  1. Mike @ M&M has built a lot of 4.6L and 5.4L engines for me. He does good work.
  2. No, just a revised PCV, it will get seafoamed with oil changes which will prevent it. I just used carb cleaner, wire brushes, air, and a shop vac. Cleaning the runner control flaps and port dividers helped to, I'm sure. Make sure the valves on that cylinder are shut before cleaning.
  3. Pulled it apart, cleaned it, put it back together. Runs great again! It's got more power than it ever has since we've owned it. Not a bad job, about 3 hours, mostly in cleaning.
  4. Most DI cars have the same issue, it stems from the lack of fuel on the intake valves. I know Porsche has issues. I'll either pull the head or just walnut blast the intake valves on the car, it will depend on what it looks like when I get the intake off.
  5. You can measure vacuum at the oil dipstick. I think the late model cars where OK. I'm going to make a catch can for the wifes car as well as a few other things.
  6. Drive the piss out of the car every once in a while. A new PCV system will help too.
  7. Yeah a BK6000 brandon The head will come off. As will the factory PCV system. Provided Audi won't fix it, which is the first route I'll take. This shouldnt happen with such low miles on a car that has been taken care of like this. I understand why it happens, its a dumb design. She uses 93 all the time and it gets pento 5w-40 every 7k. This isnt my first time around the block. The FSI motors are DI so they don't have a injector spraying a hot intake valve to help remove carbon. Additionaly they don't use a EGR valve, instead to reduce NOX emissions they just retard one cam and advance the other under certain conditions which allows a decent amount of overlap and causes some serious carbon buildup. One or two tanks of 87 wouldnt cause that. Hell, I doubt the gas makes THAT much of a difference. The biggest factor is a shitty PCV system combined with what I stated above. In the patent for the FSI motors Audi Admited that the PCV was lacking and caused carbon issues.
  8. Looking down through the spark plug hole at a intake valve/port on my wifes 2006 A4 2.0T FSI with 70k miles. Car has had Synthetic oil its entire life. This is a common problem I guess. Had some random misfires and a few other odd codes. http://www.lasotaracing.com/rob/DIGI0023.JPG http://www.lasotaracing.com/rob/DIGI0022.JPG Carbon isnt just for Chryslers!
  9. Greg, your car has been broke an entire year now.

    Casing my place....

I woke up Sunday Morning to the same thing - as did my dad. Very strange.

    Deer processing

Perfects! They make some awesome stuff.
  12. It's a cool concept. IMO it's to complicated for a fuel system. To many places that could leak, to many things to fail. Keep it as simple as possible and it will work better longer.
  13. There is a TSB for those, the differentials make noise (LSD) the fix is new clutch packs. I limped my mom's by with extra friction modifier, a year later its getting bad again so its going to come apart.

    Turbo Guru's?

Call Jose at http://www.forcedinductions.com, you can replace compressor wheels on some BB turbos, just not bearings. And this, kids, is why we don't do drugs.

    Love and Marriage

Gives the term "2 weeks" a whole new meaning!
  16. I saw one in UA a few days ago, it looked odd. I didnt like it at all.
  17. Nice, that way when a heater fails you have a section of road with solid ice.
  18. http://www.jegs.com/i/Harland-Sharp/851/S4102/10002/-1?parentProductId=749542 The part number is right on the package in his picture.
  19. Meijers has it. I had it a week or so ago, it's no KBBA, but it's good. The closest I have found.
  20. What? Every car I put longtubes on got poly mounts. I've probably installed 20 sets. I do not have a single set of stockers, they all saw the dumpster.
  21. How about a 02 devile with 70k miles, ex Florida car. Was my grandfathers car, he put 20k on it, I put 50k highway miles on it in a year. Clean, nice, everything works and is in almost perfect shape.
  22. I just use chase rewards. I end up with about $100 in gift cards a month. I'd say it's worth the $25 fee once a year.
  23. The cams will play a big role in how much compression you can run with pump gas and a decent amount of pressure.
  24. It's not Fat Greg. It's normal Greg who just appears to be Fat Greg.
