  2. I got a deal on a new TV and need to get rid of this one. It is a 1999 Sony Model # KP-48s65 48" Rear Projection - Working great. This was the TV used in the family room. I really like this TV and hate to see it go, but I have no room to keep it. Comes with remote. Picture is great - camera sucks... Yes it is old. Yes it is big. Yes it is awesome! $125.00 http://www.downingracing.com/forsale/pictures/tv1.jpg http://www.downingracing.com/forsale/pictures/tv2.jpg
  3. I ordered my last one from JCWhitney. Delivered in 2 days and installed on a 20 year old van in 1.5 hours (including wiring). All very easy and doing it myself saved me 65% of the uHaul quoted price. Wiring is easy too... With the internet, you can find a youtube video with step by step instructions. Good luck!
  4. My .02¢ is: You left the 'accident' scene without even talking to them or looking at your car for damage (or exchanging information). Being in a hurry is not an excuse for not checking the car right there and talking to them. Now you're going to go find this guy down the road and tell him that the damage on your car was caused by that incident and you want him to pay to repair it. And you expect him to take your word for it that that damage all came from that incident. (He doesn't know you and may not take you at your word) Police will take an accident report on private property; they just won't issue any ticket. Did you fill out an accident/incident report at the track (with the track)? I don't know drag racing, but other forms of racing require an incident/accident report for anything that happens on the track property (especially in the paddock/spectator area). Do you have any witness statements? (If not, get them ASAP) The longer you wait the less "details" they will remember. Incidents with 'race cars' at the track are fuzzy... The can of worms opened by trying to make an insurance claim can cost more than the repairs. I'd at least make an effort to talk to the person and see what they say. If they tell you to pound sand, you do have several courses of action (small claims, your insurance, pay for it yourself...). I don't have any idea who would be found at-fault for the incident by an insurance company or the courts. I know situations like this suck and make you sick to your stomach. Sorry to hear about this and I hope it all works out for you!

  6. Fun facts from the Dispatch: In 2010 - The average household income in Ohio was $46,093 (http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2011/09/14/median-income-in-ohio-hits-27-year-low.html) Salary range for COTA bus drivers is: $14.58 to $24.31/hr (or $30,326.40 to $50,564.80/yr) (http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2012/07/03/cota-strike-continues-as-union-nixes-deal.html) I'm missing the part where COTA drivers are under-paid and can't make a fair (good actually) wage... After only 7 years on the job, a driver can be at the top of the salary scale and be making close to (or more) than the average household income in the state. Seems like a good salary (starting and top) to me...
  7. bing.com shopping still returns results. That is what I use for search now.
  8. The problem with this whole mess is that there are people who don't want to pay for health insurance. That is OK! But they then expect to be treated for a major issue by a hospital and will freak out when that hospital asks them for a $100,000 deposit before helping them. So when they show up with issue X, the hospital helps them and never gets paid for it. Then they bill those of us with insurance more money to make up for the payments they won't get from the other folks. So what do you do?? You force everyone to have coverage. (Which is a BAD solution with all kinds of other implications that are being discussed in this thread) I would have liked to see the government add Medical debt to the list of debt that can't be charged off with bankrupcy. (I personally believe that no debt should be able to be charged off - but that is another discussion) My premiums went up 30% last year and the level of coverage went down (and I work for a large corporation). along with other increases in the coverage, I'm paying about 50% more out of pocket for worse coverage. I'm expecting the same thing for 2013. There are some other limits thanks to this mess that will further limit my ability to 'plan ahead' for a major medical issue... Good times!
  9. If there are several in Tx, why not buy one there and drive it home? I've purchased several cars out of state - fly out and drive back. I get exactly what I'm looking for and a road trip! It may cost you an additional few hundred to have the vehicle inspected by a local repair shop/dealer, but it gets you exactly what you're looking for. Good luck!
  10. priceline is the only way to rent a car. I get all my rentals from them and pickup at the airport. Save TONS.
  11. Ordered my trailer tires from here: http://www.vulcantire.com/trailer_tires.htm Fast shipping and cheaper than I could find anywhere local. Good luck.
  12. You should charge something on it every month. Something you pay cash for and are buying anyway. When you get the bill - pay it off. I've been doing this for years and have a very good credit score. I pay my balance in full every month and get CC rewards on top of that. I've had my current CC for 3 years and have over $1200 in rewards dollars given to me for doing nothing more than borrowing the bank's money interest free. I've got a second CC (been open for 10 years) and it is a GM rewards card. I keep it open and only use it when my rewards balance is below the maximum I can have for a new vehicle purchase. The 'game' is easy to come out ahead - you just need to be smart and not spend over your means. Easier said than done for most.
  13. http://www.slowmotionmotorsports.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=4&Itemid=18 Sat. is appointment only - so they can be there. Sunday is not an option per the link above.
  14. Slowmotion Motorsports could do it as well. They did mine the same way.
  15. I'm in need of several 5-speed transmissions for a 92-95 Civic EX. Will buy anything from bare case/gears _to_ "with issues" _to_ perfect working order... Let me know what you've got and what you want for it. I'm located in Pickerington and can travel to pick-up. Thanks!
  16. Glad they are wasting time with redundant laws. Already have distracted driving laws - how about just enforce the existing laws! Just as hard to enforce, but no need for redundant laws. These laws are 'feel good' laws - Hard to enforce and won't stop bad drivers. Maybe making the driving test harder with re-testing every X years... Plenty of ways to get bad drivers off the road but no one wants to reduce the overall # of drivers. If 30% of drivers were unable to get a license, think about what would happen with car sales/insurance/gas... I don't know what % of people wouldn't be able to pass a 'real' driving test - 30% was a guess. Driving 25k/yr - I see tons of bad drivers daily! All my .02¢
  17. This. I've been hit in a Civic and there was no visible damage - but the car had major damage under the trunk area. Enough to total loss the car. Rear bumper cover looked almost perfect too. Hopefully you don't have any 'real' damage...
  18. SCCA Great Lakes Road Race Schedule: http://www.greatlakes-scca.org/files/2012%20GLDiv%20Club%20Racing%20schedule_4.pdf
  19. I'm re-stocking my parts supply for the race car. Looking for OEM Milano Red 92-95 2-3 door Honda Civic body parts. These parts are for a Coupe, so B pillar forward from either will work. No hatches or hatch rear bumpers are needed. OEM only in good/great condition. Happy to pay more for great parts. Really need fenders! I'm in Pickerington and have a big pickup truch to transport parts. Let me know what you've got. Thanks!!!
  20. Auto - 4 door Civics should be priced well on CL (and everywhere else). Not a Coupe or Hatch and not a 5-speed means lower prices. And probably not beat on... GL with your search.
  21. Wow. A month?? I got my new card in 1 day from my bank when mine stopped working... I've got accounts all around town and one is with a Credit Union. They have good customer service, but they are a small shop. The credit union is where I park money that I don't need fast access to. It costs me money to get to my money from anywhere other than the Credit Union and they don't have many locations. They do have looser lending practices - they still give signature loans for customers with great credit.
  22. Just treat it like any used car - inspect the hell out of it. A branded title will lower the resale value. A non-branded title does NOT mean the car is 'good'. You need to inspect every used car for frame damage, repair damage and issues. Don't assume that a rebuilt title means the car is a POS. Many cars get a rebuilt title with no damage... Good luck.
  23. Will also trade for a Verizon wireless smart phone (driod X or iPhone).
