  1. Great food and great people as usual.
  2. If you want to buy them in the future OTC is the place online to buy re production specialty automotive tools.
  3. I think I may have seen 1 of these attempts that looks somewhat well done.
  4. +1 damn near need this right off the bat if you are in a dedicated shop space.
  5. I would stay where I am, continue accepting side work until it got the point that it was consistent on a week to week basis. From there I would start looking at what that income is on average and use that as a basis to start looking for space based on over head. My thoughts are a joint venture would yield the best result. I see so many people looking to go into fabrication and modification, but my feeling is that maintenance is where you want to be starting out since it is quick in and out and somewhat consistent. You need some sort of money flow while you work on that 1 car that will take 1-3 weeks to prepare pending part availability and difficulty of the desired work. The issue is the time wasted in a small shop setting keeping cars mobile and shuffling them around depending on parts or waiting on second party.
  6. Thanks for the references guys, but we don't do clutch replacements in house. Too long of a turn around time for the size shop we have.
  7. Working on the Cabrio at the shop tonight.
  8. Agreed, although when it comes down to looks, the original one would still do it for me personally. This one you posted is pretty neat, although a little more aggressive than I would like.
  9. Well Scott, I think you know my answer. Although consider this. I am in a position where I have a super fun autoX car that makes less power and has less potential to make more power easily than your Miata. AND I really want something that is somewhat faster to play with as extra. You have both, although an auto Camaro would not be my first choice. Enjoy both?
  10. I'd love to order and personally assemble an Ultima GTR with some sort of "unusual" motor that you don't often see in them. I'd say that's the fantasy build. Build an air cooled 911 with all of the "best bits", probably a turbo look chassis from the mid to late 80's. On the other hand I have really been digging the Audi S2's/Coupe Quattro with some sort of monster Turbo 5cyl build. A little closer to home it would be fun to STI swap my wagon. Reality if you ask me in a week it will be different as I remember past ideas that would still be cool.
  11. May miss dinner, prepping race car to leave the house in the A.M. hopefully things go well.
  12. Hey Doc, have you tried that new place that is in where Nova used to be?
  13. AH. Gotcha, thinking to old school.
  14. Where is the trailer harness tapped in at? You know the wiring is good to that point....... DO your turn signals/hazard lights work?
  15. When you installed the wheel cylinders are the bleeders above the hard line? What was the original problem that led you to change the listed components? Does the car have ABS?
  16. +1 love this type of stuff. The price just kills me sometimes though. Especially T-Shirts.
  17. Here's a start.... http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109954
  18. No she doesn't autocross LOL.
  19. Try to verify when the timing belt was last changed. Automatic Miata's are "cool" because my Grandma buys them. She currently has an '08 auto that she loves to death. It's not that bad for someone who doesn't want to drive a manual. You can still flog the car in a rewarding way, just not as rewarding as a 5 speed. Obviously the manual is more fun to me, but it's not for everyone.
