Hey Scott, Check the oil in the dampers on the carbs as well - nothing like a japanese copy of a goofy british design! (yea, when I first went road racing it was in 240's - PM me if I can help)

In (along with the "regulars")

You can always go to karts... Less than $2K for a good used set up, get a $500 Harbor Freight folding trailer, put hitch on anything, buy sticky tires for $200 a set and some safetey gear - for less than $3K you can go faster than any of the cars, store said kart & trailer in minimal space and if you get bored, run it down to Circleville and run all day on their kart track for $15. It's worked for me so far!

As someone who's been an SCCA member for 30+ years and have autocrossed w/Porsche-Mercedes Club, Miate Club, Ford Club, etc., I will say there are many options to get out and play. Try several (or all) and see what fits your style/goals. SCCA events (even locally) are typically big with 4-6 runs in a day. They have good insurance and a well organized team of volunteers to run them. The local marque clubs put on typically smaller events, usually a little looser organization, but you do typically get more runs (6-12 in a day). My experience has been the courses are tighter and the designs can sometimes be less fun to run (opinion). It all depends on if you just want to drive and play alot for your time and money (clubs) - or if you want to really compete against similarly prepared cars and have a path to more competitive events (SCCA). +1 on the drive the car more and worry about mods later train of thought. As to the above - read the rules as well so you don't make a mod that bumps you into a class you really don't want to be in. As far as SCCA goes, the rulebook is available here: http://www.scca.com/solo/content.cfm?cid=44517 Regardless of how you choose to go - see if you can go along to your first driving event with someone who has been there before and can help you through your first time - that way you can worry about learning the course and driving and not just navigating the morning sign in/tech/parking/etc.

Where do think GM gets them?

PM Sent - I forgot to ask in the PM - can you send an address back as well?

Some numbers might be, the next may be something else entirely - that's why it's in a "Duralast" box. Welcome to the wonderful retail world of "spreadhseet buying". If you aren't the lowest guy on the spreadsheet, then the lowest guy goes in the box.

There are no ladies here..... There are no men here..... There are no women here..... JUST CHILDREN!!!! This place should be renamed the playpen! (says the old guy who still plays with cars)

Every day is pick on Kale day when you're the Solo chair / co-chair / whipping boy / Simi's bitch or whatever title you want to go with....

Driver's School is capped at 40 entrants - 5 spots left as of this morning.

Be sure to check them out before firing. If any of the are marked "Damascus Barrell" DO NOT FIRE them with modern ammunition. This is a typical construction on old shotguns and they very likely will come apart like a large spring.

Another thought - you are allowed up to a 10x20 "storage shed" - When I moved and wound up with an attached 2 1/2 car garage (down froma a 28 x 40 detached garage), I purchased a 10x20 shed and it is great for storage of hoists, engine stands, wheels & tires ( oh yeah and bikes/mowers & so on) that quickly eat garage space.

OK - my bad - I missed the "greater than" clause...

Perhaps not - per the auditors website: http://www.franklincountyoh.metacama.com/do/selectDisplay?select=SUMMARY&curpid=01005859500 That house is only shown at 866 sq. ft. The realtor is probably including some finished space in the basement - but the city is likely to go off the "official" number from the auditor. If it were me, I would stick with the auditors number - you could try and fight it, but the likely result (if you "win" would be more property taxes to pay for the "found" square footage along with the additional value of the garage. Also keep in mind you can't have two garages anymore in the city - even if they total less than the 720 sq ft listed.

Bump - now $3600 on CL - new link here: http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/3011362585.html Feel free to insult me with an offer!

"Legend" is a term so often overused - but a look over the accomplishments of Carol Shelby's life and you will get an idea of what it truely takes to live up to the term. RIP Carol - very few will ever will live up to the term in the automotive world again.

OK - here's your chance for some 1 on 1 instruction. Limited to 40 students, pre-registered on Motorsports Reg ONLY. (same for the Points Event the same day). Detail here: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/742C81ED-E05F-A185-5781E11F98F73B49 The tentative format is a brief ground school in the AM as we complete set up, one on one instruction all morning followed by a points event that afternoon. Limited lot availability necessitates this packed format this year - but with a limited entry you should get plenty of runs in - and be all warmed up for the event that follows (and I'll bet your instructor will still help during the event) Again - NO WALK UPS for these two events do to the tight schedule.
-
PCA/MBC have no insurance to run karts - I will try to stop by - but doubtful to drive, unless my kid is going and offers me a seat....
-
The great irony, we get enough walk ups, we go to three heats, it's easier to do more runs do to fewer worker changes and no lunch break. Sounds stupid, but the changeover "down time" is a killer...

Well.... I don't think six will happen, but 4-5 is very likely

One of those "must see" events. The period racing is great. Also cool are the "exhibition runs" up the "driveway" of the estate. Even cooler, rarer cars being flogged (often by their original or famous drivers) as they were meant to be! Add to that aircraft, bikes, car shows, folks dressed in period costumes and it is just too much fun. Just "google" Goodwood Festival of Speed in either images and/or video - if you don't find something you find very cool - you automotive soul is dead!

OK, so I'm biased as I work for Standard Ignition and we sell the PC based OttoTest scan tool & J2534 device. You can see more information here: http://www.ottotest.com/ It will set you back about $2500-$2600 if you use your own PC (I would recommend) or add another $900-$1000 for their touch screen tablet (no). What you need to know is the inexpensive tools like those on the site you listed typically only access the "global" OBDII data. They do "pretty it up" in their displays and it is usefull (we only offer global data on european models). This global data has to be offered in a standard format by law. The "big dollar" scan tools offer "enhanced" data that must be purchased from the manufacturers. This "data" includes specific manufacturer's tests, bi-directional control of many components, access to body and chassis modules (global is main PCM only), and access to things like "GM Configuration" ot "Toyota Preference" settings (radio installs, set the door locks to all unlock in park, only one unlock, etc). Our tool is also a fully functional J2534 Global Programmer. This allows you to do any factory reprogramming of modules on the car. In many cases you can change wheel/tire size & final drive ratio (to correct speedometers), and work with Ford PATS security. No, it does not support performance "custom" programming, sorry. Just a little background that helps you kno what you're looking at.

Not that I'm biased, but my daughter Laura is now grooming at Wags & Whiskers in Dublin. Visit their site here: http://wagsandwhiskersdoggrooming.com/ or their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Wags-Whiskers-Grooming/152277241480153 She's a Certified Professional Trainer through National K9, but decided to pursue grooming primarily. After two years of "apprenticing" at other shops, she has set up at Wags & Whiskers for the foreseable future. Tell her that her dad told you to call her!!!

Confused??? Ad says he has all the build pictures and receipts - quotes say TRD built the car and sold it in TX and he hauled it to NY???
