  1. I'm pretty near deciding to sell my boosted coupe. If I decide to let it go, I have no use for another toy though. Monies only.
  2. Other than sacrificing a bit on size and weight, what keeps you away from a small netbook? I'm pretty sure you could get one with a built in card reader and they obviously would have USB ports, not to mention a full Windows OS (or nearly so).
  3. That was me. I did it just to watch him die. http://mynetimages.com/93520c9fa5.jpg
  4. I never owned one, but I helped a friend install the Reese version for towing a race car and it wasn't bad. You just set everything up the first time and torque it all down. From then on I think you just treat it like a normal hitch with some extra attaching points.
  5. 1. A good weight distributing hitch would really help, if you aren't using one now. They can be expensive new, but cheap as hell on CL. I think most of them have some sort of sway control built in. Edit: This is the type I was thinking of http://www.etrailer.com/Weight-Distribution/Pro-Series/PS49903.html 2. Any work, but a proportional is really nice. The Tekonsha Prodigy has always been a hot item. All of them are easy as hell to hook up. http://www.etrailer.com/dept.aspx?furl=pg-Brake_Controller-pm-Tekonsha&gclid=CNurncG1ybECFUYCQAodiVwA7g
  6. Yeah, I suppose the basics in a ~3000lb car aren't going to put it in the 10's anytime soon. I've never really intended to race the car anyway, though I do miss hitting the test n' tune nights at NTR. It still has a couple of minor annoying things that need sorting before I make the next step anyway (tiny mystery oil drip, etc). Sadly, I'm actually right on the verge of selling it before I dig any deeper into it because of some major life/occupation changes I have made lately. :fa: I have another thread about taking money out of my 401k, but I realize it's highly irresponsible to do shit like that when I have this "toy" sitting in my garage, barely being driven. I'm going to let it grow on me for a couple of days before I decide. It would suck to cut it loose at this stage, but sometimes ya gotta make sacrifices.
  7. This. The car has JEGS upper and lower control arms. Nothing fancy, but they normally work well. I mostly blame the tires even though they are pretty wide.
  8. :fa: Pro Tip: Be in the left lane, I'm sliding to the right. Actually, it seems like if you roll into it a bit instead of stabbing it through the floor it goes okay. These tires are kind of hard for racing. Better street radials or drag radials would be no problem.
  9. Thanks. If there's any problem with 425 wheel, it's making 295's cry at 40 MPH... RWD LOL :gabe:
  10. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v691/twistedfocus/foxdyno.jpg?t=1323354818 It went from Burgundy Blunder to Burgundy Bauce today. 425 RWHP (398 Tq) on a Mustang dyno. The ol' Powerdyne actually squeaked out a tad over 7 psi up top. I'm actually really impressed with it. I have been chasing fuel system gremlins for a while now, so this was dyno trip number 3 in the last 6 weeks or so. I didn't even take pics or vids this time I because I've got so many from the other times already. I'm very happy with the results. Drivability is excellent and it made great power for a fairly mild combination. We decided not to put any more timing in it because it's already making great power and I don't want to push the block to the max on a street car (most try to keep it under about 450 RWHP, and this would probably be there on a dynojet). I was so excited I forgot to get a dyno sheet printed out, so I'm waiting for Mike Ward to email me a copy. I can post it later if anyone cares (coolstorybro).
  11. Dream weaver. Hands down. I have a "backup" of CS5.
  12. a very non-flattering way to refer to a Trans-Am? or chicks with dicks.
  13. Dox Calendar? This could be the cover shot: :lolguy:
  14. Agreed, except - Needs more Mazda B6T. Easilly double the output and probably similar highway mileage. :megusta:
  15. I may have a semi-awesome fully running coupe for sale soon myself. Just sayin. Not sure you want another burgundy car though. :fa:
  16. I beleive "Yutugh Do" was slang for "Yes, sir, I do". :gabe:
  17. I'd think you should be covered for uninsured/undernisured motorist, if so.
  18. In that case I'm on board. Thought that seemed a little low power for an SC car, but I assumed it was so it didn't compete with the ZL1. Kinda forgot they already make 400+ HP.
  19. My very first thought was "Great, a REAL road race Camaro..." Then I saw it's still supercharged. I like it, but agree that it doesn't fit.
  20. Didn't catch that it was supposedly an IROC. Agreed that it should be TPI if so. One more reason to run away.
  21. Totally makes sense. If your current cam is that big I'd bet you'll pick up a substantial amount of midrange torque and throttle response with a smaller cam. Good place to start, even if it's a straight race car. I hate to see straight up race cams in cars that would benefit from something in the middle. The sound is great, but slowing your car down for sound is gayer than super aids.
