  1. Most glass guys will shy away from old glass, especially 22 year old glass. Rear glass is tempered, and is easier, front laminated, and when old is very difficult to work with.
  2. Let me take that back, casey's car was $42,000 in 2011. The turbo x50 996 over triple that in 2003 money. I guess the manufacturer thought the car was a quality piece, as they certainly asked quite a lot for it. Oh yea, the Cayenne shaft took a shit at 72,000 miles, and the intake had to come off for the third time ( first for the coolant tubes, next starter 3000 miles later as coolant leaked on it and took it out, and the last time was for the coolant tee behind the engine that is made of the same fine plastic as,the rest) Consumes 1 qt of oil every 1000 miles. I expect this sort of problem at over 100,000 miles or more, coolant tube popout Really unnecessary. I don't know why you wouldn't hold a car on such a high pedestal when the manufacturer seems to with words like excellence, driving machine and such. They seem to charge enough to manufacture a more reliable car, but don't seem to hit the mark. I would expect this from a cheaper car, but more than likely would get a more reliable machine. I have older Mercedes and Porsches that had many small issues, these have larger issues and are newer with many less miles.
  3. Well, keep in mind that the SS is around $50 k in today's dollar. The cars we are talking about were double if not triple that 11 years ago. While I agree that the oil pump failure should not happen, and am disappointed by it, in a car that is near triple the existing price of a new Camaro, these are simple but pain in the ass problems. I purchased the 996 turbo, by reading things like bulletproof and reliable on forums. That sort of stuff isn't acceptable to me, not just because it is a car that today would be $200,000.
  4. Typically seems to be happening on start-up, relief valve sticks open, dumping oil back to pan. Possibly thicker oil being used than called for? Even a 10wt in older ls engines seems to raise oil pressure quite a bit. Nonetheless, Not well thought out design. No warning.
  5. Most of the guys that own them, overlook the many shortcomings, and place the cars on pedestals. There aren't many of these cars, but they fail in a large way, quite a bit, and usually for shit like plastic coolant tubes, and aluminum coolant nipples, glued in place with shit glue. Bad engineering, and overthinking, and poor choices for plastic materials, are what the Germans should be known for.
  6. I would call than an exception, rather than the rule. If you browse the internet you can also find Dodge Intrepid's with 230,000 plus miles, and 2.7 and 3.2 engines. If you enjoy the car that much you can and will keep it running forever. Reliable is certainly not the word I would use for Porsche, unless of course you fix the coolant tubes, IMS bearings, trans popout and other things. My Porsches, cayenne turbo, and 996 turbo, are piles of shit, requiring constant maintenance. The euro 928 I had came with some issues, but never left me on the side of the road, and these have over 4 times with less than 80,000 miles. I would call and Acura NSX a reliable car, same with the supra. Like I have said before, go buy a European car for how it makes you feel, not for reliability, and if you do purchase one, get a warranty.
  7. 570-8645 Olay this guy is good and reasonable
  8. That's good math there, let us know how the non negotiable clause works out for you. New brakes and tires are always a strong selling point for a car that doesn't run. Quite a find on Craigslist, a few more of those and your math, and you will be able to retire early
  9. Henry at Blagois will tell you that the Audis are the most reliable of the German cars. He says that he works on them the least. Under 50 to 60 thousand miles , and less than 5 years old Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, will be reliable cars, but hit the 70 to 80k mark break out the checkbook. Consider yourself fortunate that the other cars you have had were reliable, as I have also had about enough of the German absolute pieces of shit that I have, it is almost a full time job to keep the 5 of them running. Best thing about that is that the highest mileage one is 84,000. Most if not all of the problems I have had with them is either electrical, or related to some sort of plastic, polymer, glue , or in the case of the bmw the rubber bushings that have not been designed correctly, or have degraded. In all cases the failures have left the Rube Goldberg machine useless, and requiring towing. If I have to take a long trip, I take the CTSV, and it has given me the least amount of problems (read NONE) Regardless, take it to Blagois, they may be your best choice.
  10. I would be far more concerned with the gooey mess that e85 turns into inside the fuel system. Sticky sugary mess that builds up on injectors, clogs paper filters, and evaporates quickly.
  11. Yes, I was going to mention them, they will be able to fix it, but with these cars finding the problem, and getting to it is most of the battle and cost.
  12. All German cars are below average in the reliability department, factor in the added cost to repair, and they are quite some piles of shit. It is definitely one of the areas of life that spending more does not get you more quality or reliability, just the opposite.
  13. Those look like the original forgeline 16" or 17" wheel line. Not extremely pretty, but very light and stronger than a 3 piece wheel.
  14. Only problem with seeding a small spot like that is matching the seed type to the existing lawn. If you don't match it, the spot will grow, and look different at different times of the year. This can be problematic in the spring, when the grass you choose to seed the area decides to grow before the others, and will be different shades of green. I agree with the sod, instant green, and probably not much more expensive than seeding it twice, which you will probably have to do. If you decide to seed this , do yourself a favor and pick a certain seed and stick with it, changing manufacturers and varieties, will get you a patchwork quilt. It wouldn't be a bad idea to overseed the whole area , as it can be like touching up paint, very noticeable if not done well.
  15. I believe this thread is about Fig Wigglins lost brother Turd Ferguson, who is contemplating a build that will make the starship Enterprise's warp drive feel like creeper gear. It appears that the both of them lost most of their brain matter at birth, from an erroneous Shart, when they were exiting. Nonetheless , if you feel the need to call out Fig, or his brother Turd, you may want to use the other thread, it has a direct link to the NASA program. Be warned though, octagonal exhaust pipes make big HP numbers, the data directly from the Kennedy Space center does not lie, plus it reminds Fig of the last tube he was blown out of.
  16. Assume nothing but skeet stains and ass juice for the $20 asking price. Sam and his family typically hang around the house sans undergarments. I believe that germ free sectionals can be had at sofa express, and they welcome black lights.
  17. On the back of your current title, complete the new buyers name and address, plus the purchase price. Complete the odometer certification area stating the mileage as it appears on the odometer. Under the mileage area is the seller's notary section, which must be completed and notarized. Next, the buyer must acknowledge the mileage as stated by the seller by filling in his signature and printing his name. Please note that you are attesting to the actual mileage of the vehicle. The seller should make a copy of the front and back of the assigned title and remove the plates from the vehicle.
  18. Ahlum and arbor on walcutt bulk with delivery, tree guys that have mulch made from trees , not Ohio mulch pallets and everything else
  19. no it's good, these were throwaways 6 or 7 years ago, then people figured out you can make big power with 4.8 5.3 and 6.0, but cannot fit the truck intake under anything but a truck, and some older cars. Cheapest one on eBay right now that has bids on it is $142, with $50 shipping, looking up,past sales looks like they go for close to $200 plus shipping. You can always go to the aluminum Chinese one for $220 shipped, but it looks like it may weigh 25lbs or so.
  20. I see that you are opening your cock garage as well! I suppose that you can still be a hillbilly and cobble on cocks when in Pataskala and Dublin.
