    LOL

Well, I would guess that if it were profitable, then the Jegs service department and machine shop would still be in business and doing well. Here are the issues with keeping a performance shop in business, and not in order 1) Most vehicles aren't designed to handle more power than stock, adding more power, or changing the stock design challenges many other parts in the vehicle.. 2) most if not all performance parts aren't held to the same manufacturing tolerances and needs of factory parts, that means, they don't fit well, work well, or last long. All of this is bad for a shop, lots of finger pointing. 3) When you add performance parts to your car, there are no guarantees that shit won't break, and due to the fact that you are going to beat the shit out of a car that has parts that weren't designed for that abuse, you can pretty much guarantee that shit is going to break. Again lots of finger pointing and future repairs. There are many other factors that contribute to how shitty a performance business is. But in a nutshell, working on stock cars with stock parts in general is a pain in the ass. Installing aftermarket parts that require more time, patience and less reliability is a big problem. Realistically, most of us want to make our car as fast as a Veyron, but have a much smaller budget, this is not conducive for a shop to make money installing the parts, and attempting to make them all work correctly on a budget. I'm not saying that you can't make money with a performance shop, but you will have a steep hill to climb IMO.
  2. It's not to make the masses happy, just the simple fact that you are trying to find a transmission that is at a minimum 10 years old( more like 15 plus years) more than likely beat within an inch of its life, rather expensive to rebuild, and you will definately spend $1500 or over for this gamble. There's a small chance that this $1500 plus transmission is going to need nothing, but as said above more than likely needs internal parts, because it's been beat to shit. If anything is wrong with the trans, usually the fix is minimum $500 in parts, that's fixing it yourself, and if you can't do that, labor will double that at a minimum. That's the best case scenario. Or you can base your build with the prices and expectations of JP's car, who will have you believe that you can find one of these for $500 and it will come with a free LS 1. With a little bubble gum and some zip ties and $4000 you too can have a 900whp car. These expectations are possible, but usually not probable.
  3. It's a mustang 600 hp = 350 real world hp, hence the 2 mile pull
  4. I can guess that the tire failure has more to do with the fact that the rollers are small diameter, and the car is also ratchet strapped down, putting much more weight on the rear. With a small contact patch, more pressure per square inch of contact, and a small diameter roller distorting the tire looks like a failure . The age of the tire is definately a cause for concern, tires over 7 or 8 years old don't take abuse and heat well.
  5. You have too many expectations for someone given the name Kerry and from the east coast. Let this be a warning to all to choose your male offspring names wisely.
  6. I would bet that this year that average is down quite a bit from 3.5 hours
  7. Or into the fuel tank because the cap was loose and under water.
  8. this is what I was told from a reputable source. The car is definately true, the money, I can only guess that if the car isn't being paid for that being true. The surgery apparently covertly done, and many lies were told about what kind of surgery to cover it up.
  9. I heard he had a breast reduction, (true apparently from steroid abuse) cut off from family money, and has a car at a shop in town that has not been paid for.
  10. 4wd or 2wd? Colorado based v8 or older s10? Cheapest route would be a complete 2500hd dropout with 4l80e and transfer case. You could use all of the accessories and 4l80 would hold your power. Factory alternatives would be from a 1500 which would leave with you with a 4l60 or 65e and that would need to have to be upgraded internally. There are many options, depends on how big your budget is.
  11. Too vague of a question to answer, what vehicle is it going in, what hp level, built engine or stock,
  12. "Hispanic dude named Juan" Good thing you cleared that question up, I thought he may have been Asian
  13. Brakes, axles, wheels, springs, shocks, transmission, transfer case, the engine swap would be lots easier than all that.
  14. How big is this trailer? Seems like it may be the gross trailer weight of the trailer, and not actually the weight? Travel trailers that I have seen weigh no where near 4 tons.
  15. Inner cv joint is toast on one or both sidel
  16. Yea , you can see it on Cuban Chrome.
  17. I do not slide that the buyer protection for cars is the same as general merchandise. I think it is more caveat emptor with actual cars and such. General merchandise is protected well.
  18. So to summarize, the bump was marked, you should either get some glasses, or surrender your license, and those residents have every right to try and keep you out of what you consider a short cut.
  19. Well, maybe the homeowner that owns the Mclaren in there will put up a fight. I saw him driving down riverside the other day, but his car had all the struts and suspension intact. He lives down closer to the fifth avenue area in the houses.
  20. I can only speculate that if the neighbors in this particular area didn't want these 1992 sc300 suspension killers, then the wouldn't be there. I would suppose if people weren't driving down their street, at speeds greater than the posted speed limit , then there would be no need for these parking curbs. Since you see no harm in driving over the speed limit in the neighborhood where you decided to cut through, I would guess to save time, how do you see harm in the people trying to deterr you from from doing something that certainly does them no good at all? It's sad that they have had to resort to this to stop people from speeding through their street. Pretty sure you won't be cutting through that road again.
  21. I can only imagine how seeing that in 1905 would have been, as it is still very incredible over 110 years later.
  22. So you were traveling 40% over the posted speed limit, and you are wondering why the people who live there are trying to keep you off of their road? And the best part is that you stated that you were "just" 10 mph above the speed limit.
  23. Everyone should run their own business in their lifetime. If you are an employee, you will never understand, simple as that.
