idle. Hit a stump in the water. It is as shallow if not more so than Buckeye but with a lot more hard stuff at the bottom. We did sneak into the Elks lodge (or whatever private lodge it is) and sneaked some cheap beer. Otherwise, it was a neat area. I wouldn't take anything but a jet-boat or PWC out there, and would still worry about scraping my hull.
  17. It is way overpriced - that SHOULD be a 150kish car for what it is/how it performs. That said, it is far, far, far from an Avalon, and is a technical marval for sure. People hate it because of the price - priced properly, there would be a lot of love for that car.
  18. V-drive or a direct drive? I've been to Cumberland with my Sea Ray before and had a blast; I love that lake! It will fit in my garage with the tower folded down on the double deep side. I am going to experiment in a couple weeks to see if Janet's Audi and the Formula can still find in there or not - we will see. I'll pull the swim platform (very easy), and fold in the trailer tounge then see how it goes. A good 1/3 or more of my neighbors have detached garages - all of which match their homes and are very nice. I'd have to do the same. It is in the future plans, probably not next year, but maybe the year after. This year was the boat, and that's a wrap. I need to find a place now that sells bimini tops for wakeboard towers and doesn't try to charge crack head prices in the process (some of these things are $900 - seriously, it's a minor amount of nylon canvas, a couple aluminum tubes, and a few hooks/straps - probably $50 in material tops).
  19. Sciatica that was flared up very badly a couple months ago. Walking was barely an option. First time in my adult life I ever actually cried in pain - thank god for steroids and muscle relaxers!
  20. - Hour meter isn't displaying, owner said it just started doing that. Bought it off a pretty wealthly guy that lives on Griggs that has a covered boat dock with a lift, which is where he kept it (I think I recall seeing this boat on his dock when we had our condo on Griggs). I don't believe it has a lot of hours though. - Hasn't been sitting at all. Owner bought it when his son lived here, as his son wakeboards. His son moved to Florida 2 years ago and the owner said he had no use for a wakeboard boat, as he was just putting around in a 375HP boat. He ended up buying a deck boat. He had an employee of his rebuild the brake system on the boat and putting bearing buddies in the axles last fall. Don't limit yourself to those three brands. Supreme, Sanger, Air Nautique (okay, those are stupid expensive), Centurion, Moomba, Gekko, Calabria, Supra, etc. all make nice wakeboard boats and inboards. 2001 - first year for the diamond hull. Reviews all say it puts out a pretty decent wake with the wake plate, and a very rideable wake with some balast. I'm going to re-do the balast setup it currently has, as it only has the passenger tank for wake surfing it seems. I'll be fine this season with just the wake plate anyway. I drove it over another wakeboard boats wake on Griggs and it handled it pretty well - better than my Sea Ray does! What do you have?
  21. I'm selling my Sea Ray 160, I'll take $4000 CR price. I/O open bow ski boat, but you can easily fish off of it. Just throwing the option out there.
  22. If the weather holds out, we may take it out there. http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/8346/dsc02907u.jpg http://img861.imageshack.us/img861/6374/dsc02904e.jpg http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/9890/dsc02901ba.jpg
  23. On our test run, she made more power than she needs. Supposed to do 51 MPH on the current prop (didn't have the pickups for the speedo down). I'll have to load her down with balast and the wake plate to see if I should repitch for more speed, though these boats are not meant for speed, they are meant to be ultimate tow boats.
