Thats ok Mike, If the truck gets done before we get started I'll just park it on it I was crawling around the RX-7 last night looking at stuff. Evan

I'm sure its not hard to get close for $25K, but I don't know enough about it to say if it is or is not possible. Pretty cool what you are building? Evan

Just thought I asked since its getting boring around here(read that cold) and I always love talking projects. I'll start with my current one Project vehicle - `92 Toyota 4x4 pickup I swapped out the 4 cyl for a carbed chevy 350 and SM465 transmission + NP 205 t-case. Im currently in the process of finishing the installation of chevy fullsize solid axles in the front and rear. I just need to install shocks, bolt the rear on, and hook up steering and driveshafts and it will be ready to go eat trails. The tires currently are Super Swamper LTB 34x10.50's, but they look kinda dumb on it and I built the truck to except up to 44" tires if I feel the need. Yeah its a trailer queen, but it does ride 1 weekend a month for around 10 hours;) Evan

The best way to be comfortable in winter driving is by having fun with your vehicle and knowing what it can do it all situations. More people need to drive at the limits of there vehicles design. All winter while I'm driving my 4x4 or my RWD truck I'm at its limits 90% of the time so that I can be the one in control. Also on those extra bad days reducing a vehicles tire pressure and increasing weight will help alot. I usually shovel driveway snow into the bed and drop to around 15 to 20psi in the RWD. Evan

Almost sounds like a syncro problem. Maybe transmission oil change. I know the books say that, but I'm not sure if its worth the time trying or not.

I never go to autozone period. They've dicked me way to many times and 99% of there employees have no automotive knowledge. Advance Autoparts is right the best part is there people. Evan

Haha I remember the cross dressing lumberjack Evan

Service stations will test a radiator usually for free. Evan

Sounds like its working out. Thats good to hear. You always wonder about that shit. I guess you don't know until you try. I could be wrong, but every company should be in good standing with the Better Business Bureau. If there not definately stay away from them. Evan

Mike thats fucking funny. Kinda funny I'd see something about pirates today since last night at my 4x4 club meeting we decided we'd vote on motions by saying ar. Evan

Correct, a degree doesn't mean shit and where you got it is only going to matter in more advanced fields and with the right people. Mostly resumes aren't even as important as who you know or how well you sell yourself. Evan

they sell a hose with a fitting to attach to the top of small and large bottles of oil at the autoparts stores for a couple of bucks. very nice tool. Evan

Don't forget that McConnelsville used to produce missles and who knows what else. There are some test reactors down on the Ohio river too. Evan

Dude's Bush didn't win Ohio in 2000. Bush did however win West Virginia for what thats worth. Evan

I looked around, but didn't come up with anything good yet. I'll keep looking. I did just notice today that the sensor looks just like the one on my wifes toyota corolla. At least it has the same number and color of wiring coming from it. Evan

No shit. Most companies eat the cost of personnel training in hopes that they picked the right person for the job and that they will stick with it. My company has its people go through 6 months to a year of training and you don't pay for shit. Evan

I am working on a `97 Kia Sefia for a family member. I got the OBD-II codes read and it said that the 2nd O2 sensor had failed to send a signal. It also said that a cylinder is misfiring. Anyone know the readings I should get if I meter the O2 sensor? Anyone know a way I can trick it into working. I'm mostly asking because this car is a total POS and the parts for it are in the hundreds everytime you need anything. It also has many exhaust leaks. Would this be the cause of the O2 error poping up? I'm no expert at OBD-II cars and troubleshooting them. I'm not buying a manual for this thing since I hope I can talk the owner into selling it ASAP. Evan

Bulldog is made in Steubenville, OH Actually its Wintersville, but close enough. I've been to audio competitions there and know the owners of the company. There a small company family owned and pretty nice guys. Don't know about the quality of the products or anything though. You can get all the wiring instructions for most vehicles from there website. You will probably have to cut down the axle housing and get custom axles made which will add to the cost. At least if you get a 1 ton rear end you will not break the axles often if ever. Yeah RUTAN I'm not fimilar with what types of mods you would have to do to get the axle under the car. 350 engines have several strokes. At least 3. I understand why you want american only in it. I was only suggesting the yota axle because its as strong as the american 1 ton axles, but only weight as much as a 9" or 10 bolt. I used to be just like that with my truck, but I came to a realization that you must use what works and is cheap to replace. Now it has a 350 chevy engine, a john deer radiator, chevy fullsize axles, and an SM465 tranny. All the stuff is pretty cheap to replace or will not break. Its got alot of other mods also that are just rigged up shit that didn't cost anything to do also. Oh course in my hobby of 4 wheeling you break something each time you go wheeling so it gets expensive. I would never consider putting a ford 9" in anything however and would like to hear the reason its the popular axle to swap into race cars. Is it because of its third member design? Weight vs strength? Evan

I'll help you out dude just cool down alittle. sorry I wasn't right here to respond as soon as you asked another question. Here we go. Your car has the small GM 10 bolt in it now. At least it should. You could get any GM 2wd fullsize truck rearend and it should be the larger 8.5" 10 bolt. You could get any GM fullsize 4x4 truck rearend and it will have the even better 9" 12 bolt rearend. You could also switch to the ford 9" rearend. Don't know why people do this since its only as strong as a 8.5" GM 10 bolt anyway. Mopar doesn't have there own rearend design. They use one made by Dana corp which is used in Ford, Dodge, and GM trucks throughout the years. A Dana 44 rear end would be as good as a ford 9" or GM 10 bolt. If your going to build serious power I'd get at least a 10 bolt or dana 44. you could go with 1 ton axles like a dana 60 or GM 14 bolt, but they get heavy. Another thing to consider is axle width. If its going in a T/A you might be able to use a toyota 8" rearend. I promise you it will be as strong as a GM 12 bolt more like a 14 bolt if you get one from a v6 toyota truck. Toyotas rearend is designed as a 1 ton axle, but in american the trucks are only rated at 1/2 and 3/4 tons models for the most part. My toyota truck has a 350 Chevy engine, 34" tires and a spool in the rear end and I've never hurt the rear end. I'm a crazy donut doing tire smoking asshole too. Evan

I too have used every gas brand in Ohio and I haven't noticed anything bad about any type. It must be in peoples heads since I drive 700+ miles a week and log my mileage and receipts for reimbursment from my company. I pay attention to things like gas mileage because it will effect my reimbursment. Evan

Shouldn't be to hard at all. We do that sort of stuff alot over in 4x4 land. Some people say it takes knowledge and special tools, but most of us just put them in set the ring and pinion gap with a feeler gauge and put everything back together. Evan

That paragraph wins! Oh and someone used building houses as an example of a poor mans job. Bullshit my wife works at a bank and sees the kind of money the mexicans deposit. They even open up CD's and shit and I'm talking they make more than I do, but I don't wanna work that hard either. Not trying to be racist at all, but why is it that the mexicans work hard jobs and make nice pay checks, the middleastern and asian peoples end up in either medical or engineering schools and the natural born black americans just stay in poverty. There are alot of white americans that live in the same conditions and I would have to attribute most of it to drugs. I'm pretty successful, but my brother growing up under the same roof doesn't even own a car. We've both been out of school a while now. He's comming around though maybe he will learn some day. Oh another note. Fuck education. If someone wants to work a job that others won't do they will make good money at it. I didn't even finish grade school and don't have a GED. You know no one has ever asked me to prove my education for my high tech jobs I've worked either. Evan Evan
