  1. When another company (unions) steps in and tells you how to run your business, it's only a matter of time.
  2. I was looking at an Alpine unit at Best Buy (PKG-RSE2) and was going to pick it up, but figured I'd see how much they were online first. $549 online vs. $799 at Bestbuy. Plus Best Buy wants $180 to install it and another $150 to install a unit so it's hard wired to the car's radio vs. playing through an FM frequency. While I don't mind the $180 install, I do mind paying $250 more for the same DVD player. If I purchased the DVD player online, who could I have install it? Columbus Car Audio? Thanks! Jason
  3. Guy had one at trails like 8 years ago with a SBC in it. Car ran mid 12's on stock tires! I agree, if it runs it's worth $250.
  4. I believe so. One of my favorite cars!
  5. That looks like a lot of fun! I wish my car did that! Jason
  6. That sucks too. I am still hoping to pull off a cage this year, but need to see how bad taxes are going to be first. lol I'm also hoping to be able to run very well at MCIR. Converting the car over to a 4L80E which has a 2.48 first gear vs my 4L65's 3.06. Should help the car all the way around. Pretty excited about the conversion! However as stated earlier, track prep there is so bad, simple changes in the weather effect traction. They literally only prep about 6' of track. Still fun! I'll probably just head to Muncie a few times. Well worth the trip. Jason
  7. I'd like to go to any track that will hook decently and doesn't care if I don't have a cage. Muncie is a haul(3hours), but track prep is amazing, cost is much cheaper then all the amounts listed here and they don't care about the cage. Plus the owner really seemed like a nice guy that enjoys cars which is why he spends so much time preping the track. He sprays the Entire 1/4 mile! Said after his prep, if you can lift your tires on the starting line and can't turn around at the end of the 1/4 mile and do it going back, he'd give you your money back. Takes pride in it. Jason
  8. I think that was Jim D in the first pass with the camera? He's on here with his GTO, though I haven't seen a post of his in awhile.
  9. Welcome to CR! Can never have too many LSX cars
  10. LOL, this sounds like it would be a lot of fun!

When they started having events every two weeks. The main cards aren't as exciting as they use to be. I do agree this UFC looks pretty interesting though!
  12. Because of driveability. When your talking about a modified car, it's much easier to live with an automatic then the aftermarket clutches available for the cars. It also makes the cars faster and much more consistant in the 1/4 mile. It's the main reason Mark and I have the fastest two in the country by over 1/2 a second. That and IPS did a great job on the TT setup allowing us to beat the shit out of the cars all summer with no problems! There are a few guys putting down at or close to 1000rwhp and getting no where near the ET's or MPH that we achieve with the auto's.
  13. Those are good, I like this one though! Wolves vs. Coyote
  14. Good times for your first time out. As far as stock car/stock tires. The Record is like a 10.8 or something like that. I went 11.7@124 the 2nd day I owned mine (bone stock) and I couldn't drive it yet. A little more seat time and you'll get those times down considerably. Mark went 11.37 on stock tires with just a K&N. Wait till it gets a little cooler... you'll be flying!! On stock tires with the same mods Cavin had, i got consistant 11.3/11.4's, but found it to be rather inconsistant because your really trying to push it and there is a fine line between traction, bogging, or spinning. Which is why I went with the nittos. While my 60's averaged out to be within .01 between nittos and stock tires, I had much less scrapped passes with the nittos. Get drag radials, nobody gives a shit what you can do on stock tires. It makes the car more fun to drive, more consistant, and allows you to really dial in your driving. Just my .02 cents
  15. Why do people give a shit what Cavin has or does? I mean wtf this isn't high school. Threads like this should just be locked and or deleted. Or maybe you guys can contact TMZ to update the entire country when Cavin does something. He's an adult that has a love for cars/bikes like all of us, let him be.
  16. Icing on the cake, Quarterback throws an interception to end the game! Was a very good game at the end, rest was meh...
  17. Marks car had 20+ passes and 500+ street miles on his car and the transmission was on it's way out. Mine had been rebuilt. I literally picked my car up from RPM and took it to the track. After 10 passes between 9.27 and 9.73 all at 151+ my trans is still going strong, but I left it in Indiana to have it gone through again to see if there is any damage. They keep tweaking them and they keep getting stronger and stronger. Who would have thought a 4L60 trans could ever handle this!
  18. Touchdown Colts! lol. This game is an epic fail for the quarterback of the Texans.
  19. It's not over yet, as I type this, but I think it will be soon with the Colts winning.. Texans were up 17 points with just over 4 minutes left. Colts score a TD and do an onside kick which fails. All the Texans need to do is run the ball and run the clock down to win, since they are up 10 points. Quarterback decides he's going to run the ball and fumbles it, Colts recover and run it in for a touchdown. Colts kick it off, and what do you know... quarterback fumbles the ball again! Now Colts are in the redzone getting ready to score again with only 2 minutes left!
  20. He said it depends on the number of cars. It starts at like $750. I know RPM paid $1250 and that included the ambulance and there had to have been over 50 cars there. The owner said if he knows what's coming he'll do the track extra with gold dust and extra VHT. He sprays down the entire 1/4 mile. I do think he does extra prep for a rental, as I wasn't getting as good of traction during the evening event as I did for the rental. Of course there were a million street tire cars there, which doesn't help. Only thing about a CR rental is the distance, Muncie is 3-3.5 hours away from Columbus, and most don't need a track that hooks like that. I think it would be hard to get a lot of CR in on it. Of course I'd personally pay $100 to go there, so we could always do one lane and only have 10 people go.
  21. I'll sell you my Z06 repro rims that are at IPS for $250 then all you need is drag radials. They are 18x10.5" Just talk to Brandon.
  22. This was the exact quote I was going to type out from that video. That video was great!
