1991 Ford F150 XLT Lariat, 5.0, auto, extended cab, air, cruise, tilt, power windows & locks, sliding rear window, hitch and factory wiring for brake controller, Pioneer AM/FM/CD/MP3 w/remote & removeable face. 121,000 miles. Everything works except for the passenger window needing some help to close under power. Has the usual cab corner rust (repaired once) but the bed and tailgate are in pretty nice shape - almost no rust. I have owned this about 3 years and have replaced the water pump, EGR system, oxygen sensor and AC compressor, valve cover gaskets and oil pan gasket. Just purchased a newer diesel truck to replaace this one. It is an old work truck, has bumps and scratches but overall pretty clean for the year - looks good from 20 feet! Asking $2400 (KBB good value is $2690 for a private sale). Ad with photos is up on CL here: http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2579847382.html

Location, location, location. It was one of the best buys in 43214 zip code under $125K (non-foreclosure)

Mine managed to go up over 14% - almost $30K. Looking at comps in the area that sold in the last couple of years, everything "legitimate" is at approx. $100 a sqare foot. Mine is at $116 a square foot. I guess I'm off to the meetings (again). I had to petition to get my taxes reduced when I bought the house. I just got the new assesment before the crash so I didn't really expect a reduction, I could even see a $2K-$4K increase but $30K - not a chance, there is nothing selling in the area that supports this.

If the first deal falls through - PM me - I will take it, the daughter is a groomer and can really use it!

They are getting so few cars now they have gone to every other weekend. I think this weekend is an auction, but yes, every little lot owner and curbstoner is there trying to get something to flip.

Mike, Good to meet you today - the stereo is now housed on the sun porch. FM tuner may be blown, but still working on it. Thanks!

Monster Tajima's Pikes Peak record run - final edit
craig71188 replied to Das Borgen's topic in Pics and Vids
Tajima was later quoted as saying: " I could have broke 9:50:000 if not for all those fucking cameras all over the car". (just kidding) Cool video - interesting how the altitude change affects everything - the car sounds more labored and you can see his chest really heaving as he gets near the summit (not that 8+ minutes of driving that hard won't have you breathing hard anyway). -

Toft's Dairy - out of Sandusky, but sold here at The Anderson's - mmmmmmm! -
Really, Salon.com as an objective news source?!?!??! But I do agree, we need to cut spending. We need NO NEW REVENUE (please be honest and say tax increases) until there is some control of the congress' spending habits in place, period.

The issue I have with ANY tax increase is the dickweeds in congress will find a way to spend it, period. I do like "the penny plan" that has been introduced. Cap spending at this years level (already bloated ffrom various Obama spending increases since his term began) - then cut 1% per year for the next 8-10 years. Instead of baseling budgeting with a 7-8% per year increase EVERY YEAR, we hold the line and reduct our spending to just over our actual spening of 1-2 years ago. We will still need a well crafted balanced budget amendment - not to exceed 18% of GDP - along with controls so the then current repesentatives can't do some stupid "trick" to avoid doing their jobs.

Bad idea, bad policy, another example of politicians refusing to take responsibility to DO THEIR JOBS. This just gives them cover when they have to do something unpopular.

It's interesting the news media's "narrative" was default will ruin the credit rating. The great compromise passes and the markets tank and all the rating services are still "pessimistic" - it was about too much spending all along and this bill does not reduce the amount we are spending (it "cuts" the rate of increase). Politicians are addicted to spending. I think the republicans are getting the message (via the tea party) to cut - but I don't think the majority of the democrats get it. For example - the very underported FAA Bill, passed by the house, ignored by the senate before they recessed. One of the main sticking points - cutting $16M in "ticket subsidies" to a dozen or so small market airports. If they can't cut $16M in airfare subsidies, can they cut out anything?

Pentax or starter DSLR Questions inside
craig71188 replied to Drewhop's topic in The Digital Darkroom
We (my wife) owns the Pentax. A large part of our decision was the fact our existing lens inventory fit it. Pentax seems to get a bad rap for using "AA" batteries (readilly available) and for a slower, noisier autofocus (true). I'm sure the Cannon/Nikon crowd will chime in - but for a basic user that wants good results, it's been a good piece for us. For good used stuff, you may try these guys: http://columbuscameragroup.com/ Been there forever - sell a lot of higher end stuff, but often have the previous generation DLSR stuff in stock used for a decent price. Often some assorted lenses as well. -
I do a little AC work (when I have to) - primarily I sell auto A/C for a large manufacturer & instruct these days (though I still keep my ASE Masters Certifications). Despite being on here for a while, I don't do recommendations - most of the shops I have worked with a long time are in Dayton. I'm sure some folks will chime in with their thoughts on good shops. My schedule is a bit packed for the next few weeks or I would offer to at least take a look and point you in a direction...sorry.

Pressures are all relative to heat load - were you doing this outside in the sun - inside or shady area? Regardless, 65 is a bit high for the low side, but if you're checking it on one of those "can gauges", who knows. As to checks/tests, did the car just stop cooling - or what prompted you to even start this process? This often gives a better place to start. I ask because clutch cycling on and off can be caused by both too low a pressure (low refrigerant) or too high a pressure (high pressure switch cut out). There are several steps to diagnosing the problem: 1) A set of gauges (w/high side) will provide an indication of compressor function 2) If sparks are shooting out of the clutch - it's likely damaged or at least will have a shortened lifespan. You need to be sure you have at minimum 12 volts at the clutch, not 11.9, 12 minimum and preferably more (within 1.5 volts on system voltage) - check with a good digital voltmeter. 3) With a touch type temperature probe (pyrometer) - not an infrared gun, you will need to get temperatures for condenser inlet & outlet, evaporator inlet & outlet and ambient temperature vs. center duct temperature. With these temps (assuming #1 & #2 above seem OK) you can begin to determine a problem. If you don't have these tools - take it to someone who does! You'll just be guessing and that gets expensive on AC if you guess wrong!

WOW told me I had to have their new digital converter - went to switch to Uverse - they couldn't get a signal to my house. Bitched some more at WOW - they admitted they made a mistake, if you have a new set with a digital tuner, no box required - I am plugged in directly on all my flat screens - the two digital boxes I kept for old TV's still suck. No, I don't have all the HD channels & DVR - but I spend a lot less!

No, let people keep and spend or save more of their money and the economy will grow - government does not create wealth, period. The only way to prosperity is to have a healthy growing economy - a governmnet taking more money out of the economy to run itself is only a hinderance. Top 1% already generate 38% of our tax income - how much more do you want???? http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/250.html#Data

Don't care what they call themsleves - until each of them recognizes we: 1) DO NOT HAVE A REVENUE PROBLEM 2) DO HAVE A SPENDING PROBLEM We cannot spend or tax our way to prosperity - just like real people - live within your means. A balanced budget amendment at the federal level makes more sense every day.

????????????????????????????????????????????????? Anyway, I concur w/Browning - best to pull the carb and clean it - be sure no crap is stuck in the needle & seat - and that the float is not "full of gas" (has hole letting fuel leak INTO it)

Full size, free standing oven? or more a countertop toaster oven?

Latest news is we will most likely go to R1234yf - very similar to 134a in performance and pressures (although listed as "slightly" flammable) - will also use the same oils. Still some debate over whether or not it will be offered in small cans. As production for R1234yf gears up, capacity for R134a will be lost - and prices will go up. No plans currently to ban R134a, but the price could get very high even though it would still be produiced. CO2 (R744a) is still on track for approval, but has a few issues - very high operating pressures (2000 psi) and does not cool well in hot climates. It also takes a lot more HP to compress to those pressure, thus hurting gas mileage, thus very unlikely to gain much traction (likely to be the "Betamax" of refrigerants).
