  1. Our wonderful GM has required all senior salaried staff, totaling 10 people, to decorate the facility (7 rooms, 5 trees, in two buildings) tomorrow starting at 8am. We are not allowed to used any hourly staff. Our reward is pizza for lunch. Feliz Navidad!

  3. I agree that the aforementioned business plan needs to be reformulated, but I don't beleive it will be enough, and soon enough, to save the CBJ. Broad reform must be made, and unfortunately some support by taxation, will be our only chance to save them, and the log term demise of the area.
  4. I'm convinced! You, and all the sports talk people, have swayed me with your facts.
  5. Did you not understand my post above? Look at the bigger picture. This is not about a saving a failing business, it's about saving a large part of our city's economy. Look at the bigger picture guys. We will pay for it on either end. I'd rather pay for an ammenity (CBJ), than to pay for the crumbling facilities and neighbprhoods.
  6. It's VERY different than supporting your local mom and pop pizza place. You need to see the bigger picture. The CBJ and Nationwide Arena are the backbone of a downtown economy based upon drawing visitors to spend money on food, shopping, rooms, etc. The CBJ leaves and the economy of the City suffers immensely. Consider this: The CBJ moves. Nationwide Arena starts to fail and default. The local bars, restaurants, etc. decline. WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK IS GONNA PAY FOR THIS? WE ARE, IN TAXES!!! Do you remember CITY CENTER? We are still paying for that! Brilliant, Dumbass! Now we show the world we will not support ONE professional franchaise. Yup, the NBA will be pounding on our door, soon!

  9. I will call you tomorrow, and probably stop by and check it out. Michael

  11. WOW! Words just can't describe the LAMENESS!
  12. Whole Foods is on my shit list. My friends and I were asked to leave during the Friday Wine/Beer tastings. We would meet there and interact with customers while sampling, then buy a bottle, and then sit to eat and drink at the Trattoria. Usually we spent at least $50 bucks each. One of the beverage dept. chicks got pissy one night and told the MOD that we were turning their store into a happy hours. We were told we were not welcome at the tastings. Two weeks later I got a call from the GM asking me to return and bring my friends (yes, we were all wine geeks from high end Restaurants and Clubs). It seems that their wine sales dropped 50% on Friday evenings after we were booted. Hmmm, imagine that? I haven't been back since.
  13. Are these just the hand tools, or are there lathe parts as well? ie. chuck, spindle?
  14. Yes, I play pool league out of Leap-n-Lizards. I've had home matches there the past 5 weeks in a row. I think we only have 1 or 2 matches at home left this season.
  15. 2 inches square x 12 inches long at the largest. May be significantly smaller, as in 3/4 x 3/4 x 6. These are actual measurements, not lumber measurements. OH, and if anyone has a bandsaw, this would be a huge bonus.
  16. I am considering a few simple projects this winter, requiring laminating different types of exotic woods together, and may need some aid. I have a lathe, and most basic wood working tools, but what I will need to use is a planer to achieve uniform thickness and perfectly flat surfaces. These pieces of wood would be no larger than 2" x 2" x 12" and there will be no more than 10 pieces maximum. I do not want to borrow the planer, nor do I know how to use one. I simply need someone who can do this for me. Is there anyone out there who can help me?
  17. Damn, and I even spellchecked 2 other words in the post......
  18. Damn, and it's an R1. I am soooo tempted right now. Does it have the Turbo/Exhaust manifold? Downpipe? Wastegate? Exhaust?
