  1. I am no expert but I think you need to find a way to accurately measure your intake charge temperature. Lower air temp = more air density = more effective boost = more power and less detonation risk.
  2. Hello all- I have always been a catch and release kind of guy but I was wondering if one were to be interested, are fish safe to eat out of alum creek? Is there a better alternative that one would go to within a few hours? Thanks! Andrew
  3. I agree it was overly dramatic but I can remember quite a few times in my high school and college years where I found myself in a situation I could have went to jail or died and as chance would have it I am still here... Not surprisingly most of those events were a result of fast cars or alcohol (not together thankfully). That said, if I had not skipped a few of those early semester classes I never would have met my wife.
  4. I don't know. I didn't think it was funny at all but I guess being a dumb kid once myself and now a father has changed my perspective.
  5. wow- did not expect that- powerful...
  6. From what I have heard once the batteries die on the prius (at least the early ones) you might as well give them away as they aren't worth anything as everyone knows the batteries are $$$$$$$$
  7. Free to anyone that wants to try and fix it... No word and it goes to disposal.
  8. Hey there- Anyone have an old parts double pumper laying around? I am looking for a baseplate (Holley or QFT- 2 or 4 corner idle), a centerhung fuel bowl (mine has a stripped bolt hole for one of the accel pump screws) a pair would be nice so they match but only really need one, a 50cc pump arm (cheap new), and one of those little needle weights that go under the squirters (really cheap new). I finally got the one on the gremlin sorted out and I am afraid to breathe on it let alone steal parts from it to start working on my blow through setup.
  9. thanks all! I am glad I have relatively cheap equipment... I wont say I am not tempted- I tried my brother-in-law's newer model canon rebel T *I think* with a zoom lens on it the other day. It's low light performance was far superior to mine even with my little 280 speedlight and my 1.8 aperture 50mm running wide open but I still haven't learned to use that flash properly
  10. While that should calculate into it for some reason that isn't it for me- I washed and waxed that Rsx ten fold more than the corvette... I was a lot more attached to the mustang and put a lot more blood sweat and tears into it and I enjoyed it greatly! My wife's RL is more expensive than the Vette and I drive it harder - I must just have a thing for Honda...
  11. Thanks for all of the great replies!!! You have about nailed it- i am glad others feel the same way I do about the Rsx-s and also thought the s2000 would be all that I dreamed of. A lot could be tire size... Does a new 911 turbo feel nimble as I would guess they have massive tires all around these days...what would an Indy car feel like?
  12. Exactly! Maybe it is the fat tires.... It doesn't make sense that a swapped car will beat the engineering in the c5z but that's the conclusion I am coming to potentially for me- I did email Danny popp just now
  13. That is good to hear that it was not the 996... I always have wanted one of those... I almost bought one over my c5z but I couldn't justify the price they were asking to even go drive one for such an older car. The NSXs were also on my list but they had ridiculously high miles and a NA six didn't really thrill me.
  14. That right there is the number one car people are happy with after selling their c5z on corvette forum... didn't know about the turbo option the camry engine never excited me before... I will look into the 4c
  15. hahah I like how you think - thanks for the image...
  16. Well that is why I bought it in the first place coming from a very modified mustang with terrible brakes and handling. I think it is amazing in all departments except for the feel. While its handling capability is incredible, it isn't fun to drive in everyday cornering. I do enjoy it immensely in cloverleafs but in normal, non banked, non sweeping turns it isn't confidence inspiring with good feedback in the steering or chassis. It is really difficult to explain but I definitely drove much more aggressively in our old RSX-S, than I do in the corvette. The RSX had a smaller steering wheel and awesome side bolsters but I don't think that is all there was to it. My dad has a c6 and it is even worse in this department so I definitely do not want a c6 of any flavor. The brakes in the corvette are nothing short of awesome (they dust a bit excessively but well worth it)- The acceleration is impressive as well- it just isn't as raw and explosive. I miss the mustang's lightning fast revs with its 3" stroke and its sound. I don't have the time I used to have to autox or road race so it has become a daily driver for me in the spring, summer, fall. Danny is one hell of a driver- I didn't know he worked on them as well- I haven't seen him since I was a kid though...
  17. that ls1 rx8 is sounding quite nice! I just happened across this as well... LS1 S2000 Swap kit http://www.importmuscle.com/ Actually any decent turbo on an S2000 would be pretty sweet... wasn't there someone on here with one of those?
  18. I know you did - I almost bought your cobra a whole back- thanks for your input.
  19. I thought the new audis were too heavy to be nimble? Dunno about the 335- I think the gtr is overpriced for what it is but maybe I need to drive one - a buddy of mine had a 350z that was really fun
  20. Neat swap clay, thanks! I like the flying miata 5.0 and ls1 swaps but figured the short wheelbase would be too unstable to be fun- that and not having a hard top. Interesting the 911 came up- my dad had one and the 95-97 awd twin turbo was one of my dream cars until I read a review Tilley posted on here a few years ago... Surprised you didn't go for the cobra or the Evo 2 high psi
  21. Responsive and fun in the corners like an RSX-S without the torque steer Sounds good like a mustang. Brakes like a C5 corvette Z06. 10.8 to 11.5 in the quarter. Blower for the C5 Z06 but that's not going to solve the cornering feel or sound which is alright now but def not mustang quality IMO... I dont really care what it looks like as I don't have time to wash it anymore. Back seat is a plus. Sort of sounds like a 04 Cobra with Maximum motorsports everything and a ported blower but not sure about braking and nimble like an RSX-S EVO or STI but maybe not in the sound department, and not sure how modified they would need to be to run that fast in the quarter. Silent mufflers may solve the sound problem. BMW 3 with a turbo 5.0 swap and some porsche brakes or something?
  22. Hey all- I have a Canon Rebel XS and a 50mm 1.8 lens I use exclusively... It has been to the beach several times and has never been cleaned. There is likely sand and grime in all sorts of areas. The iris has been sticking on the 50mm when it is really cold so I wonder if there is something in there too? I never took the lens off anywhere but in the house anand maybe then only once or twice and I made sure to keep it inverted.. I was thinking of taking it to Midwest Photo to have it done but wonder if this is something I can do myself? Thanks! Andrew
  23. Hey all- http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsf9004466.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsc289787a.jpg I got this from my brother-in-law who bought a new web tv. According to him it needed a new lamp and he bought one online and it didn't fix it. I took it apart and put some pressure on the dmd board chip to see if it may need reflowed (common issue) with no effect. It isn't exhibiting any of the symptoms of that problem however, and I recently obtained the "new" lamp he bought for it. The bulb reflector is easily twice the size of the original one. I am not sure of the wattage of the bulb but wonder if he got an incorrect bulb and this is the problem after all. I don't need the tv and an oem bulb is 62.00 last time I checked so I don't want to take the chance on it as I don't know if that is the problem or not. So I am putting it up here for 75.00 OBO
