  1. <--- Happy he knew better than to ever live in a dorm or dorm-like situation. There is ALWAYS a way to get around living in a dorm. I think I'd rather be slapped in the nuts once a day than live in a dorm........
  2. The wing looks pretty gay. And can't they just make economy cars for ECONOMY?? At least it is a 2-door. If it were AWD w/ some more power, then it might be worth a look.
  3. My roomate's 94 GT had 2 broken coil springs (both passenger side springs/1 broken, one badly cracked). Of course the car has 192k on the clock, and the only way it was noticable was the car liked to hop when sliding the tail around on left hand turns.
  4. Oh, and as for the price of the car. I played on Chevy.com, and the most expensive C6 coupe you can build is 56,165.00. That includes every possible option from Onstar, dual roof panels, upgraded rims, navagation, extra cost paint, EVERYTHING. Base MSRP is $44,245.00 The convertiable is $63,355.00 with everything possible. Base is $52,245.00. Of course base on these cars still has a ton of stuff to them (leather, HID's, active handling control, power seats, windows, mirrors, locks, keyless entry/keyless start, etc.). All out of my price range though. That said, once they are easily available at a dealer, they will be had for far less than MSRP. GM loves to offer all sorts of incentives lopping thousands off of the MSRP.
  5. No. (yes, anything is possible, but that's not a realistic swap). Who would think that car is anywhere close to totalled?? A few thousand in damage, but far from being totalled. I bet the owner was mighty pissed, as I'm sure he paid a nice price premium to get an early C6.
  6. That's a Wings West Commando wing......I wish that stupid wing had never been created. I've seen a number of cars with it installed; saw one in PA that was actually done right on a T/A where they blended it into the stock spoiler where it mounts perfectly (made it look like one big piece) yet it still looked retarded. That Supra looks retarded. I guarantee it has been ran hard too....someone probably just took off the go-fast goodies and put the stock parts back on.
  7. I don't really recall what it ran last time I ran mine N/A...it's been a couple of years. I figure if I spent the money to go to the track, I might as well see how fast my car can go on the spray. I'm thinking it was around a 12.4's at 112, but I only made a couple of passes N/A, more as just getting a feel for the car before spraying it for the day rather than seeing what it can run N/A. I guess the next time my car sees the track I'll try to find out what it actually runs N/A.
  8. I'd say the smooth running was more because of putting new plugs in than the kind of plug. I personally run NGK TR6's (too cold for your application, TR55's are a good stock-replacement plug). I'd remove that JET crap. Get a custom tune (and on a near stock car, that's a waste of $$), or leave the PCM stock. I haven't heard of many people running JET stuff on the LT1's, but many have w/ the Hypertech's with lean results (sometimes in the dangerously lean catagory) and same (and in some cases lower) dyno results over stock. I'd venture to guess JET is about the same. There isn't really a whole lot to gain out of tuning mods on a stock LT1; changing the fans settings helps a bit, and you could lean things out slightly and bump up timing slightly while still being safe, but the HP gains are negligable at best. And get headers. It is a night and day difference doing plugs with my long tubes vs. my manifolds; I've done mulitple plug changes w/ both setups. W/ stock manifolds it isn't that hard once you figure out all of the tricks. With headers, I can do them all from up top without removing anything (though a few are just easier from the bottom).
  9. Because people like to have the body parts on their cars match, so it doesn't look like it was pieced together in a junk-yard. $400 doesn't seem like a bad price for a painted cf hood. From the pic it looks like it fits on the car pretty well.
  10. I don't know what's sicker, the puke on the ground, or a red 4th Gen T/A scratched to hell with a purple fender.
  11. I've messed with enough E-machine desktops to know that I won't buy anything w/ E-machine on it, regardless of who owns the company now/what the product is. They are cheap for a reason.
  12. The problem is bringing in that kind of revenue on a continuous basis. Not only is it 40k/month for just payments on the place, you have to pay employees, insurace (which is probably pretty hefty), utilities, taxes (again, hefty), upkeep, etc.....that adds up to a lot of money a month. The problem is that most racing series don't run year-round. Add to that you have to have this place books almost daily w/ big weekend events to generate that kind of money. Not easy to do. Of course if I was just rolling in Bill Gates kind of cash, I'd have something like that. I'd tear out the motocross track and do a nice drag-strip there instead.
  13. My 95 Jimmy (w/ electronic cruise) will set a 25MPH, but nothing below that. It's great for going through 25 MPH speed traps. smile.gif I think my car does as well, but it's been so long since I tried setting it at that low of a speed I don't remember for sure. But I'm 100% sure on the Jimmy, as I've done that a number of times on my g/f's campus w/ the cops out and about.
  14. Cars: 1989 Prelude Si-Sold =) 1995 GTS-Sold =*( 1991 Civic HB Si And you think a V12 Ferrari sounds like crap!!!!!!!!! graemlins/nonono.gif
  15. What the hell is your problem. Mad that I don't envy your 80's K car?? I've said on here BEFORE that I think the GT500 is a sweet car, just priced higher than it should be; should have been priced to compete directly with the 911 AWD Porsche Turbo. At its price point, it is competing with the Ferrari 360. It may outperform the 360 (hell, so does the 911 Turbo), but I (and many other buyers in this price catagory.....not that I could afford one) would rather own a Ferrari. But it is a sweet car. It's just too bad they couldn't keep the price down to 100k. That would have hit HARD on the 911 Turbo sales, what few sales Acura can even make on the NSX would have been hurt more, and the Viper would have definately lost a number of sales too. The car is simply priced out of its primary market, which sucks because I'd love to see them on the road on a regular basis.
  16. Sorry if I call it how it is. People were saying the EXACT same thing about rice boy and his 03 Civic EX w/ less rice on it in the pics section..........
  17. I saw a silver one on Henderson near Riverside a few months ago. Titties and beer is what those cars are.
  18. You drive a Mustang, yet your screen name is 70rsz28.
  19. I swear, the only reason you people are saying that's a "clean" Civic is simply because of the power the guy says it is making. - Altezza's - Rubber band tires - Way-too-red interior - Diamond "truck" plates all over the interior (how did that ever become a trend??) - Big'ol tach And that's just what I can see from the limited pictures. At least it has power to back up its riceyness. That car does have a swapped motor. Just built and boosted to go along with it.
  20. No, it's is because you cry and whine like a bitch. "Woe is me, everyone hates me, I'm so sad, why doesn't anyone like me, waaa waaa waaa." You brought this entirely on yourself.
  21. Run Ad Aware and Spybot, then get back to us. Search for each on download.com if you don't have them.
  22. Ummm, 3/4 of your motor is under the hood. smile.gif What you meant to say is the rear 1/4 of the motor is under the cowl. That said, I ran ARP head bolts simply because it was significantly cheaper and studds are overkill for my application. You can most definately use heads studds and pull the heads on our motors w/ the motors still in the car, though.
  23. Not even comparable. FWD car that is significantly slower stock for stock. Why are people getting their panties in a bunch?? I'm just simply asking why there is a market for this car, when it seems the WRX already filled it.
  24. The WRX is a 4-door too. Is the rear room really that bad in the WRX (don't know, never sat in the back of one). If it is that bad, isn't it pretty pointless for the WRX to be a 4-door (which is something I really don't like about the WRX/EVO....they should be 2-door cars).
  25. To me, a Legacy GT is taking a WRX, blanding up the styling a whole bunch, adding 23HP, and upping the sticker price a grand. Why not just buy a WRX? Am I missing something here? The GT looks bigger/heavier (I've never looked up the specs so I can't be sure). What am I missing here??
