Only the bumps in the pavement - sorry....
-
Not as big as Cooper - as big (a bit bigger?) as both OSU lots, poorer pavement (about the same as NTR), some islands to deal with, but the size/shape will allow for some different course looks.

I wouldn't replace it till I tried the ICM. Alldate shows it on the intake side of the motor centered beteween the two center injectors (certainly on the block below this point). R&R time shows "with intake remove and install: 5.5 hours, or without intake removal & install: .7 hours. Short story - looks to be a pain in the ass to get to.

Module is your best starting point if it's testing bad intermittantly. Knock Sensor will typically cause car to feel down on power as it will cause the module to retard timing (typically) or possibly add fuel, but not cause stalling (if everything else is working decent) O2 controls fuel trim - should not cause stalling (at least don't replace it to correct stalling-read on). If the car is over 100K and it hasn't been replaced, it's due and may just be "lazy" in how it responds. Too long rich or lean will also trip the code, either one (too rich or too lean - more so lean) COULD cause stalling and the O2 code would trip (think vacuum leak that is too large for injectors to add enough fuel to compensate for)

Well for those at work.... Start now scheduled for 7:00 pm (if it stops raining - otherwise Tuesday)

RockAuto actually uses several warehouses in the Midwest to fill some of their orders. That said, being able to take it back locally and not wait is great (and as you mentioned-no freight). Any more, most of the retailers have as many name brand parts as the traditional folks. NAPA has good stuff, but unless you can buy it under one of their preferred accounts, I find them a bit pricey. O'Reilly & Advance seem very close on hard parts - it just comes down to brand preference. Be carefull on the "front room" stuff (chemicals/wiper blades/etc) - since this stuff can't be compared easilly online, it's often cheaper other sources. They bank on "convenience" to help their profit. AutoZone has some decent stuff, but I am not a fan of "private label" (Duralast) where they will tell you it has "xxx brand" in the box. Too many parts buyers are now "spreadhseet buyers". Yes, predominantly it may be the brand you think, but on the top moving numbers that they can import in bulk, maybe not. Two other sources in town are KOI-Federated (west & Worthington) as well as Smyth Parts Plus (downtown, east & Westerville). Neither have a "retail store" in town, but both have pickup warehouses in the locations mentioned.

Codes would be good to get a direction to look. You might also try a couple basic maintenance things like: 1) Clean the throttle body - the plate can get carboned up and cause problems with the IAC 2) Check the PCV valve - I've seens a couple instances recently where a dirty PCV (not clogged - but won't seal under vacuum) was letting "unmetered" air into the motor causing some lean run conditions

I had this issue many years ago with a small independent insurer. I bought of all things a Fiero - and they would not insure it. I called around and found a good State Farm agent - Bob Zedeker (also into cars). I asked him at that time if there was anything they would not insure - even if I went out and bought a Ferrari tomorow. At that time they would insure anything subject to whatever rates applied and they would repair them to the same standards as any other car - i.e. stone chips on the hood-repaint the hood, not the entire car. I've been with them 30+ years, no hassles. Cars on and off the policy, change cars to comprehensive coverage only for months at a time then back to regular coverage - no problems.

Expect it to go up. Manufacturers are going to start to switch capacity to the new R-1234yf ("yf" referring to "your fucked"). With reduced R-134a capacity and no subsequent drop in demand (initially) price is bound to go up. By the way, if you follow such things, the "Old Farmers Almanac" is predicting a HOT summer. Also, beware of "unbrand" chinese R-134a - unless you have an identifier to check it - lots of "sunstitute chemicals" being added to make up 30 lbs of "refrigerant".

I hear they put on a great event - but still no karts...

And just unscrew the cap pack for nice big open megaphones when you want them! They have lost some popularity when the all steel internally baffled mufflers came out. When the Supertrap's hit, most everything had some sort of "packing" in it that burnt out. While you can get Supertraps with packing, we ran the units that just used the caps and baffles in the end - no packing to burn out.

Love the second gen F-Bodies ('79 nose/tail - not so much). May I recommend your search "Fire-Am" for some ideas on what can be done? I may also have the two sticks of rear window trim you are missing, and if you are not going to use the 455 in the car - let me know, I might be interested...

Going to San Antonio and Sarasota...what to do
craig71188 replied to DaddyBuiltRacing's topic in Dumpster
Siesta Key has a great public beach. St Armands Circle is great for shopping/eating as mentioned. Check out the Ringling Museums - their home, art gallery and circus museum are pretty impressive (if you like museums). http://www.ringling.org/ Myakka River State Park is also not too far if you perfer nature: http://www.myakkariver.org/index.php My folks used to live in Sarasota - used to get down their 2-3 times a year, but it's been some time now sinceI've made the trip... -
If we "piggyback" w/PCA - no karts as of last year. I do not know about Miata of UFO, it may be an SCCA only option. Guess I need to get the Cheverra in running order this Spring.

With the current situation on lot availability in Columbus, we are not likely to get our own CR event this year. I don't think anyone wants to pony up the cost for timing equipment, cones, insurance and lot fees for a possibly "one time" event (if anyone really wants to know I can give you an idea on costs). If we want to get together for an informal event, best to piggyback with a local club (UFO, PCA, Miata, etc). Despite running w/SCCA myself, I left them off the list as I think a smaller club would better fir our needs for a first event - more flexibilty and more runs. Probably not a bad idea to contact them in advance if we are likely to have 20-50 additional people show up (more than they typically have). We can designate some "mentors" - experienced autocross folks to help the newbies as far as tech, course walking, and depending on the particular club's rules, possibly ride along instruction. We can gather times from our members and post up whatever "results" we want on the site and the smack talk can begin. After we get one event done and have an idea of "actual" participation numbers, we can discuss a plan for more events - a mini CR series or whatever.

If I recall, yes, yes & yes. I think alot of it had to do with the fees ODNR charged for "road repair" after the event had run and other assorted regulatory issues/permissions/hassles - but my recollection may not be deadly accurate....

Dick Paddock is the only reason the Sunriser continued as long as it did. He would be a wealth of information.

I would be in if it did not conflict w/OVR or a nearby tour event. I would agree with Sean in that we would be better off to "piggyback" w/Porsche Club (or another club - Porsche CLub typically has a lower turn out-hence more runs). We could run our own "event within and event". CR folks would turn in theri time slips and we could do our own PAX index times. We could also have our own "designated instructors" to work with oue drivers.

Kelly Blue Book - www.kbb.com They have a "specifications" tab when you look up a car with most of the stuff you're looking for.

Sill would love to see a 3.0L - 4.0L straight 5 cyl or V6 in a full size pickup. V8 towing capacity with small diesel gas mileage!!! Chrysler has sold the hell out of the Mercedes' engined Sprinter....

Just saw a Lexus SC400 for sale in the neighborhood. 203K miles, $3250 OBO. Dark green, tan interior (looks good at a quick glance), body solid, but some scrapes on the RR behind the fender (white paint) - didn't look close enought to see if in bent any metal...

+1 Have gone several times over the years: 1) Arts & Crafts community - just a little NE out of Gatlinburg - lots of talented local artists - good day of browsing the shops 2) Roaring Fork Nature Trail - one way drive just east of downtown Gatlinburg - several stops, great views, old cabins 3) Cades Cove - southeast end of park - olde settlement around a large valley 4) Klingmans Dome - Highest(?) point in the park - amazing views from the tower in all directions on a clear day. 5) Cataloochee - interesting drive to get there - lots on one-two lane (some just gravel) but a lot less crowded than some other parts of the park 6) Too many great hiking trails to waterfalls to even pick one or two Gatlinburgh itself is cool for a day or so to walk & see the shops. The tram to OberGatlinburgh has some great views as well.
