There aren't many sports cars out there that I can easily put a child seat in to. Add the fact that they're around $10k used and there's an LSx swap kit for it and it's hard to ignore.

Clay, you and I are on the same page.

What are you looking forward to seeing at the Detroit Auto Show

Going to be fully revealed at the Detroit Auto Show this week. Thoughts? I think it actually looks pretty good. Hopefully it's fun-to-drive and the 2.4L Multi-Air should pack a decent punch (200+HP). It should spawn an SRT version.

This post represents the bitchification of America. People whine about everything now, even when it's not their business and the perpetrators were completely in the wrong.

Nice car. Nice and concise intro. Is it an auto or a manual? My choice in Vette's would be a Grand Sport manual. It gets the best of everything. Z06 body, Z06 brakes, targa top, best suspension tune, dry sump LS3.

I typed that with a flailing, crying baby on my lap. My bad. He was too lazy to even capitalize his own name or the name of his city, wrote run-on sentences with no comma's, and didn't read the "READ THIS FIRST" sticky. He's off to a great start.

Poor reading comprehension, bad spelling, bad grammar, run-on sentences, collection of broken cars... He should fit in well here.

I actually got rid of it about 3 years ago but never updated my sig. At the end of 2008 my wife lost her job and the trans died in my daily driver, all in the same week. The fun car had to go in order to reduce the number of bills we had. After nine months she got a new job and we started building our savings back up. We ended up starting a family and getting the Equinox so my 'fun car' has been pushed back. I still miss it, but not sure if I'll get another. I won't have much that's sig worthy for a while.

I was thinking of making the resolution to work out more...maybe I should start with this... Words cannot describe.

If the worlds ends in December, but I'm working on a product that doesn't launch for a few more years, does that mean I can slack off?
-
Can you tell me the other reasons to have one? I had a guy come in for a job interview with one.

Nice crack nail. Just as I expected.

When you take a hot shower keep the door closed and the exhaust fan off and lock her in the room with you. Breathing in the steam may help a little.

I was just about to say the same thing. E30 M3's kick ass. Boosted S50's kick ass. Put them together and it makes my head spin.

Looks like a casket with wheels.

This is true. There are certain roads in MI that have the worst offenders, but jump on I-696, I-75 around Detroit, or I-94 and you'd better step on the gas or get out of the way. While my area is not without fault, the concentration of vehicular douchbaggery is much higher in Columbus. I too should have a few roads in OH named after me.
-
You fail. Being from MI I do not have a front plate, so you would not know where I was from until after I passed you. Getting back around me would require you to exceed the speed limit, which no one in Columbus is willing to do.
-
The other threads were complaints about one, singular driver. I am complaining about all of you.

I was in Columbus for the last 2.5 days and it was aggravating from the moment I reached Delaware on US-23. In Michigan everyone drives 7-15 mph over the speed limit. In Columbus everyone drives 5 UNDER. Ugh. Everywhere I went I was stuck behind people holding up traffic. I love the city, but people need to learn how to drive. As I was leaving for home I was on the 315 N entrance ramp on Bethel Rd and was following someone down the ramp. She would not accelerate to merge, then once able to merge she had a car next to her so she slammed on the brakes and came to a COMPLETE stop on the freeway! Not to mention when driving in the rain on 270 about half the cars I passed were texting while driving. I love Columbus as a city, but I don't know how you guys do it. I was ready to shoot people after just 2 days.

Thursday through the 2nd here. At least the auto industry's good for one thing.

Could a car like the Chevy Cruze or Sonic saved GM in 09??
Mallard replied to Nate1647545505's topic in Passing Lane
This is a mentality that I do not understand. Why does everyone seem to feel that American cars should be cheaper than the rest of the market? With a $100k Corvette you get active suspension, carbon fiber construction, carbon ceremic brakes, supercharged all-aluminum engine with dry sump oil system, forged steel crank, forged titanium rods, forged aluminum pistons, lightweight wheels, etc. Where else do you get that for cheaper? Sure, the seats could be better, but there's no reason (and no way) that you could get this kind of hardware at a cheaper price. Also, what do you think is cheaper? Where can you get more for less? Most Ford models are thousands more than GM. Toyota? Honda? The only one's I can think of off hand would be the Korean's. Sure, the Laguna Seca BOSS 302 is a hell of a bargain at $48k when a base Vette costs $49k, but I see that as an exceptional exception. The LSB 302 is an awesome car that I would love to have in my garage. I see this as a case of the Mustang being a bargain, not the Vette being over priced. The CTS has done well and they sell 25k Cruze's a month, and, even though you didn't mention it, there's a couple month wait if you want an Equinox. Doesn't look like it's too late to me. PLUS, the CTS-V is thousands cheaper than the M3. So much for getting more for less. The depreciation on their newer cars isn't bad at all. Check out used prices of the newer CTS, SRX, Equinox, Cruze, Lacrosse, Regal, etc. They're all holding their values well. My opinion is that the Camry interior is just as plastic-y, if not more so, than most of their rivals. They've been selling on this reputation of remarkable quality, but their quality and content are slipping. The inside of their cars just feels cheap to me (minus the Avalon). The last Corolla I drove was a pile of shit. I'm not an employee, ex-employee, or fanboy. I'm a realist who has driven a lot of cars during development. I live in the Detroit area and have a vested interest in the health of all the American manufacturers, as well as the Japanese, since I work for a Japanese company. I believe the new products coming out of Detroit (GM, Ford, and even Chysler) are competitive in their classes and don't deserve some of the rep thay have been given.
