  1. Yeah there very reliable as that one sits. If it were upgraded to 33" tires or bigger you'd need to swap the axles out for toyota ones because your at the limit of the zuki ones. The engine is under powered, but the t-case can be geared as low as 6 to 1 for cheap and the axles can be geared to 5.12 to 1 even cheaper. On road This one seems to do great. I'm sure you don't wanna take a turn into Wendys to fast or your toast, but they don't have many problems. Evan
  2. Yeah I agree with that, but can't do alot about it at this point. Maybe in another generation we'll see something new and maybe even like it. I doubt it though since people always seem happy to grumble over stuff. Evan
  3. Yeah after building it I kinda want one too. I could probably get used to being able to go everywhere. at the moment the only times I think its gonna have trouble will be in winter or extreme wet conditions trying to power its way up a slimy hill. Thats about the only thing that ever stops the zukis, but you can do alot to them for very little money to fix that problem. Evan
  4. hehe yeah the cop told me its okay to park in the street and that they overlook trailers nearly all the time. Unless of course someone complains. Julie talked to the neighbors today and the cops talked to the kids across the street to about making to much noise. That must be why it took him so long to come over. The problem is we didn't hear anything and we were standing out BSing and trying to work supper down so we could crawl back under the zuki without eating it again. I try not to be annoying, but I'd at least like to get complaints when I do something really wrong. Evan
  5. Yeah always run the fluid through both coolers. If you have a temp gauge on your system and feel that its running to cold you could remove one of them. High or low temps in the transmission can cause problems. That is why on late model cars you started to see them staying in there 1 to 1 gear for a time before bumping up into overdrive. This was to get the temps up in both the engine and the transmission. Evan
  6. lol yeah. I"m a copier guy so I got alot of those "special" tools. Evan.
  7. The USB ports on my DVR are disabled also. I don't know enough about linux to attempt enabling them, but I know it can be done for a network connection. There are alot of home entertainment forums around the internet that have instructions to do alot of neat things with that box. Yeah removing the hard drive shouldn't be a problem and connection to a pc shouldn't either. you'd just need to be able to read the contents and copy the files and since its in linux you'd need what ever the linux guys use to do that stuff so it can't be to difficult, but like I said I don't know shit about linux. Evan
  8. I just play them back and record them on my DVD recorder just like it is a VCR. If your talking about a directv DVR mine has an option for "save to VCR." I don't usually use that option because so far I've only used the DVD recorder to save star trek episodes, but I have used it to put a movie on a single DVD. Evan
  9. Speeding up, but we're not likely to see anything quite as busy as the ramp up to the faked Y2K bug everyone was worried about in the late 1990's. As for my company we are very busy and need another guy or two to even keep up with the work, but thats on the office equipment repair side of IT. IT like alot of other support fields will move at a slower pace than the rest of the market. It sucks, but the workers in the that field will always be in a "last in/first out" situation. Evan

Thats nothing the entire state of West Virginia requires all vehicles to have no visable rust, cracked windows, cracked lights/reflectors, and you must pass a basic emissions test. Your inspected annually and must pass to get your plates renewed. Evan
  11. God damn that person could work at Dairy Queen. Evan
  12. I guess I need someone to explain to me the difference betwwen a job and a career. I see all jobs as the same. I get money so I can buy stuff. I have treated every job the same from warehouse work to I T. I always do my best and get paid, but beyond that I don't give a rats ass about the companies and don't waste my time worrying about it. I think the problem is alot of people think that they can just get out of high school and then go to a school to learn a skill or whatever that they can use to get into a job. IMO it doesn't really work that way. Most jobs excluding some engineering and medical fields are just jobs. You can do them or you can't and theres no training a school is gonna give that can help you once the boss says do it. I've met alot of kids that say that they wanna learn to work on cars. the trouble is that they think they need to go to school. What they don't understand is all they have to do is get out there and try to keep a POS running so they can get to work every day and they will be an automotive expert. I"m passionate about motorsports to some degree, but I can't say I know any of the things you referd to. Especially the guys name I have no clue what he did, but I'd never make a hobby into a job no matter what. At the moment I fix office equipment, but thats just because it pays great and its so damned easy that its just wrong. Evan
  13. If a lib thinks a republican should have voted in McCain then I'd almost rather vote for the democrate in the next election. Evan

Lol I like the idea of being elected president. Other than that your basically out of luck. I live in westerville and my hood is old enough that there aren't any HOA's around to worry about. I just have the usual assholes that call the cops for stupid crap. Evan
  15. I've seen a virus that does that exact thing. It decides to crash your OS at random. Alot of times it seems to be triggered by starting IE and sometimes it just seems to come up about a minute after you log into windows. Update your virus software and any spyware programs and then go into safe mode and run them. Evan
  16. Yeah it has always been an area to watch out in I've been driving it for almost 5 years. Evan
  17. I've never seen axle braces on any drag cars, but in the 4x4 truck world its common to sleeve axle tubes with heavy pipe to prevent them from bending. Normally this is done while cutting the tubes to adjust the angle of the pinion yoke without messing up the steering and alignment stuff. You just cut the axle tubes and rotate the diff up to 18 degrees and sleeve it with heavy pipe. In our case we won't be cutting the axle tubes, but instead I'll be cutting the heavy pipe in half and wrapping it around the axle tube, welding and reinstalling the perches on the top side of the tubes. This should give the tube at least twice the thickness and also spread the weight of the vehicle out over several square inches compared to just buying plate to box in the exsisting spring perches. To me this doesn't seem to solve the problem of eleminating the stress points on the axle and also adds more stuff to the bottom of the axle to get hung up on. Doing it the way I plan will leave only the round end of the U-Bolts hanging down and there nothing to worry about. I went to Tractor Supply Co up in Delware today and they have some really nice U-Bolt plates already cut and drilled so I'm gonna measure some stuff and maybe I can use those. That would save a couple hours of work and there really nicely made. In my design we should be able to retain the stock swaybar and shock mounting locations and lengths. Later if he feels like it he can buy longer shocks to take full advantage of the spring over axle conversions articulation. We can also make up some sway bar quick disconnects to use before we hit the trails. Evan
  18. Here in ohio you get 52 inches for dirt bike trails in the Wayne National Forest and the extreme dirt bikers want them smaller. They say theres no challenge. I have no clue I stick to 4 wheels. Evan
  19. Mohican is a great place for family camping/canoeing. I try to hit it at least once a year. Theres also canoeing down by Logan in the Hocking Hills region for some more great family fun. If your into camping, hiking, and otherwise exploring and being outdoors I'd recommend the Hocking Hills as the best place within an hour or so drive. When I was a boy scout we did 65 miles of the Mohican river and another up that way. It was great fun and a very nice river as long as your not moving down towards the Mohawk Dam. The water seems to stop and go backwards when your about a days row from it. If you ever wanna hit some white water on some longer camping trips I know of some really great family spots with class 1 - 3 rapids and have done class 5 and 6 rivers as a family as well. the 5 and 6 were definately thrills and we probably shouldn't have been there in rubber canoes. Evan
  20. Sounds like a break problem to me. Yes those trucks have a break line problem. You might even just replace the rubber lines coming from the calipers just so you have new ones. You'll probably notice the breaks working better from it anyway. I doubt you have a trans problem, but if you think you overfilled it you better drain it to the proper amount. Transmissions don't like having to much fluid in them and the level can only truely be tested by driving the truck through all gears until warm and then stopping, leave the truck running and check the dipstick. Evan
  21. I watched the video and the my dumb hillbilly brain thought. How nice and effiencent they are at getting chicken tenders and hamburgers to my plate. I don't see any point in threating them any better if they are just gonna be eaten anyway. chicken meat rules. Evan
  22. Another sneaky trick I used to pull in the shop was read the chip info on the NIC itself and DL matching drivers. It may not be as easy with the newer integrated type, but maybe you'll get lucky and they will have a nice little chip on the board with some wording related to the NIC for a good ID Evan
  23. I saw a pimp like that hanging out at that school near OSU east hospital. Kinda funny considering theres a police barracks just behind the hospital too. Evan
  24. Thats a TV show? Wow to me its way sad that the networks can make shows like this low budget shit and people actually watch it. Whats worse is that their making money from commercials durning these wastes of time. Evan
