  1. If it is one owner and the clutch was done recently, I've got to think it's a pretty good deal for a 130k car. Even though I crapped on them, it might be worth the look. In MINI's defense, the non-S I drove was at CarMax and it was totally ragged out by some dog-loving woman. Even after the CarMax cleaning, you could see animal scratches on the hard plastic and there was sh!t caked in panel gaps and behind the vents. Plus, the rotors were horribly warped. It is still slow but it's got a lot of character so if you can grab one for $3-4k... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Hopefully better luck for you!
  2. Doc, I won't be able to make it but thank you for opening the Hangout to the guys. If anyone's reading this and doesn't have plans on Saturday night, Doc's Hangout is a good time to shoot the shizz with some of CR.
  3. Yes...the remaining structure will be retained for SPARC. The "grounds" have been cleared and excavation will resume in the spring. 2016 now???
  4. Casey, do a search as I drove a non-S Cooper and did a review on it. Was surprised how much I hated it. My only comment about the first-gens.
  5. I think the diesel soot/drippings helped keep that Rabbit preserved all these years! Looking great, mang...
  6. Detroit Diesel 4-53T. Turbocharged and Supercharged two-stroke diesel that runs forever and can be repaired with a sledgehammer. The 6V53 (V6, 53ci per cylinder) or 6V71 (V6, 71ci per cylinder) would be too big for that narrow framerail chassis. You don't need to understand diesels to put one of these in that chassis and roar down the road.
  7. I did crew in high school and I'm shocked at how bad those rowers are, as well as the parents.
  8. I didn't realize it was today until morning news...been on the road all day for work. If it survives this evening I'll go in for the next drawing.
  9. LOL @ this thread...was listening to Hot Sauce Committee Part II on my way home from Cleveland. Agreed...nice "exercise" but I didn't like the outcome.
  10. I had a massive claim in 2013 from smoke remediation related to a basement fire. Cincinnati Insurance was great to work with.

    Boats

I would highly recommend this, or renting a boat a few times this summer to ensure you not only 1) Will boat enough to justify the cost/maintenance, but also 2) Make sure you find a boat you like. I've got a 23' Hurricane in our boatslip in FL, and I'm not only happy with the deal I got but it really is the perfect boat for a young family. I not only got recommendations from friends in FL, but also rode in a few different boat styles to get comfy with what we liked. If this was a car thread, it would be "I'd like a fun ride for the summer!" and getting a convertible while immediately finding out that you hate convertibles.
  12. Couple cracks on the dash pad, but the interior looks great!
  13. Could've done without that super hi-res photo, then DAT TITLE LINE...:barf: http://media.giphy.com/media/EiCQzmzE5HLaw/giphy.gif
  14. Props for the casting. Tough for the cops that this movie is coming out; and public perception of police officers has been going so well recently. :gabe: BTW: Aldis Hodge is the second coming of Chris Tucker...
  15. Dat frunt plate doe... Love the car! Congratulations again!
  16. What's this...some Japanese car importer here in Columbus? http://www.4thup.com
  17. Wow, Wags...I've never seen Kevan's car in a better light. Amazing pics!:thumbup:
  18. Two words: JONATHAN LAMBERTON Oh...and Grant's just bitter because he got pulled over in his Saturn for "Operating a clown car without a valid circus license". Here's a picture of Grant prepping his SL1 the first time he drove it: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v724/Evosky/hightower_zps9d25485d.jpg
  19. Holy shit...that place was PACKED. Glad we grabbed some liter beers and went to the Biergarten. Looking forward to having a CR meet there sometime soon!
  20. 7:30pm for a bier or zwei.
  21. Well, I sold it. LOL. I've still got RIG and a few inverse ETFs that I'll rebalance I guess :fa:
  22. Andy, thinking of this to replace the Passat in FL: - How are the tires on the 19"s? - A/C works well?
  23. If you were up 43% in a stock since September, but the dividend yield was decent, would you stay in it or liquidate? My Fidelity IRA allows options, but I've never done any strategies...
