  1. I am looking to "repower" one of the D Sports Racers over the winter. I will need to purchase a late model bike motor. Since we use the harness etc. it is easiest to purchase a wrecked/salvage bike and remove what we need and part out the rest. In looking at COPART, some stuff you can buy outright, some you need to use a broker. Other sites will proxy bid for you for a fee and have the appropriate licenses. Anyone use any of these? Experiences good/bad? Just want to get a little educated before I jump in.
  2. The car was pretty much done before I went to see Brian. It did run (very poorly) as OSU for the Governor's Cup event - but I hope to go much faster at this weekend' event at OSU!
  3. The white car in my sig. 1989 Prince SR5 D-Sports Racer (designed/built by Pat Prince) who has engineered/built several sports racers. Updated to '02 Yamaha R1 power several years ago. Just did a major rework of the engine mounting/weight distribution over the winter and was chasing my tail trying to get it running right.
  4. Thanks Brian! After weeks of frustration with a new Power Commander V, Brian was able to pin down the fact it was bad out of the box! We now have power again in the Yamaha powered DSR and will be back once we get a "new" PC-V.
  5. This... Sean (Crossle) and Dave (owner) have lots of race prep experience and great equipment (and scales). They don't advertise this type of work, but a lot of autocross, track day cars and road racers have everything from alignment to full track prep done there.
  6. I think I still have one (maybe 2) in the attic. Haven't used then in years. Will look tomorrow and if there - see if they work.
  7. Clay, Try http://www.cars.com or http://www.autotrader.com . A quick search of sub 100K mile vehicles from $1K - $3K turned up several choices. Car Source up on Billingsly has several choices - but I went to look at a "low mileage" van they had and it was a rusty mess. Good luck!
  8. Nice looking bike at a great price - frame too small for me..sigh GLWS!
  9. Bump for new price - if interested, call and we can discuss a CR price!
  10. It's been quite a few years - but I think Jim R - the Boltman in your first link is the guy that did the bolt for my Mosin Sniper restore. He also was able to restamp the serial number to match the balance of the rifle.
  11. Good advice to NOT plan every day at the parks. A good midweek "day trip" is Kennedy Space Center / Cocoa Beach just to break things up. Just over an hour each way from the Disney parks area.
  12. This.... Many folks don't even know they have them. Some shops won't suggest them because a (very) few can take 45 min + to replace Not replacing them can also contribute to: Repeated blower resistor failure - airflow helps cool them Same with blower motors Potential premature a/c compressor failure - again low airflow can cause high head pressures Some people just take them out and don't replace them at all but...in some cases they are located between the blower motor and the a/c evaporator. Copper "dust" from blower motors wearing can get on the damp evaporator and actually corrode through the thin aluminum.
  13. Selling a pair of Yamaha WaveRaiders. I've had them about 3 years, upgraded to GP1200's last fall. Pics & details here: http://columbus.craigslist.org/boa/5025330719.html Both are stock 700cc 2 cylinders Asking $3200
  14. If it helps, I do have at least on female instructor if he prefers.... PM me if he does and I can be sure he gets her.
  15. We DO NEED more students! Limited to 50 - but still plenty of room. (several of the instructors were scheduled to be at a divisional event on the 2nd - and the novice chief is in Florida for work (me)). But thanks for the offer!
  16. Hey Paul,

I'll take it for $25 - my son-in-law need one of these at his house. Call or text where I can gather it up.

  17. Auto Body Specialists in Grandview. Race Cars, old cars, late model stuff - Go see Bruno or Brian
  18. Walmart is now stocking "Perfecta" (Made in Italy - believed to be Fiocchi, distributed in US by Tula). Forums seem to be a mix of "love it" or "hate it" as well as "weaker than average" & "hotter than average" - go figure... Price was good enough to buy a couple boxes to try: 9mm $10.97 / 50 Brass Case 45 $18.97 / 50 Brass Case
  19. This... Too many folks are trying to flip cars and avoid the (I believe) 6 cars per year limit without a dealers license. A notary told me they had received notice from the BMV that they could lose their license if they were caught notarizing open titles. (and I'm sure the want of additional tax revenue is a big part as well)
  20. Before I go the eBay route.... I am looking for about 12 4" discs and a 4" cap for a Supertrapp set up. Anybody got any spare stuff lying around?
