  1. When did I say anything about you or I having money or not anywhere in this thread? You really are a dumb ass. Oh, I grew up on the Westside of Columbus and went to Columbus Public Schools from 1st to 12th grade. Try again.
  2. Yeah, I assumed that you could make a 5.7L LS1 or LS6 at least that big. And I didn't know the C5R engine was that big and you could bye it. I'm just surprised to see them bump up the displacement that much on something they are selling stock. There’s a huge difference in what is done in the aftermarket and what most car companies will sell stock. But if Phil says all of that is true, I believe it because he will probably get to drive one before we know any specs 'officially' from Chevy. So Joe, I was pretty much dead on except for a few small caveats? I guess those question marks were me saying I didn't know for sure, just what I've picked up in conversation. Funny what a question mark will do. I don't know those cars that well, but I guess I knew them well enough. Thanks for clarifying though, but the first sentence wasn't needed.
  3. Umm, if I'm doing the simple math right, that's a 428cu.in. motor (7L), that's just a little hard to believe. Especially with the stock motor being a 6L motor, that's just a huge jump, especially considering the ‘current’ (old) regular C5 and Z06 is the same engine (right)? They are at least the same size (just different heads and intake correct)? In fact, alot of those specs. are really hard to swallow.
  4. Becuase he can boost it to 10psi stock for (probably) less invested money than the GSR motor and have alot more power.
  5. Was it what you thought it was? It makes sense, but I'm just double checking. smile.gif
  6. Is the GTO a hopped up LS1 then? The GTO is what I was referring to from the initial post.
  7. Haha, I wouldn't be planning a get out of jail party for him anyways. It's way to far before hand to plan anything. graemlins/lol.gif
  8. They have everything, even old stuff. If it's something recent, I got to that, www.kbb.com and www.edmunds.com and see what kind of range I get out of the three.
  9. Keeping yourself around people who commit serious, violent, crimes will eventually bite you in the ass. You will get wrapped up into something you are not involved in and get in trouble for it. I had lots of friends that were very crazy growing up. Some went straight and I still talk to them, others didn't and I hope I never see them again.
  10. Once they get a traffic station dedicated to Columbus, I will have it.
  11. IRS+RWD+6 Speed+LS6>>Slush Box+FWD+NorthStarV8
  12. Damn, that sucks, really sorry to hear about that. Renters insurance is your friend. I don't live on my own so I don't have alot of stuff like that, but I'll check with my parents to see if they have anything. Lol, at first by 'burnt out', I thought you meant a pot head that had smoked too much.
  13. But they are all three S14's right, or is Keith's an S15?
  14. He wouldn't drink ONE Beer because he had to work in the morning? Sounds like his little brother needs to teach him how to party. graemlins/nutkick.gif Happy BDay Rick!
  15. Doh!! I knew it was a newer one with the fixed headlights just like the guy who originally posted, just got the number wrong.
  16. I've ridden in an s13 with Tien HE's and RUCA's. Thing rode damn nice, I'm sure yours are about on par, if not stiffer, than those. The person who owns the car is on here as Beer Guy. Good purchase. Car looks nice too. It's just too bad you can't keep it like that. graemlins/thumb.gif
  17. That's cool Brandon. Desperado thanks, that was a very informative post. Some of that I knew, but some I did not know, that's why I was asking questions. Please don't take any offense to this. You seem very knowledgeable in some automotive areas and have alot you can bring to the board, but it seems like 99% of what you say on here is pointless and (trying to be) offensive. I guess I'm just trying to say, you should make more post like this and less other post. That mantra could be applied to alot of people on this board, but yours seems an extreme case.
  18. I didn't talk to the guy or look at what the plate read. He was local though (Franklin plate as I remember). Red, looks very clean, totally stock looking from the outside except for unpainted R1 front lip. Aftermarket rims IIRC. Has printed off for sale signs in the window with all major mods with individual prices and a grand total. If that matches the car, I'm sure it's the same one.
  19. So you physical have a water line going from somewhere in the bay to the back of the gauge, which is in the dash area? I would just think it would take forever to make that stagnant water change temperature over that much distance, unless it cycles the water through somehow? For certain gauges, I'd definitely say it's really hard to pass up a mechanical for the price. But others, I would never want to give up the peak and hold, memory playback, and warning point. Boost gauge could probably matter less (although I would think you could get an electrical one with all the bells and whistle for much less than $200). EGT gauge, I've been in cars that have a good electrical one (obviously they all are), with memory stuff, and I wouldn't want anything else. I really wouldn’t personally want coolant, and especially fuel coming into the cockpit. I’ve heard of peoples mechanical liquid gauges failing and their carpet gets soaked with coolant.
  20. You can come and watch me fail miserabley. I do get lots of air though. I normally see at least one decent skier and one decent snowboarder there every time I go (at tricks). Very often there will be a small group of one or the other. I don't know where you've been hiding.
  21. I'm going to assume with how Tulo describes the gauge as self calibrating and the price it is one with an electric transducer/sending unit (looks like the cobalt series can be had in mechanical and electrical units). Those are usually more expensive. The one you quoted is a 'mechanical' gauge, meaning the pressure/vacuum line comes right to the back of the unit and the pressure/vacuum acts on a diaphragm which directly moves the needle. With the electric ones, there is an electromechanical transducer (converts a mechanical signal into an electrical one), then the electrical signal goes to the unit. I've never taken one apart before, but I would assume there is a steeper motor (and the required driver for it), and some gears. I'm sure you could see how this would be more expensive. Only thing this inherently show gains by whatever the 'signal' is, doesn't have to come into the cockpit. No big deal for boost, but I personally wouldn't want an oil pressure, and god forbid a fuel line, coming into my engine compartment. With temperature, I'm sure a mechanical wouldn’t work well, if at all. The electrical can also gain you memory features in a gauge. Like peak and hold, memory play back, visible/audible warnings. All very nice features, but you will pay for it.
  22. Not a problem. I'm just glad it possible helped someone. smile.gif Last time I posted something like this about a GN I found, no one replied so I wasn't sure if it helped anyone get any leads or not.
  23. That's a very good point. Community wise, I'd much rather live where my parents do now than just about anywhere in or around Columbus (I live with them right now). I'm actually thinking about buying a house right down the street. But it's in Columbus Public Schools so the houses aren't worth nearly as much as they would be if they were in Dublin (abliet, some of the biggest house around there are 'small' out in Dublin). Per sq.ft. cost wise, that is true though.
