Actually, I think it is illegal, or at least it was until recently. Probably something to do with keepin' them darn kids with their souped-up old jalopies from hot-roddin all over the town, scarin' the horses and whatnot.

For a basic idea of what you have and what it could be worth, there are value guides at the library. I can't recall the exact title of the one I have in mind, but check with the information desk, and they will be able to find it for you. DO NOT, repeat DO NOT, begin the conversation with, "I've got a whole bunch of guns...." though!"

Got pics or a site addy for that Caddy? Never seen a turbo'd Northstar, and only a few SC'd ones at that. -
Dear DHL, I'm extremely dissapointed in you.

For UPS and DHL at least, if any dimension of the box is greater than 34in (not sure of the exact number, but it's right around that), it can become jammed in their roller belts. Then everything else jams up behind it. Then some box monkey comes along and drops your box 20 feet off the belt to clear the jam. You can select special handling for oversize boxes, but they just throw it on the belt anyway. -

It increases the yield of the oilfield. Oil comes out because it is under pressure. What happens once you've taken out enough oil to reduce the pressure? So you pump seawater down to maintain the pressure in the oil bearing rock and force more oil out. -
I've got a MTAC for my Springfield XD .45, and I like it a lot. The only problem I've had is that the 1.5in belt size standard clips seemed to be a little undersized. A thick 1.5in belt would go through, but not easily. Obviously, this helps keep the holster located properly and prevents it from sliding around, but it is a little inconvenient. Thinner belts solved the problem.

An 85 Accord (for example) with a persistent mis-fire is, technically, another vehicle. I'm betting the actual legal language is something along the lines of "Equal or equivalent value" though. It'd be nice if you could stick a deadbeat with a dog-turd all nice and legal though.....

United States Postal Service....so nice I don't initialize their name! FedEx won't get it to you on time because they never bothered to pick it up. DHL will send it to the wrong place or lose it entirely. UPS will bend it into shapes that physics say are impossible, then blame you for "improperly" packaging it. -
....at the National Speed Limit of 55MPH.

I totally agree with the sentiment, but....um....the Spartans got their asses slaughtered. Killed, each and every single man. What they DID accomplish was to delay the Persian army for 3 crucial days while the Athenian navy rebuilt and regrouped prior to the Battle of Salamis. Sorry, historical revisionism, no matter WHAT the reason for it, just annoys the hell out of me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Thermopylae

Guys shoots himself with a Glock 18

I know it sounds stupid, but I think one of those 50 round mags would actually be a GOOD idea with this thing. The extra weight and mass would go a long way to reducing the muzzle flip. Proper grip technique is only going to do so much with the torque that thing could make. BTW 2000-2500 rounds per minute! Jeebus. -
Gotta admit, I would NEVER have thought that the "Billie Jean" beat would WORK with the "Under Pressure" bass line.....but it does. Musically speaking, that is an INTERESTING fusion there.

The silver CRX in 10 and 11.....are those mid 80s BMW rims?

Wow and I thought my dog pulling 1000lbs was impressive..

Especially when the job is a bit easier and MUCH safer than what they were bred to do....Bulldogs would bite a bull on the nose and hang on until the bull got tired of slamming them into trees. Then Johnny Farmer would come along and put a rope around the bulls neck. -
anyone watch MAN MADE ? 747 depleted uranium????
Avenger1647545502 replied to Rob1647545496's topic in Dumpster
Um, I didn't watch it, but my guess would be that they found detectable levels from servicemen tracking it in after the first Gulf War. 90% of service personnel came home on regular airliners. Standard vacuum cleaners won't suck it up from carpets, and it gradually gets pushed down into the bottom of the plane. Same thing with mercury and other heavy elements. -
I'd imagine that the manufacturer would have information on getting replacement panels on their website. Might be a little hard to find though, most companies tend to bury that stuff in favor of selling an entire new door. But, I can't see them telling people, "Nope, tough luck, lump it and pay somebody else...."

Lincoln's will do 1/4, but don't expect to do 1/4 QUICKLY, even with the heat cranked.

Has anyone ever heard anything about how the lawsuit(s) resolved? I remember seeing the local news report, the first thought that went through my head was, "Oh, he left the bottle heater on!"

You all know the story of the Autozone employee who asked the customer what year Ford his Corvette was? It happened in 1993 at the store on Main Street in Reynoldsburg. My roommate was in line behind the guy at the time. I just had the fun of trying to buy a new serpentine belt idler pulley from them. Got a tensioner pulley. Got an idler pulley, but for some other car. Got another tensioner pulley, with some weird-ass adapter sleeve that would last about a tenth of a second with a 80lbs sheer load on it. Then I got the correct idler pulley, but it came with pre-destroyed bearings. Went to Napa, the guy didn't even have to look it up, just grabbed it from the shelf and told me, "Hope you have a set of Gearwrenches, it's fun getting to the bolt on those!"

New law that will probably be passed....stop light cameras
Avenger1647545502 replied to baron_'s topic in Passing Lane
Middletown, huh? My grandparents lived there for years, I spent a lot of time there. Have they invented a "Just randomly fucking U-turn wherever the hell there isn't actually a wall in the way" camera yet? I saw more cars 180 in that town in a single week than the entire rest of my life. I don't think red-light cameras would even work, nobody actually ever got to an intersection..... I agree about the cameras, just drive through any of the intersections here in town that have them and notice all the black streaks. -
Pick-n-Pull does indeed sell wheels. It's in their price list, and they've got literally dozens of alloys sitting in one of bays of the shed by the entrance area. The problem is actually finding what you are looking for, Cougars aren't that common. Edison's on McKinley used to have a lot of late-model wheels, but their prices were stupidly high. I'd imagine that there is a FWD Cougar forum out there, and odds are somebody there has exactly the rim you want for sale. Probably the easiest way to get ahold of one.

Has anyone been to pick and pull lately?
Avenger1647545502 replied to CJINOHIO03's topic in Passing Lane
They say they rotate stock on a 30-day basis. It comes in, sits for a month, then they scrap it. Dunno how true that is though, I've seen some cars sit for longer in the Mopar section, whereas GM stuff seems to get crushed faster. -
I don't have my Season 3 DVD on hand, so I may be wrong, but doesn't "boxing" refer to just not allowing further resurrections from the line as they die off naturally? Or do they go ahead and kill off all the individuals from the line as well? If they don't kill off the entire line, perhaps they just cull the line to remove the unstable ones, and then isolate the rest in positions where they can't cause problems? Killing off 8.3% of your popualtion seems like it would create a large number of problems with staffing, let alone the effort involved in making sure none of them are left to pull a Gelfling on you!
