Hey all- Trying to get as much out of the Gremlin as we can on the current combo. I really feel like I need to launch it harder but at 2000 rpm it takes too much of the accelerator pump shot to hold it there while standing on the brakes that it has a nasty dead spot. This car requires a ton of fuel to get it going without falling on its face for some reason. It has a 50cc pump in the front with a blue pump cam in position 2. If I launch at 1500 no issues but I also can't get below a 1.9 60 ft. It is pulling about 101.x in the quarter. I would like to get high 12s. It was just as fast without limited slip and 2.79 gears as I didn't have to shift to third with the th350 with a manual valve body. It now has an 8.8 with LSD and 3.73s... it feels much faster but results in the same time... I was thinking of holding it with the line lock? Thus requiring less gas to bring it to 2000 as the driveline wont be fighting the brakes? Thanks! Andrew

what is friday night lights? Car looks good!

Nice shots- When were you there? We were up there the second of May... Unbelievable the temperature drop at the top. We did it with a 5 and 2 year old and the 2 year old was less than thrilled

Glad to have you in this thread BigB! Thanks

My dad bought an 87 M491 cabriolet brand new. It was white with white matching wheels which made it apparently a 1 of 16 car. He only drove it 10K miles and sold it in 2006 for 36,500. He had it listed for a long time at 40K. I will grant you that it was the sharpest looking 911 of that generation but it had its share of problems. It had inordinate amounts of bump steer at factory ride height, it would occasionally pop out of gear with the G50 transaxle, the plastic rear window showed some hazing and he was extremely careful with it, the power top would get stuck sometimes, a 3rd generation camaro challenged him from a light one time and he hit the rev limiter and it flat out killed the engine, sounded cool but was very underpowered, clutch angle and engagement felt strange. It did have good braking power and feel- not compared to my c5 z06 but good for the generation. Nice steering. I am not an expert but I would bet that a c4 with mild suspension work would run circles around it. A base c5 would be no contest. In short, if it were me, I would go with the newer one.

thanks for all the replies! I am glad my shotgun would do the trick- I just got some rifled slugs for it the other day I tried at the range. I was looking for .270 and larger as I heard a lot of states require that size for deer hunting? Thanks!

Yes, it may have been a 770, thanks for the recommendation I will look into those

Hey all- I was at walmart the other day and saw one of these on the shelf. 300.00 for a brand new .3006 rifle with scope seemed a lot cheaper than I would expect a rifle of that calibre to sell for. I tried to find one at cabelas to ask their opinion and instead found a few stainless steel savage xs?? rifles for 349 IIRC. My dad lives on a farm and a few times recently we have needed something with a bit more punch than the .22LR he has. In one instance a white tail deer and his german shepherd were in a fight- thankfully the deer retreated before I had to try to maim it with the .22. On another occasion there were 3 coyotes spread over the pastures I can only assume in formation to try and surround and attack the dog. I have a shotgun I could put a slug in but I don't think it will be accurate enough at 50-75 yards. My thinking is that if the remington 700 or the savages are good guns then I should be able to pick up one of these or better yet find one used, maybe with a better scope and save a few bucks. I was talking to one fellow who suggested I get a mosin nagant but I looked those up and the unique ammo and their age has me a bit concerned. Thanks for any help. As you can tell I am not a gun expert.

Agreed but may not be worth the hassle from the cops. Can anyone photoshop clear corner lights on there?

How many RWD sports cars made it through winter?
hpfiend replied to AndonD454's topic in Passing Lane
Exactly! My dad always talks about the steel studs he had on his 67 vette. To the OP... I have been there and done that as have several others and it's just not worth it anymore. Keep the beater. I don't need any more white-knuckled driving, my kids age me enough already! -
WTB: welding work - especially if you have a mobile welder

Do you have any power near your garage or outside? There are lots of guys with 110volt migs that should be able to take care of this for you? I 220v TIG'd my first O2 bung last summer on some aluminized pipe on our gremlin and while it doesn't leak it definitely doesn't have that stack of dimes look. I don't think I ground enough of the coating off. -
Thanks, I did not know this was the law! Maybe I do want a small boat instead, not dead set on tubing but had a lot of fun doing that as a kid apparently illegally- I was also planning on casual fishing off the waverunners lol

SOLD

nice car, good luck!

You can't pull a tube with a 90s waverunner? 2 seat vs 3 seat? Is there a certain power level that is required to pull one? Is it more the pay load on the frame/hull that is the issue? IE difference between pulling a biggest loser competitor vs an adolescent? srsly. I thought I would get a couple project waverunners in a few years once the kids get old enough to swim. My fear is running them at alum creek or buckeye lake and getting run over by drunk or not drunk boat guys that don't notice you. I do plan on putting flags and lots of flashing lights on them.

Quite a loaded political/socioeconomic debate going on here. From one car enthusiast to another, check the fine print on the contract and then drive that @#%@ like you stole it!

yeah- 18" is the legal limit and it is a half inch beyond that. I am supposed to meet a guy from armslist tomorrow morning. I will let you know if the deal falls through. Later, Andrew

$60.00 OBO

I bought this with an 870 and another barrel from someone on here. Apparently this is the legal limit without holding a special license. It has been sawed off but whoever did it did a nice job as it looks good. I use the longer barrel and do not need this one. This is a Remington brand barrel. Sorry for the poor focus on the first picture. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps2adb0367.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zps5dc992e1.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/image_zpsf05d3e2f.jpg I see these cost about 140.00 new and not sawed off so how about 80.00 OBO Thanks!

The Porschephiles say you really can't appreciate a 911 until you do a really long cross country road trip in it...
-
I am glad others have experienced it... Usually I am not a big fan of the aftermarket exhausts on the LS6 over the titanium factory catback but whatever he has I am willing to strongly consider for my car...
-
Black CTS-V spotted you about a month ago on riverside drive near digger and finch. 05-08 (LS6) CTS-V What kind of exhaust do you have?

Looks good! How dark is that tint? TTT
